  • I am in a similar situation. I love to travel, by sea preferably. I am in school for a BA in computer science. At the end of the first year I travelled aboard Oasis of the Seas, we are sailing aboard Allure in two months, right after graduation for AAS in computer programming. I start university in the fall for the BA and we are sailing on QM2 eastbound transatlantic to celebrate completion of the first year of university. When one wants something badly enough (travel) they will stop at nothing.

  • Great video and touching back-story. I very much appreciated the sentiments in the song too and shall buy it on I-tunes. It's wonderful when dreams come true isn't it? For your next crossing, perhaps black, bow-tie (self-tied); and black vest (waistcoat) or black cummerbund; (or were formal nights on the QM2's maiden voyage white-tie? In which case I shall take it all back, but only if you were wearing tails - haha!). Enjoy your next voyage on one of those exquisite Cunarders.

  • @AntPDC Thank you! Yea it was one of the most amazing times of my life something I'll never forget. Actually I forgot my black tie and just had a white tie with me during that voyage. I do plan on making another crossing here in the near future.

  • @dbutcher555 Thanks, although I must say you looked pretty good in your formal wear - white bow tie or not! The only reason I learned bout these dress distinctions is because I'm headed to England on the Queen Victoria next March, and I wanted to get black tie down pat! Although not an "Ocean Liner" in the sense that the QM2 is, I'm looking forward to being aboard the QV. And I've spent an annoying afternoon learning to tie a bow-tie! Glad I mastered it tho' (sort of)! Best wishes.

  • Thank you for posting the video. I share your love of the sea and ships, and having completed 14 cruises to all parts of the world the QM2 is the best ship and has the nicest atmosphere and mix of passengers. In 2009 i did a double atlantic crossing. it was wonderful. Vern

  • @captnvern I agree with you wow I'm jealous, I hope to meet you on one of these voyages!

  • WOW! Thanks for posting such a great video! Yeah, like RMS Aquatania (youtube acount) and you, I too have always wanted to go onboard the Queen Mary 2. I never went aboard her, so I really want to go on her. But I think everyone here wants to go on her because she is such an amazing and luxurious ship. I hope to book a future vogage on her.

  • Congratulations on your dream! This is one dream I still have and I've been in the UK for the last five years. I like your idea of pasting photos on a piece of paper of your dream. I need to do that too, along with my dream for a 2,500 square foot house! Thanks a lot for uploading and perhaps we may cross paths onboard some day!

  • Thank you for posting a great video. I am planning to do the same crossing. Something I have wanted to do since I was a little boy and next year WILL see it happen.

  • fantastic video

  • good on ya!

  • good on ya!

  • My dream, travel on a great liner like Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria or Queen Elizabeth. I'd like travel on the RMS Titanic or Olympic but that liners were dead. That liners were so nice...

  • haha sooo true!! That's what I was thinking when I was on this ship on the first voyage!

  • The sheets had never been slept in, the china had never been used.. the Queen Mary 2 was called.. the ship of dreams.. and it was.. it really was!

  • this is great... is awesome :D how much does it cost to sail on this incredible and extraordinary ship? :)

  • Hello again, booked my 5th trip now on QM2 and this taking my 13yo and 19yo nieces as a treat, can't wait till May 2010 again to be back onboard this beautiful ship, Brian

  • Great video, brings back all the memories, sailed on QM2 3 years in a row now and have to admit I am hooked, rather expensive hobby to have! Hope you get back onboard soon, it's just as exciting going back. Brian

  • Yes thank you for the comment! I'm looking to book again for a trip across the atlantic I loved the experience I had aboard QM2!

  • Magnificent! Thanks for sharing your once in a life time experience! I too am fascinated by ocean liners! The QM2 is a majestic looking ship.

My first Atlantic crossing from New York to Bremerhaven, Germany was as a boy back in 1958 on the old German liner, the MS Berlin, ( formerly the old Swedish liner, The Gripsholm built back in 1925 and later purchased by the German Lloyd line company and renamed the MS Berlin.) The old MS Berlin was later scrapped.

  • What an experience and a half that was!!! I remember with great fondness doing this crossing on the QE2 back in January 2007. I too look forward to sailing on Queen Mary 2 for the first time in July 2009 on her Iberian Odyssey cruise.

  • Excellent Video, Thank you for sharing this. I've done several Med Cruises which I loved. Try a Med Cruise, lots of countries & history & sunny weather too.

  • yeah man your trip had to be a lot longer, crossing the ocean, how long did it take? mine was just an overnight trip from fort lauderdale to nassau

  • Oh I see mine was 6 days and I'm going again In July 2009.

  • Great to see all that fanfair while setting sail from southampton.

I was crew until the 8th of april just gone, and now i have the net back at home im starting to upload my video diaries of my time on board. I thought you might be interested, so watch this space :)

  • @bubbabrand It's not dbutcher555, but I'll tell you and dbutcher555 a little fact. Most transatlantic crossings take 7 days, but it really depends on the speed of the Queen Mary 2. If she goes faster, it's 6 days. If she goes slower it's 7 days. For extra facts. 1-6 day trips are usually overnight trips or small getaways. 6-12 days are usually crossings or small cruises.12-26 days are usually big cruises of europe from New York. 26+ days can be big cruises of europe too, or world cruises.

  • Awesome Video Dennis on visualization, focus and just manifesting those things that you want into existence. Faith+Action=What you have hoped for. Thanks for sharing Dennis just awesome.
