Missile strikes from our drones that kill non-combatants are not terrorism in large part because there is no intent to kill non-combatants. It is reasonable to argue US economic growth will be greatly diminished or a Japan style "depression" will occur over the next decade due to these policies. It is not reasonable to say the dollar will cease.

China, Russia, Japan and France, several Middle East Arab states have taken the initiative to detach the oil from the US Dollar. The US dollar is put into the scrutiny and several G20 nations begin to question the fundamentals of the US Dollar and its future.

If these countries no longer will accept the US dollar as payment, it will collapse.The dollar is now at its weakest against the Pound in 28 years. It plunges against several other important currencies like Euro, Yen, Yuan and Swiss Franc.

It is inevitable that the US dollar will stop being used for foreign reserves. Foreign central banks will begin to diversify their reserves among numerous major currencies -- more so than they already do. But the US dollar will stay, by far, the safest currency for the foreseeable future. Mainly because a world without the US is a very bad for everyone.

The major problem is there is no stable alternative currency. Maybe the Yaun in 40 years.

Don't listen to those zeitgeist videos. They are crap. If you want to know about the current economic climate, I recommend Krugman's "Return to Depression Economics." He lays out some key concepts very well. Unfortunately, he is a liberal so just filter out the bias. It's an easy read & at the end of it you'll have a solid foundation of economic principles.

And I am avoiding a debate, here on youtube. I recommend you understand the Austrian school of economics. There is a HUGE problem with Krugman.. and pretty much every model based economic system. That is - no one has yet modeled human behavior right. So Krugman's new Keynesian theories sound good on paper but have very little to do with practice.

I'm not really sure what you are afraid of. The US debt is $12T, 83% annual GDP. That still has some ways to go before a catastrophic meltdown of the US economy.

Losing Faith 101 (for the slow). Step 1) Everyone around the world abandons your fiat currency as the default reserve currency. This alone pretty much destroys said currency. Step 2) The people back home in the country that is home to the now FORMER reserve currency see that other countries that used to give us the fruits of their labors, no longer do so, and we now find that our dollar won't by squat.
