Starting from Punalur - Punalur-Tirunelveli MG Pass. (Aug, 12, 2007)

Conversion works are going on from (21-9-2010) after a day from closure...till now only MG lines are removed in this section .....railway authorities feels that it's one of the difficult section to be converted to BG as there are many bridges ...it would be better atleast if they leave this beautiful scenary unlike this MG trains in the name of gauge conversion

Enjoyed a lot ...one who miss this journey in this section that too with this Mg trains are surely unlucky....no one is sure about when will this section will be opened again as BG .....ONLY EXISTING MG section in southern railways is tiruvarur-karaikkudi section in trichy division which will also soon find a date for closure

@rajnikantsharma Yes, very much! Madras Beach - Villupuram was an electrified MG section and Mitsubhi YAM1 locos used to rule roost before the 'cruel' unigauge project demolished all of them. You can see a few videos by searching on 'YAM1 MG'.
