  • Mike is right

He is in the candy shop! 1847 is about as far back as things go around Utah... Maybe someone had something older and lost it around here. But. that Don"t happen everyday.

    HH

  • Im just getting in 2 it. Its addictive. I love the sound of this!! sooty and sweep. Cute!!

  • Mike, I enjoy your videos very much.

I only wish I would have started metal detection soon on in life... I hooked now...

I am out west USA. If I find anything over one hundred year old... I take the day whole off! A Roman Bell? Congrats!

  • really i find stuff over a hundred years old sometimes without even lookin..we do have alot of history here shame every one doesnt

  • i love the hobby ..but this somes like sooty and sweep..

  • I live in the Seattle area, it was only settled during the last 100 years. This could be depressing, if I would ever let it be so.

  • Your time difference doesnt make it any easier to find the very earliest items. That would be my goal in your circumstances.Good luck anyway.

  • If you are looking to begin metal detecting, please view the videos on my channel!

  • ghgh

  • any metal detectorists from romania here??

  • Good vid mike, but most of all good advice.Weldone mate, nice to see and hear someone not promoting a particular machine. And just detecting for the love of it,good luck to you.

  • and I have a very much old coins.I find him in the south west of kosova.if you ant too see write me

  • i would like to

  • It's good living in Britain because you don't know what you can find, Roman, Viking, you name it, gold, silver, swords, etc.

  • wish i lived there i live in canada not many old coins at all i have an whites MXT

  • Good vid Mike, yes good hobby I love it and have for the last 10 years. Lucky living in Wales.

  • you cant find treasures likes that here in the states.. nope.. you'd be lucky to even find a quarter where I'm at =P

I did however find some old rusted fish hooks by a nearby man made pond.. and a few rusty nails.. do those count?

  • great finds mike , wish i was there with you with my cz6 quicksilver, god i love the bug!!!

  • I see you have found a petrified Hersheys Kiss...that must be old? When chocolate turns to metal...you know it is old. Pretty cool.

  • I found a brass tube today with some etching in it. I don't have a clue as to what it was used for.

  • how much does a decent detector cost?

  • Bottom of the line but still decent, 250USD, the best, about a grand. The more you spend, for the most part, the better. Not an expensive hobby if you think about it, I've paid for every detector with finds int he last 10 years of digging.

  • What to do eh?

Knock on a farmers door or two, hold your head up high & openly enjoy your hobby following the rules?

Or skulk about like a thief in the night??

You're just too scared to ask you nighthawkers, pathetic, cowardly thieves, Hawnkmyknight?...sad little thief would be a more fitting name!

  • what a load of shit, what a set up

  • what makes the hobby is going out at night as my video shows, you have to get night time permission of course 'ahem cough'

  • well done mate, whats your best find, and what type of detector do you use.

  • great vids mike,i always enjoy watching them.

  • hope you clean your finger nails before you have your bacon butty, great vid

  • keep up the good work

  • exellent stuff

  • i have about £100 british pound to spend. what would u buy for that money ? what features do i ideally need. can u reccomned me a model please . thank you for your time and video ;)

  • Halt with plundering! You are increasingly numerous to use a detector. Your passion leads you to irremediable damage. The archaeological inheritance is a common cultural asset which has the role to be studied then presented at the public. Stop your clandestine practices and contribute rather to archaeology by declaring your discoveries!

  • Get a life, 99,9% of all detectorists register their finds. Maybe you´re frustrated, haven´t got that Archie job you were after, or bored with nothing better to do ?

  • there is only one word to discribe you banjomat- Ignorant!

  • what a load of cobblers you spout... detectorists have added more knowledge and finds of national importance than anyone else... crawl back in your hole and remain there... tosser

  • go out at night and say nothing

  • Mike - great videos, I just bought my first detector today, I can't wait to go out and try this. Unfortunately for me I won't find any Roman or Celtic items here in New York USA. Keep the videos coming and please give a verbal description of what you are finding - the history is fascinating, Good luck. (Mike in NY).

  • Hey Mike, thank you for sharing your metal detecting knowledge and experience with us. I live in South Carolina, U.S. Please don't dig it all up before I get there! Those are my ancestors too! Kidding...

    Good Luck! Chris

  • mike, whenever you need a holiday, call me, +420 731 350 169, we are detecting the Czech Republic, I invite you, you will be my guest. I mean this, cheers, Eduard

  • Thank you

  • Your dectector sounds like a rubber ducky!!!! I love metal detecting too...
