Cummins 12 Valve vs. Cummins Mega Cab 2

A friend of mine has a 98 1 ton (12 valve) with 1.36 million miles and it's just now on its first rebuild. My dad has a 06 MegaCab with the Common Rail, 112k miles and is just getting broke in. Diesel Power made a mention of a guy with an 04 Common Rail who passed 1 million in the Jan 2012 issue. I'm not a huge fan of the Cummins 6.7, but I would take it over any Ford PSD any day of the week. This is also coming from a Ford owner who's gettin ready to trade in for a LB7.

This tug-o-war was pointless. That dually will win every time unless the other truck is modded & weighted. What motor is in the "mega cab"? If a 24 valve 5.9L, it has more hp and torque stock for stock. If a 6.7L, it has wayyyy more torque and hp than any stock 5.9L. Now, I love the 12 valves too, but geeze - let's see a "fair fight", & not a pathetic tug-o-war that the outcome will be obvious! BTW, real men don't put nigger rims on their diesel truck. Haha. Im not a fan of big rims, but in theory its a great idea. The less sidewall you have on your tire while towing the less flex you get over bumps and in turn your truck behaves better and drives better with a trailer. THAT is the theory behind it. These trucks arent meant for off road, and lets face it who is going to take a $50,000 truck out wheeling unless its an emergency or theyre completely fuckin dumb.

Of course they're meant for off road use. If they weren't, they wouldn't come with 4wd and wouldn't be designed to accommodate large tires.
