For those people saying chevy don't have a good axle you don't know much the Corp. 14 bolt full floater is one of the best I pull and even the ford guys swap out to a 14 bolt. All this guy had happen was the ubolts broke or stretch Wich isn't that uncommon when you see what these trucks are put threw. So you ford people should hook to the sled and see you will break just as much as a chevy.
@HemiDart no.. dana had the dana 60. ford had the sterling 10.25 10.50 and 9". maybe someday Chevy and dodge will learn how to build nice things aswell.
@TurboIDI You missunderstood my statement. '66-'71 Mopar Muscle cars (HEMI, 440-6) had the option to have a Dana 60. The SS '68 Hemi Darts/Barracuda's autos came w/ 8¾ w/ the option for a Dana 60. '94-'02 Dodge Cummins came w/ a Dana 80. GM muscle cars got a 12 bolt...which won't hold up to much.
@condor12341 Getting axle wrap from too much torque and traction makes it a piece of shit? learn what about what happened before you make uneducated comments...
@condor12341 hahahaha you're an ignorant little bitch. just because it broke doesn't mean shit. Every car is going to break, it's inevitable, EVERY car, no matter what company it came from
This is a perfect example of why you see so many home made utility trailers made out of Chevy truck beds. Fords and Dodge, too. Never see any International truck bed trailers, do you? They are pulling the Chevy, etc. truck bed trailers.
@TheSwaggBotz Well arent you just full of yourself, your just jealous because this truck will pull the trailer you live in off the fuckin platform... try again.
@bigorangetrucker. iv seen people put ford 9'' under their trucks and rip them apart... knew a guy that had an 87 custom delux with a chevy 527 pushin out 620 @ 5500 and 650lb of torque at 4500 and a ford 9'' it works pretty good for awhile when he was just crusin but when he went to the sled pulls he didnt even cross the 150 mark. they found pieces of the rear end everywhere. a piece of the case actually went through the bed. found it then next mornin when we tore it apart
Its called a stronger case. Obviously a stock 9" third member isn't gonna hold that kinda power dumbass, but you drive a chevy so you already knew that. DER!
Driving a chevy is like letting a bunch of 5 year olds loose in a fine dinnerware store; somethings gonna break, GUARANTEED!
You twats - his u-bolts broke or stretched, and the axle turned. That's the diff yoke you see that is now on the BACK side of the axle.
It wasn't a matter of not being a 14 bolt, or the drive shaft falling off, or any of the other explanations you non-mechanically-inclined people are saying - he stretched or broke the u-bolts.
@joedrummer2010 ive seen something like this before but it happend in english grass track racing a driver set off from the start line and shifted into 2nd and the axle turned around just like because the bolts that held the axel to the leaf springs shired
@greenjeep92 do you know how many pulls he's gotten out of that axle. i don't but i bet alot more then 1. my motto is giver till she breaks. awesome truck nice to see a person build up an oldy. and ya to the people that say its a piece of crap stock axle, it was the universal joint that broke who hasn't broke one of those.
That just plain SUCKS, but been there. Just have to put better and bigger parts back into it when you rebuild or as money allows. Lets face it none of us are getting rich pulling
@greenjeep92 i was just being a pecker head about that guy thinking because its a chevy means it has lots of power and thats why it breaks. he has no idea that there are trucks puting down way more power and still dont break like that even with stock drive train. later bro
