Kitajima is amazing these power and technique. Today its his 29th birthday. Hope to see him a lot of years by World Championships and Olympic Games. Best wishes to him for the future from his Fans in Germany
@126anonymous No, a faster stroke rate (to a point) definitely does not slow you down. I am a 200 breaststroker so I know. the glide is not faster, it simply provides an energy-conserving way to keep moving, which is important in the longer 200. Kitajima increases stroke rate on the last 50 to try and compensate for lactate buildup which decreases stroke length
The best swimmer... obviously!!! He's only why I'm still alive! xD But... I want the translation of this video (English or Romaji, is the same), pleeeease!!!! ^^
This swim proves that 200br is harder than 200fl... check out the increase in stroke rate on the last 50 and then notice that it was STILL the slowest 50. That's called lactate buildup. If you were to increase your stroke rate that much on the last 50 of a 200 fly it would definitely be faster than the previous 50s.
@KyleSockwell That is more likely due to your body not being very well suited to doing butterfly rather than the relative difficulty of the two events
he swims like he is 10feet tall!

He is 5 10, that just disproves all the shit that you have to be 6+ to be a fast swimmer.

@olympianlondon2012 I'm a 200 breastroker and i dont think i could finish a 200 fly without doing some freestyle or something.

I just have a quick question....where do I shave for breastroke? I heard that you shave the sides of the leg or something.... do you wear a jammer?
iloveevannalynch 3 years ago
it's all personal preference
but my coach told me to shave everything except the insides of my calves.
sijas 3 years ago
dont shave the forarms so you will get better pulls
