Yet another stupid decision by the morons who run the city of Mt. Clemens. No, the only ones who win is the City. It's a proven fact that when fluoride is removed from the water supply, cavities rise substantially. Dumbest and most self-centered City government in Michigan.
@bigjim10011 Proven fact? I think not. However it IS a fact, that after the introduction of fluoride into municipal water cavity rates also dropped IDENTICALLY in other areas without fluoridation.
"Fluoride compounds which are put in water (fluoridation), toothpaste and supplement tablets (including some vitamins) were never tested for safety before approval."
"Fluoridation is not legal or not used in the overwhelming number of countries including industrialized countries."
@andrewakamds Excellent observation, andrewakamds. Let's hope that they're intelligent enough to have appreciated the appalling truth about the fraud of fluoridation.
By the way, just another thought: This has inspired me to do the same. I have just contact the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities to find out the cost of adding the substance (which currently stands at 0.8ppm in 2010 and has been dropped to 0.7ppm in 2011.) Once I have all my information, I plan on contacting the City of Richmond to have it rescinded. Any information you can provide me in regards to the steps you took to achieve victory would be wonderful. Thank you!
@trick29420 Worst decision ever. Will lead to thousands of cavities in the citizens mouths. Dental health is directly related to physical health. Horrible and foolish decision.
Way to go!! If you tell them it's poison, they'll brush it off...BUT, if you tell them they can save $40,000, they're all for it! Great approach, great Victory. Good for you!
@MzBabsie You're right, when it comes to the City of Mt. Clemens it's ALL about money. They never have and never will give a rat's ass about us citizens. That is, until we realize they are running our city into the ground and FIRE all of them and replace them with decent, unselfish people.
@bigjim10011 So long as everyone properly cares for their teeth, there shouldn't be many issues. If someone feels they are lacking flouride, you can buy a bottle of flouride rinse in the toothpaste section of your grocery store. The problem with consuming flouride is that it's very toxic to our bodies and is more poisonous than lead and just slightly less poisonous than arsenic. To be used for a rinse by choice is one thing, but manditory ingestion is a whole 'nother can of worms.
