  • I was just wondering if i could use this information to program a PIC18 because that's what i'm working with and i can't seem to find any tutorials about that particular processor that are as good as this one....awesome vid man thanks for the help

  • First tutorial that really got my attention. You can make people learn. Simple, step by step info and direction. Great mate. Thank you (im just starting to learn about electronics)

  • Cool tutorial, only problem is that i couldn't hear your voice so i maxed my volume and forgot i was loading a screamer for my sister. it suddenly started to scream and i almost broke my keyboard in half. But thanks!

  • great. I use mplab in the most of my application

  • will you decipher the ...::: OnyxCode :::...

  • You rock :)

    Thanks for these videos.

  • Thanks for the Vid.... BTW... Is it possible to get a non-shit connection in Australia?

  • many thanks mate, really useful stuff for beginners like me :)

  • oh i see someone else already posted the book...lol

  • when are you going to put more tutorial on it it has been like 6 months :(

  • ive got the same pic as you!

  • thanks

  • I need help, i just basic information about low level language. I know it will sound stupid but please some tell me where i will information about machine language and assembly language...how this language works....thanks in advance

  • It's hard to find anything about assembly anymore. However, if you look hard enough something will come up. I got a book off amazon called "Assembly language step-by-step" by Jeff Duntemann. It comes with everything you need to get started with Assembly, using the NASM assembler.

  • thanks you brother....i will try to get it as soon as possible...

  • mov eax 0x1337

  • stfu

  • @buredtx

Assembly language step by step with DOS and Linux Second Edition.

Good book to understand exactly how your computer works so you can begin to think in the language...it doesn't even start with actual programming till like chapter 7.

  • I dont use mplab notepad is muck better. lol

    Converting to hex with MPASMWIN

  • Hell yeah! lol, my college uses mplab but it sucks so ive always stuck with notepad n just the mplab compiler.

  • MPLAB is a very good simulator for the running of code, so you can see where the PIC puts the code and data in each of the memory locations and how it manipulates it, plus you can simulate pin inputs and outputs! So you should be able to write your code with zero bugs, from the software point of view, using MPLAB... But yeah It can take a bit to learn :\... hopefully by the end of these videos you will like it :D and know it inside out ;)

  • Is that in the new version coz my college uses one from when windows 95 was around, lol, i use the newer one at home coz its easier to see what parts of my code are rite.

  • lolz Google Austral!

  • Just a suggestion, but could you make the video titles START with the Tutorial Number? Youtube cuts off most of the title so I have to hold the mouse over each one to find the next tutorial in the series.

  • Yeah good idea...I think I can do that... I'll try it on the next one..

  • Or organise them in a Playlist and leave the Playlist URL in the Description? Check my Playlists section.

  • Perfect. Just talk a little louder. Otherwise perfect

  • so well what's a top on-chip ram size for PICs?

MungedToastFace, any upcoming vids on issi *512* cache memory-based things including voice recording/etc?

  • Umm I have seen PICs with 1k of RAM but if you need more space to store data you usually put it in either the internal or an external EEPROM memory. You wouldn't store data in the RAM for very long usually. Although you can if you want. sorry Im going to try to make these tutorials so that someone can just look at them and by the end of it be a good PIC programmer :D that the ultimate goal... so I think using external chips and voice recording might be a way off yet :D hopefully one day!

  • what is a PIC???

  • Programmable Interrupt Controller ;)

  • I'm currently learning a bit of this programmin stuff at college.... We're not really into it, but one of our theacher is one crazy programmer with this.

  • Excellent video- thanks for that. I'm doing a PIC programme for my final year project and really appriciate a decent tutorial! Keep em coming!!! :D

  • Please Leave comments as to how I can make these videos better.. Only just started this project so I am still working on the other videos and they will be up soon.
