the old "pick vs. fingers" issue is all about the fucken' sound. the most experienced bassists knows this and respects both. With aggressive music like this, playing with a pick should be "prohibited". I can easily manage to play with both, even this song but seeing as it's originally played with a pick I'm gonna use a pick for it. and sweet playing.

i agree with you. for example if i were to play a motorhead song i would use a pick because Lemmy uses a pick, and if you dont then you wont get the same sound. i was taught to never use a pick but when the song recquires it i use a pick...plain and simple..

Thanks, yeah the compressor is great for the fast paced stuff - it evens the notes out and I find it helps reduce fatigue... Not sure I would recommend the aphex I have though - its built like shit. Apparently John Campbell uses a dbx.
