with all the moose and deer I have shot over many years, not one of them, have I had to cut up at all in the bush, they all have come out whole, head and all

Great bull...!! Camera man got a little excited I think (understandably)... maybe makin the hunter rush her 2nd and 3rd shots... It looked and sounded like she was hittin it every shot though... That first shot- he was dead on his feet. Moose usually don't just drop like deer and elk...

If these folks are "trophy" hunting, explain why they are seen packing out the meat? In most states it is a serious crime to NOT take out the meat, in Alaska the antlers come out last, after all the meat has been cared for first. You will lose all your gear, aircraft, vehicles, guns, right to hunt, heavy fines, and/or jail if you get busted taking just the antlers and leaving edible meat behind, including ALL the rib meat, better be only a snow white skeleton left when you get done.

Thanks! it was around 2pm after a long day of hiking and riding,I had lost hope since it was my 4th time there in 2month!

moose was anywhere between 250-300yards, 30-06 bullets were dropping close to a ft.

your right the first shot went into the chest splitting heart and lodged into back ribs

it was dead but Evan told my to keep shooting! the other shots went into the top of front leg.
