  • best video ...

  • I love science very much and I admire all the scientists. The more they know about everything, the more I admire GOD!!!! The One who made it all !!!! The One who made all of us, with many different levels of understanding !!! We shouldn't hate one another, just have patience! We are all learners in this short human life!!! :D

  • @liketheuniverse11 Yes, Thor did a magnificent job on the creation. He thanks you for the recognition.

  • what do they think mass thumbing down wil achieve ahaha I'll still watch it if it sounds good!

  • did anyone else start to get: "wow...cool."

just echoing about in their heads about 3 seconds into this video?

  • lol he talks funny! but i get this vid..

  • @minalow8 The guy in the video is very lucky because he is thin. I can't succeed with my diet, and I have to loose some 10 Kgs. Unfortunately I'm falling in the temptation of chockolates and fast food.

  • Why do these videos have so low ratings?... Is there some creationist (or something) who has been vote botting these videos?

  • :D Omg. I love the fact vote bots attack these videos. What a bunch of wankers. Fuck people who don't appreciate science. All of those type of people should be barred from medical help.

  • his voice is kind of annoying... theres something about it, i dont know. great video tho, very informative.

  • i can't tell what ethnicity he is. He's definitely not American, he could be British, but something in my mind is telling me that he isn't British either... maybe he's South African

  • Liska is name of Czech origin, meaning FOX.:-)

  • dude, I wish my name was FOX

  • hahahhahahahah, great reply !

  • Judging by his accent and the fact that the programme is made in germany, I'd say he was german.

  • well im not exactly savvy on german accents

  • He's not got much of an accent when speaking english which is likely why they chose him for the narration. I don't know all german accents but I have worked with a number of germans and have some german family so better than nothing. As I say, it's only really a guess that he's german, though not a stab in the dark guess.

  • great stuff,,,,,,, love it

  • you're confused

the earth is 4.5 billion years old

the universe is about 13-16 billion years old

  • right..... if he were you and you were the one speaking in the video, I guess he would say the same thing. What's wrong with his voice? <_<

  • It's your problem,and it doesn't mean,that you should annoying others! BFU:-(

  • Thank you for this great channel and all the effort you are making to spread knowledge and reason.

    This is priceless!!

The study of the Universe is what makes me an Agnostic rather than an Atheist, because there is A LOT to discover yet.

  • I subscribe to the podcast

  • HD RULES .. AND SPACE ANYWAY ! :D

  • ...If you're going to be a dumbass, keep it to yourself. From what you've put up there, I don't even think it's worth my time trying to explain just how WRONG that statement is. If you don't know what you're talking about, gracefully keep your ignorance to yourself or ask politely for clarification. All you've succeed in doing with your comment is make yourself look like an idiot.

Or you're a troll. Either way. Idiot.

    :-)

    Nice video!

  • I'm not a decorated astronomer, or physicist; I just enjoy this stuff as a hobby.

I'll give you 3 pieces for free:

    1) A broadcast system uses encoding and decoding to make sense of radio waves and is different then naturally occurring waves in the universe. The radio waves you're referring to are made with the intention broadcasting audio, not text. It's all information in the end.

    2) You're a troll. This will be my last response to you.

    3) Consider proper punctuation in the future.

  • sometimes google is wrong.(period)and please stop commenting on something you know nothing about.(period)radio waves from outerspace paint a unreadable image.(period)

  • Great post! ***** FAV

  • Holy crap, there really is 720p video hidden on youtube. Its slow as hell to download, but kind of neat for the 1% of videos that would make it worthwhile...

  • Actually it's 1080p. Uploading and processing took more than 4 hours.

  • Doesn't really matter what the source was, youtube seems to only spit out 720p, from the HD version I downloaded. Still, 720p is pretty amazing for a video on the web.

  • @IdleGod I normally watch at 360 and 480. 480 has very good quality. 720 is difficult to download at 2 Mbps DSL, they also very CPU demanding to watch them.

  • @hrbear Heh, since then, youtube has released HTML5 and 1080p video. HTML5 video is smooth and looks beautiful at 720p or 1080p. Its flash that makes it CPU intensive. Its a good reason for flash to be obsoleted as soon as possible.

  • @IdleGod

Only slow if you are on dial up....

  • call me unscientific, but i'll be much more interested in seeing the pictures/videos these telescopes produce than vids about the telescopes themselves. but it is all amazing

  • This is a fantastic video. Astronomy has always fascinated me. And to think that, even with all our as-yet current knowledge, we haven't yet really begun to scratch the surface.

  • Wow. In just few hundred year humans came so freaking far. Amazing, beyond imagination.

  • sweet
