  • that was very simple.

i do it differently but your way is easier.

  • I tried doing the "hold shift and drag" thing to bold my text, but it didn't work for me. All it did was move the thin text in the direction I was dragging it...and partially erased other areas the selected text came in contact with. Why won't it work for me?

  • @Dac719 If the entire box erases what you drag it over, then Paint does not see the box as transparent. To fix this, first make sure that your selected background color (next to the color palate) is the same as the background color in the selection box. Second, make sure that you are "drawing transparent". To do this, you can either click the second picture under the tool box (seen only when select tool is used) or you can uncheck "Draw Opaque" in the Image menu. Hope this helps.

  • @stupidgenius107 After I posted my comment, I figured out how to correct my mistake. See, I was using a colored background before and didn't realize it made a difference. When I used the white background with black text, as you did in the video, I got it to work. Thanks, smartgenius (you are not stupid). :)

  • @Dac719 Thank you very much. I'm glad you figured it out.

  • @stupidgenius107 You're welcome.

  • Ignore my previous comment. I'm a moron.

  • how do you cange the font of your typing.

  • @gaaraandnaruto1 First create a text box on your canvas. While it is open, go to the menu bar in the top left corner and select View>Text Toolbar. A small window will appear as it did in the video. From there you can change all text attributes, including the font, but not font color, which is determined by your current foreground color in the color palate.

  • @stupidgenius107 okay thanks! sorry, this is my first time working on paint.

  • @gaaraandnaruto1 No problem. It's really a pretty simple program, but it can be used to do some pretty cool stuff.

  • @Lucky82610 I do not have Windows 7 at the moment, so I cannot make a new video about it. However, I am currently working on a way to make Windows 7 paint videos in the future. Until then, check out this video that shows you how to get Windows XP paint on Windows 7 and Vista. I'm sorry I could not solve your problem directly, but please be on the lookout for new vids.

  • @asailant2000 Last year I had a bunch of free time at school, which I spent in the library. I couldn't download anything on school computers without getting yelled at, so I just learned how to do a bunch of cool stuff with MS Paint. I actually have Photoshop on my computer.

But yes, I have tried Gimp and it's a great free substitute for Photoshop. Thanks for the feedback.
