Oh man, what a fucking disappointment. I just watched the DNC's newest smear ad on Romney (it's very polished, but nothing new) and thought it'd be interesting to see a related ad on Obama. I was on board until you said "Vote McCain". Way to be another cog.
If you can't sight your quotes or show actual videos of alleged flips by Obama you shouldn't show them. It really looks like you are stretching hard to make him look bad rather than show an unbiased view of his statements as they stand. You are no better than FOX NEWS when you edit your films this way.
@ensignbay On the second point about gay marriage. Obama was never for gay marriage and was always for civil unions. Just because he says in a letter (which you should cite where to find it so people can read the entire context) is that he is against efforts to amend the constitution. He does say in the follow-up video that these decisions should be made at a state and local level, but that doesn't mean he can't write a letter saying he opposes the decision to try to amend the constitution.
On the NAFTA thing, you don't have any video. You need to site the actual fortune magazine article, because you just took some random quote out of it and say it is his response to "when asked if he would change his stance on NAFTA". Then you have ONE video of an advisor saying he is looking into strengthening NAFTA. It's hearsay and wouldn't even stand up in court. Surely, you have actual video of HIM saying it?
As for the abortion issue: You have quotes that aren't even cited and completely taken out of any context. So we are just supposed to take your word at this? All I'm saying is that if you are gonna make claims of a flip flop you should do your part and use quotes from articles that you cite (so people can check them out) and also use video were you don't just take an excerpt out of context. It is so easy to do with anyone to make any point you want.
@ensignbay Your first response to me was that you showed Obama changing positions in his own words on video. Well, the only one where you have him on video actual saying something close to a flip was the one about the surge. The remaining points you try to make are not proven by him on video. Just saying your journalism could be a little better.
A flip would be something like Herman Cain saying during the last debate that he would NEVER negotiate with terrorists even though there is a video interview with Wolf Blitzer EARLIER THE SAME DAY with him literally saying he could negotiate with terrorists. Not only did he flip on the same day but he even said that during the interview he did not know Wolf was referring to the terrorists group Al Qaeda. If you watch the interview Wolf specifically mentions Al Qaeda. That's a flip/lie combo.
@scerplaya I googled these exact words which I spelled out in the video and while audio is heard of Obama speaking them: "'mental distress qualifies as health of the mother' obama" and the first two listings were an NPR link and a cbsnews article detailing what I describe.
@ensignbay You don't even show a flip here regarding his stance on late term abortions. MENTAL DISTRESS is completely different than SERIOUS MENTAL HEALTH DISEASE. You are seriously stretching here trying to prove that he is lying, and even by your attempt to take his words way out of context you fail to do so. You would fail any class in journalism. And if you are going to pretend to be a journalist then you should hold yourself up to a higher standard.
@scerplaya No, you're lazy. I documented dates and direct quotes. I can't spoon feed all liberals. If you really want to fact check, I've provided ample info to do so.
@ensignbay@ensignbay Hey, you may say I'm lazy, but my whole point is that most people will buy whatever you are saying without looking it up. Not fair journalism. How about using the video description area to link all the citations and videos that you are referring to?
@ensignbay Who said I was a liberal by the way? I just point out when people aren't being honest on both sides. Obama is not my boyfriend and I have no allegiance to him. You just seem hellbent on distorting facts to get your point across. As long as you continue to do so, I'll be right there to point it out.
PEOPLE NEED TO SWITCH PARTIES 12 WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE PRIMARIES IN MOST STATES.
IF YOU DO NOT SWITCH IN TIME YOU CANNOT VOTE IN PRIMARY.
IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED REPUBLICAN YOU CANNOT VOTE IN PRIMARY.
IF RON PAUL DOES NOT WIN PRIMARY, NO GENERAL ELECTION ! REGISTER AS A REPUBLICAN. FIND OUT WHEN YOUR STATE HAS PRIMARIES. FIND OUT WHERE AND VOTE VOTE VOTE ! PLEASE !
WE NEED EVERY LAST VOTE ! Copy vote up and paste this everywhere
@sandiegomitch Ron Paul has brilliant domestic ideas. His foreign policy is left of Obama and frankly, his blame-America mentality is despicable. Therefore, I will never and cannot ever support Ron Paul.
Boots on the ground played a part in the solution, but the major piece of the drop in violence within Iraq stems from a political pact. If that reconciliation between the Sunni and Shite Muslims never happened, their would still be a Civil war there, and no amount of troops would have stopped it.
Obama said troops wouldn't fix that problem, and it didn't, a political pact did.
Fact of the matter is that we weren't supposed to be in Iraq to begin with. The GOP behaves like modern cowboys.
i vote that he didnt mean to lie.. i think once he got in office.. he realized the powers that be.. meant to control him and would destroy him if he did not comply... or..maybe he is confused.. doubtful though.. or maybe he is a liar.. i would hate to think so regardless...i did not vote for him and greatly feared him winning... he didnt turn out as bad as i thought he would.. RON PAUL 2012
Obammie is one of the worst liars who have lived in the White House. This guy wouldn't have come close to being President if it weren't for the liberal mass media who portrayed this guy as the subject of the making of American history, as a flawless candidate, as a refreshing and different candidate. Fox News expose of Bill Ayers-Reverend Wright debacle, the slimy land deals, Obama's lack of experience, Michelle Obama's anti-American statements, were just dismissed as racism by the media.
@defragen1 As much as I loathe McCain, he would not have passed the big government, big taxation and unconstitutional Obamacare, and he wouldn't have spent $5 trillion dollars like Obama has. McCain would have been like spilled milk. Obama has been like a massive mud slide through the basement.
We have not had a real president since JFK and they sent a loud message to him and any future president that stands against them. Lets take back the Federal Reserve (Private owned Bank-there is nothing Federal about it) and get the big corporations out of government. Lets get the puppet masters The Bilderberg Group out of our Government.
@ensignbay You have erroneously claimed that Obama has raised taxes. I have challenged you to name one. When? Where? A single tax. You remain silent. Again. You have been proven wrong. Again. Doesn't this bother you in the slightest? It should. Being on the wrong side of fact and reality (again) is how you Conservatives (a person who is reluctant to accept changes and new ideas) continue to fail. Again.
I'm well aware of the history. But we're getting into argumentative territory here outside the original intent of my posts.
You're not going to convince me that Reagan was anymore appropriate for the Cold War era anymore than Walter Mondale might've been; All we know is that Reagan did the job very well. And the fall of the Soviet Union WAS a foregone conclusion after a point, they could not sustain themselves, and I could dig up a few papers detailing why this is true.
@gremlin66n What was Reagan's five point plan for ending the Cold War? What did Reagan do at the diplomatic meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland? What did Reagan do regarding oil that effected Russia?
My point is that you claiming Reagan and Mondale would have been about the same is like me claiming that football and crocket are the same. Read Peter Schweizer's book "Reagan's War: The Epic Story of His Forty Year Struggle and Final Triumph Over Communism."
@ensignbay Fine you know more about the Cold War. good on ya.
This is all outside the original point of my message. I should take back that thing about Mondale and Reagan being equal. that's not true. But it really has very little to do with what I was actually saying.
You're a little difficult to talk too. I never said Reagan was a bad guy, in fact I've defended him. You seem to be picking out points and trying to start an argument where none existed.
@gremlin66n I don't mean to be difficult. You seem like a reasonable guy. I jumped on your previous Reagan statements because they are at the heart of our national divide and what is wrong and right with our economy and our national security. There is a huge difference between the parties, though both have drifted left. Republicans have dropped the ball in defending limited government.
I'd like to hear your feedback on that Reagan book if you read it.
@ensignbay both parties have drifted left? So let me ask, do you believe there is a two-party dictatorship in the happening? and yes i agree Bush created a huge amount of bureacracy, after 9/11
what do you think of Ron Paul? I'll admit I can't always see the whole truth, but he sounds like he's the only person with a sensible approach to everything.
Also I have to confess I'm a canadian, but your politics is so more interesting than canada, ours is somewhat dry in the british way ;)
@gremlin66n I like hearing the Canadian perspective of the US! I support Ron Paul's limited-govt domestic ideas. His views on foreign policy, from what I've heard of them, I don't agree with at all.
Yes, both parties have drifted left-ward. George Bush, tho a Repub, was pro-big govt so he is mistakenly called a "Conservative". Reagan was a real Conservative. Contrast him with Bush and there's a divide.
The two party system has worked better than France's multi-party system, in my opinion.
@ensignbay our own political Conservatives party have been stolen by a man (stephen harper) who controls the gov't like a dictator, even though he was elected to a minority.
The multi-party system has problems, mostly in that votes are split up to the 3rd and 4th parties, where the Conservs or Libs might win a majority, too many votes go to the NDP socialists and thus create a weaker govt.
Obama is not interested in undoing anything Bush did but merely propping up the systems he created
@gremlin66n Interesting about your Canadian multi-party system. So, even though the two party system has flaws, it forces sides to speak to all in order to get votes.
There are many things I didn't like about Bush, some things I did. And you're right: Obama is keeping many, many of Bush's policies, for better or for worse.
Of course he's a liar, he's a politician, they're all liars. Didn't anyone tell you? You say whatever sounds good at the time to get you through whatever questions they ask and everyone falls for it, until you do something like and put a bunch of clips together...
I'm not pro-dem or pro-repub, i think they're both scum to be honest
really what we need is moderation you can't lean too far one way or the other...
@gremlin66n By saying "all politicians lie" you are essentially giving them a pass and lower the bar of our expectations. Not all politicians are liars. Some are true statesmen.
Why is moderation regarding our liberties a good thing? Were the founding fathers moderates? Are there some things worth going the distance on?
@ensignbay the problem with 'taking a stand' and 'going the distance' is that enough people are never going to agree with you; Now you have a deadlocked House and Senate and the other side kills good bills by delaying them for years; Nothing ever gets done because everyone refuses to agree. There CAN be moderation in government because it's the only way it can work, if your side gets it's way then there's still a large segment of people unhappy with the results. This is why politicians lie.
@gremlin66n Ronald Reagan took a stand and was reviled by big government liberals. But the country thrived after he cut the size of government and cut taxes. He also took a hard line stand against the Soviet Union and helped to bring them down.
And gridlock in Congress can be a good thing. Had we had more gridlock the last two years, we wouldn't be stuck with so many terrible laws like Obamacare that are keeping the economy down.
@ensignbay Aah the Reagan years. Taxes were down and everyone had a job. Truly the Golden Years of American history. I won't dispute you, Reagan was a good President, but precisely because of his moderate views.
Did you know he started his career as Dem and switched when 'the party abandoned him', in his own words?
His economics recieved bipartisan support and he was re-elected in 1984 by a landslide, and nobody wins that way leaning too far to one side; continued...
@ensignbay I'll bet a little research would show a large percentage of Dems and independents voting for him, because everything he did worked. You don't win elections by appealing only to one side, you must find votes from the opposition. He was a good President precisely because he gave concessions to the Dems.
Let me ask you this now, is there anyone to your mind, on the horizon who displays the ability and values of Ronald Reagan?
You're right in saying that Obama flip flopped on guns, gay marriage, nafta and Iran. But you're wrong in saying that the people should have voted for McCain. He wouldn't have been better.
@Sammicsno Believe me, I am no McCain supporter. I loathe the man. He has been a Trojan Horse in Conservatism: presenting himself as a Republican, but acting to undermine the cause again and again.
But be clear: McCain would not have staffed his administration with radical Leftists, would not have performed a hostile govt take-over of GM and Chrysler, would not have forced banks to take govt loans, would not have forced socialist healthcare on us.
@ensignbay So would you say that voting for McCain would have been voting for the lesser of 2 evils? Still voting for evil ... neither of these candidates would have gotten America what it needs .. both serving the new world order.
@Sammicsno Yes, McCain was a very poor option, but infinitely better than Obama. McCain would have been a disaster, but not in the catastrophic way that Obama is. It's like the difference between a misdemeaner and felony, spilled milk and a flooded basement.
@ensignbay P.S. who was the last TRUE statesman that you can think of? To my memory the most recent President's have been severely underwhelming, for both sides.
@gremlin66n Ronald Reagan. He wasn't perfect, but he honored the office of the president, loved the American people, and tried his hardest to cut govt down so it would work for us, not against us. He was also a true friend to those around the world battling the brutal hand of Communism.
@ensignbay Also the claim could be made, Reagan had it easy. No wars, he never did anything drastic, he never had any huge disasters to deal with. He was free to concentrate on true leadership and negotiated the end of the Cold War.
@gremlin66n Actually, that claim can not be made. The month Reagan was first inaugurated, the misery index (unemployment plus inflation) was 19.33%. Obama's was 7.73%. See miseryindex dot us.
Reagan also came to power in a world in crisis. Communism was on the march. The Soviet Union was aggressive and threatening war. We had an Iranian hostage situation.
Reagan had detailed plans for all of this and worked extremely hard to push his plan forward - and we all benefited from it.
@ensignbay Can we then agree that the severity of the Iranian Hostage Crisis is outweighed by something like 9/11 or the BP oil spill? Reagan did a great job talking to Gorbachev, but i'm going to go out on a limb here and speculate that the Soviet Union didn't want a war anymore than we did. It was all strong-arming; they push, we push back, a lot of yelling and threats. The threat of nuclear war existed, sure, but that's exactly why it never happened. We wouldn't be here now if it did.
@gremlin66n Go back and read your Cold War era history. It was deadly serious. Remember "mutually assured destruction"? You minimize Communism, the Iron Curtain, and the Soviet Union like it's fall was going to happen and all that was needed was a couple meetings. It was a decades long struggle, affecting billions of people imprisoned by communism and the USSR threatening the U.S. Communism in the 20th century was the cause of 100 million murders. These were not empty threats.
Remove anti-gun laws, and instate concealed weapons permits. Abolish the "reasonable force law" Legalize all drugs, even meth and heroin. this will destroy the cartels. Embrace the gold standard. this will render the FED powerless. destroy the federal government. if you manage all of these, crime rates will plummet dramatically. Abolish the fed. Implement full transparency. Its possible. just try, and stop trusting complete strangers to wipe your ass for ya..
I would sure like to see him take a lie detector test the gauge would go crazy!! Can't he tell the truth about anything ? Are you a true American citizen show us the birth certificate. Ask that one on the lie detector machine.
@035jdj What I'd like to ask him under oath strapped to a lie detector is what he REALLY wants to do legislatively. We know that he has Marxist tendencies and a Marxist view of the world, but I want him to say it.
Don't look to any of these scumbags for truth or honesty or leadership. Live your life, be kind to others, and support your community but don't buy into this horseshit.
bosshonu, unfortunately, there is a significant segment of our society that wants the heavy and powerful hand of government to take our private property (aka income) and to tell us what to do (regulations and mandates).
We have to get involved to elect leaders who will keep govt within its Constitutional limits. There are a few in D.C. who are doing this.
I obey a higher law. I believe that every being in the universe knows right from wrong. This constitution you speak of, is it the same one that sates blacks are 3/5 of a human being? That natives are non-humans? Quit clinging to the archaic notions of a bunch of dead European puritan slaveowners and EVOLVE.
bosshonu, YOU may obey a higher law, but many of your fellow citizens think nothing of stealing and cheating.
You are uninformed about the Constitution. The framers counted blacks as 3/5th of a human being so their slave owners would not have permanent majorities in Congress to keep slavery legal.
By the way, Africans also (and still do) practiced slavery, so don't pin it solely on Europeans and our framers.
@rkoliver1 Actually its a combination of Harry Anslinger, Nixon, FDR, and Wilson's treasonous betrayals that caused the events we see today. By placing the blame on bush, you're doing what people like Rockefeller want you to do. You're playing right into their hands. You're adults. it's time you all became independent of the government.
Until you all do so, you're all going to remain man-children forever..
The difference with Obama, and what makes him even worse, is that he presented and sold himself as new and different than other politicians. He sold himself as post-political, and yet, he is worse than the average politician.
@ensignbay Worse than the average politician? What does that mean? Sounds like a child's argument. He has followed through on many of his promises. The remaining promises have been filibustered by Republicans going out of there way to make him fail. Even on ideas that they agreed to when Bush was in office. Many have even said I WANT HIM TO FAIL. How selfish of a politician is that where they want a sitting president to fail. I never liked Bush, but did I want him to be a failure? NO!
@scerplaya Obama is worse than the average politician because Obama specifically sold himself as something new, someone outside the normal, mundane, business-as-usual politics. THAT makes him worse. Not to mention the fact that he is a major flip-flopper.
And any president who wants to do unconstitutional things, I wish they will fail. When Obama wants to spread the wealth, I want him to fail in those efforts.
I'm sorry but please name one president who contredicted himself this often in the past? Please tell me. Obama needs to pick a view. I opposed him from the start and oppose him today six months into his term. REPUBLICAN PRIDE!!!!!!
Germany was the most highly-mechanized nation in the world up till their defeat in 1945. Hitler, ironically, was funded by the same elitists who've groomed the Kenyan Obama.
OKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY ensignbay tell me which president kept ALL his promises. It's natural, in a psychological matter, that every human being is NOT perfect duuuh. Now, I think you should lift your butt of your computer chair and go do something like maybe run for president...HA it would be funny how you wouldnt't s*** better.ridiculous.pfff.
The point is that Obama portrayed himself as something new and different to politics. He's the one who set the bar and then failed to reach it. THAT's the point.
I'll tell you what Obama is for. He's for big government. Government taking control. Big spending. Telling us what to think and believe. How we run our businesses. Totalitarianism. Communism. Fascism. Etc. Just like the rest of the big government people in Washington D.C.!
I'll tell you what Obama is for. He's for big government. Government taking control. Big spending. Telling us what to think and believe. How we run our businesses. Totalitarianism. Communism. Fascism. Etc. Just like the rest of the fucks in
i have to agree that Obama has been lying. his veil is starting to crack. I did support him briefly but now I've come to the conclusion that pretty much every president has been a puppet to a higher power (not god) except for maybe John F. Kennedy who had opposed the Federal Reserve and wanted to start dismantling it... Obama is for wall street NOT main street.
Hay I got my authentic Obama presidential watch in the mail today!!! It is really authentic, instead of going tick tock, tick tock, it goes flip flop flip flop
(1) Pointing to other's bad behavior doesn't negate the original bad behavior. The "your guy does it, too" argument doesn't erase Obama's lies.
(2) Obama's big claim to the Whitehouse was that he is CHANGE, he transcends politics, he's new and different. YET, this video proves that he is no such thing. So what REALLY are his qualifications?
I don't think you really watched the entire video. The issues on which I exposed Obama's double-speak are not small issues. I didn't take anything out of context. He said these words. They are his. And he is dishonest. I thought he was supposed to transcend politics.
wow. so you spent like five minutes scrutinizing obama on pointless shit. Mccain supporters didnt even really support mccain they just spent all their time trying to make obama look as bad as possible with making completely outrageous accusations like calling him a terrorist. Honestly what the hell?
Wow.. bptroy123, you almost have that right but its opposite. Obama supporters didnt even know about Obama's policies and yet spent all their time making mccain look bad.. your an asshole and i present to you "MSNBC, The place for politics" What a fucking joke.
While I will admit that Obama is a better candidate than McCain, this video just proves that he is another typical politician. We will live with the same old lies, flip-flops, and pandering to special interests. Ensignbay, you forgot to mention how he flip-flopped 4 to 5 times on the issue of decriminalizing marijuana starting in a speech to Northwestern students in 2004. He is not the savior ppl make him out to be. I guess ppl are just okay ignoring his hypocrisy when talking of how gr8 he is.
This is silliness. You twisted his words to your own views and claim he's horrible. After 8 years, you're going to be happy. YOu may not like Obama still, but life will get better. This is someone that is genuine, truthful, and always subject to listen. If he's wrong, he admits it instead of like other politicians who tip toe with their mistakes, THEN when their unknown flip flop. Obama has some, with lack of a better word, balls that other politicans fail to have now a days.
thermo, The difference with Obama is that he presented himself as "transcending politics" and "post-political" so when he behaves like a dishonest politician, that means something.
Bin Laden himself said that Iraq was the main front on this war. Al Qaeda IS on the run. We've killed many of their leaders. That the Taliban is resurging in Afghanistan doesn't negate the facts I just stated. AND you are missing the main point: We have not had another attack on our soil since 9/11. Do you think that is b/c our enemies just gave up? No, it is b/c Bush. has done everything possible to keep us safe. I hope Obama will, too. I hope he keeps Al Qaeda on the run like G.W. has.
weakened our ability to defend ourselves from real problems. Furthermore it has caused the U.S to loose its merit as a world leader in the international community. Meanwhile, the tali ban is stronger than ever in Afghanistan as well as in Pakistan and Iran. You either apparently can't understand that, or have been duped by the Orwellian style Ministry of Truth that is all but transparent to those with the capacity to see through it. A corrupt gov and those who buy into it are the real threat.
ok, I watched the rest and nothing changes. your saying that I'm uneducated about the content of your video because i didn't originally stomach the whole thing is an invalid attack since your first point is not contingent upon the others. As to the situation in Iraq: What do you mean by victory is ours? Iraq is not the HQ of the Taliban, there were no WMD's, and the region is no more stable today then it was in 2003. All that has come of this is that the U.S is nearly bankrupt, which has^^^
Your comments are uneducated as to the content of my video which you didn't fully watch and as to the situation in Iraq. Victory in Iraq is ours and you can't stand that. We are succeeding in Iraq despite all the predictions and claims to the contrary by Obama.
TO ALL LIBS: I didn't parse his comments. He said them and you don't really want to believe what he really is. Time will show you.
or helpful to the overall cause. He said at that time that we were not seeing improvements and that the situation was worsening as more troops were added. And this was and is absolutely true! furthermore, The overall situation not necessarily being restricted to the scope of ground violence.
the condition there today is still worse than it was before we entered and our security is at risk because of this. one baby step forward does not supersede many more back. Leave this crap to Fauxnews!
ensignbay, your an idiot. I admit to not watching the last half of this but in regards to the first two minutes; non of what you presented is presented in an honest manor. I actually watched the debate he is referring to in regards to sending more troops and what he said is that simply adding more troops is not the solution, and that it hasn't worked in the past. He also added in that debate that it would of course reduce some violence on the ground level but that it would not be substantial..
A lot of those speeches are very neatly cut as well. The one at the beginning of the Iran threat looked very dicey, the voice, editing, nothing seemed to fit. But, I'll try to give you the benefit of the doubt.
Pointing to flip- flopping by McCain doesn't negate Obama's blatant lying and changing positions.
The entire premise behind Obama's campaign is that he is something new and different and beyond politics. My video proves he is just another dissembling, deceiving politician. What else does Obama have to qualify for the presidency?
no, it doesn't negate it. im just saying that all polititians are complete flip floppers, so u cant rlly hold it against him. well, u can, but u would hav to hold it against McCain and every other politian (George Bushe, anyone?)
But "transcending politics as usual" is Obama's claim to the presidency. Since he doesn't transcend politics, what else qualifies him for the Pres of the United States? Teaching law? Being a one-term senator? What? The truth is, ideology and "hope" is not enough.
McCain was wrong. I'm not a blind follower of any politician. What has Obama done that qualifies him to be POTUS? Not a lawyer, not a state senator, not a teacher, not a U.S. senator, but President of the United States?
Well im glad to hear that you don't blindly follow canadates, but Obama has 20+ years of experiance. I'd love to post websites, but i don't think I should. But seriosly, if you just research it, you can find non-biased sites talking about how he easily has enough experiance to be President.
Okay, but you didn't answer my question. Twenty + years of experience: what is this experience you speak of that qualifies him to be the Pres of the United States? Not a law professor, not a senator, but the President? Tell me, specifically.
Ok, specifically: Obama served 8 years (3 terms) in the Illinois senate, as well as 4 years in the U.S. senate. He also has 3 yrs as a community organizer in chicago, as well as misc debates and speeches at different times.
Wow, 12 whole years in politics. I suppose he has an extensive record of legislation you can point to that would indicate his ability to pass legislation, and his ability to unite. Don't search too long because it isn't there. Has he ever had to meet a payroll? No. Has he had to balance a budget? No. Did you know that he served on two charitable boards? He doesn't talk about that because the initiatives he funded were abject failures.-- No leadership experience. No legislative record.
And, of course, McCain being poked and prodded as a prisoner of war is much better. That makes him a leader. Also, as more of a response to your video, saying that Obama's decision on same-sex marriage is a big stretch. He has always said that he is not for gay marriage, but he will allow it. He always brought up his belief in civil unions. His response is actually similar to Palin's, in that they are opposed to it, but wish to allow it.
snow bunny, It's a little too late to try and get to know "Who Barack Obama Is". you've had over 12 months to figure it out, are you SLOW? Do you need remedial courses to try and educate yourself and why this harvard graduate is about to be YOUR next president. All this hatred coming from the right wing, what you need to do is find out who GEORGE W BUSH was and why so many of you idiots re-elected that idiot.
Obama is commited to the destruction of all americans and israel, jihad they call it, something really bad is going to happen soon in usa,I have been writing about this and no one listens, unfortunately I remember that a few weeks preceding 9 11 I also thought that something bad was about to happen and we know what happened, thats why I always since day one choose Hillary, a nice peaceful and honest woman, its a crime what they did to her by not counting the votes on florida and michigan.
oh come on. just out of interest i watched the second segment on gay marriage. you tend to take statements that complement each other out of context and see each statement as contradictions.
he is clearly for equal rights for same sex couples (= civil union) as the ones for marriage. civil union and marriage are the same in rights terms, but not the same in religious terms. he said this himself numerous times.
i think i stop here. i hoped you would disclose him, but you didn't.
seems you have not been paying attention properly, regarding the surge. i didn't bother watching the second one because this is clearly just about seeing what you want to see.
he said: placing 30.000 troops in iraq is not going to have a lasting effect in the long term. it is surely having an effect in the short term, but not in the long term. how do these observations conflict with each other?
as for comment below: McCain also said loving things about ACORN. ACORN is imperfect. Granted. So?
and, yes, Obama IS different. Read what some conservative INTELLECTUALS have been saying. No, Sean Hannity is not included in that category. Not all, since integrity is oft trumped by partisan zealotry, Alas.
Your inability to understand anything which is even slightly complex prequalifies you to support John McCain. Just believe everything he says and don't worry about a thing.
OR...
Surge: tactic not strategy. No long term success.
Abortion: SERIOUS mental health problem is not the same as a SLIGHT problem
NAFTA Strategy: Has problems, needs fixing.
Best tactic: remains to be seen
IRAN: not serious COMPARED TO RUSSIA (the part you cut out)
I've watched several of the interviews you've taken excerpts from...you've cut off much of his speeches to make it sound as though he said one thing and then another not that this isn't happening to McCain but...this is why thses aren't TV commercials..all they have to do to clear things up is show the full clip of the speech...but hey if it gets people convinced you do what you wanna do....DirtyPoliticsDemsandRep....MoveOn
McCain supporters really need to work very hard to find things about Obama that seem like he lied or changed his core beliefs. This is the best I've seen (and it obviously is pretty weak).
Are you blinded by his charisma? A lot of people are. Are you still going to vote Obama since the information about ACORN has been revealed? Clinton should have won the Caucus. Election fraud is unacceptable. If you want to vote for a great black candidate take a look at Alan Keyes. He is the one I would vote for if he was in the race in my state.
of course. i'm not blinded by his charisma. i dont even care about that. most of the things in this video and elsewhere are exaggerations or lies. Everyone makes mistakes and nobody is perfect. He'll be president and he'll be one of the best ever.
One other thing: do you want your president to cling staunchly to his views even as people's opinion is clearly different, or would you want a president whose views ARE your views, who would change course on policy given enough popular support (and, obviously, enough justification and evidence)?
Obama, and the rest of us, have the right to change our minds whenever we receive additional information that suggests our previous train of thought was off-track. The only thing you can blame someone for is for holding those opinions in the first place, you should CREDIT them for changing them. Obama is lucky because the opinions he "flip-flopped" are don't show a lack of judgment.
Second, you contrast statements that sometimes are not directly contradicting each other but reflecting a nuance that exists in reality. Only a retard would think of the world a la Sarah Palin, "good guys" and "bad guys", black and white. I like Obama because he is honest with the American people, doesn't try to dumb everything down to Us Vs. Them, and actually tried to get nuance across. Subtlety that is clearly lost on you.
You still don't get it, ensignbay. I'm far from an Obama fanatic, but I need to keep perspective on this:
First, again, your examples are NOTHING compared to the "flip-flops" of McCain, Bush, Hillary, and even old Bill himself. I don't know when it became a cardinal political sin for an intelligent individual to change his mind. Any smart person is always open to changing his mind. Only someone who is very arrogant, self-absorbed, and stupid can claim to be 100% sure about anything
You make a good point. Changing your mind on an issue can be a sign of good judgement, for example, Gov. Palin on the bridge that was proposed in Ketchikan. It would have been good for Ketchikan but the population that it served would be so small that it made sense to put the money elsewhere.
i dont know how anyone can think of voting for him when he does things like this- they're all over sarah palin because she got confused about WHICH bush doctrine the news guy was asking her about- and yet no one mentions this! i dont get it..... JOHN MCCAIN 2008!
While I'd like to give Obama some credit by saying most of his reversals are probably due to his massive inexperience, I think the more accurate statement is that he is a political panderer peppered by his inexperience.
Planewaves, you might want to watch the video response I posted for you above. When you rely on a liar, you will get burned. Obama has left the possibility of keeping troops in Iraq wide open and is even recommending adding troops in Afghanistan.
Well, planewaves, please keep in mind that those who went to Iraq VOLUNTEERED to. It was their courageous choice to go defend democracy. You have no reason to blame McCain.
And one more thing. How many terrorist attacks have we had since the War on Terror began in 2001? NONE. compare that to how many we had between the 1992 WTC bombing and 2001 (the Clinton years).
Sock Puppet.

If you can't sight your quotes or show actual videos of alleged flips by Obama you shouldn't show them. It really looks like you are stretching hard to make him look bad rather than show an unbiased view of his statements as they stand. You are no better than FOX NEWS when you edit your films this way.
scerplaya 3 months ago
@scerplaya I showed Obama changing positions, in his own words, on video. What more do you want?
ensignbay 3 months ago
@ensignbay On the second point about gay marriage. Obama was never for gay marriage and was always for civil unions. Just because he says in a letter (which you should cite where to find it so people can read the entire context) is that he is against efforts to amend the constitution. He does say in the follow-up video that these decisions should be made at a state and local level, but that doesn't mean he can't write a letter saying he opposes the decision to try to amend the constitution.
scerplaya 3 months ago
On the NAFTA thing, you don't have any video. You need to site the actual fortune magazine article, because you just took some random quote out of it and say it is his response to "when asked if he would change his stance on NAFTA". Then you have ONE video of an advisor saying he is looking into strengthening NAFTA. It's hearsay and wouldn't even stand up in court. Surely, you have actual video of HIM saying it?
scerplaya 3 months ago
As for the abortion issue: You have quotes that aren't even cited and completely taken out of any context. So we are just supposed to take your word at this? All I'm saying is that if you are gonna make claims of a flip flop you should do your part and use quotes from articles that you cite (so people can check them out) and also use video were you don't just take an excerpt out of context. It is so easy to do with anyone to make any point you want.
scerplaya 3 months ago
@scerplaya I provide plenty of context and citation that if you wanted to, you can verify. Dates, direct quotes, etc.
ensignbay 3 months ago
@ensignbay Your first response to me was that you showed Obama changing positions in his own words on video. Well, the only one where you have him on video actual saying something close to a flip was the one about the surge. The remaining points you try to make are not proven by him on video. Just saying your journalism could be a little better.
scerplaya 3 months ago
A flip would be something like Herman Cain saying during the last debate that he would NEVER negotiate with terrorists even though there is a video interview with Wolf Blitzer EARLIER THE SAME DAY with him literally saying he could negotiate with terrorists. Not only did he flip on the same day but he even said that during the interview he did not know Wolf was referring to the terrorists group Al Qaeda. If you watch the interview Wolf specifically mentions Al Qaeda. That's a flip/lie combo.
scerplaya 3 months ago
@scerplaya I googled these exact words which I spelled out in the video and while audio is heard of Obama speaking them: "'mental distress qualifies as health of the mother' obama" and the first two listings were an NPR link and a cbsnews article detailing what I describe.
ensignbay 3 months ago
@ensignbay You don't even show a flip here regarding his stance on late term abortions. MENTAL DISTRESS is completely different than SERIOUS MENTAL HEALTH DISEASE. You are seriously stretching here trying to prove that he is lying, and even by your attempt to take his words way out of context you fail to do so. You would fail any class in journalism. And if you are going to pretend to be a journalist then you should hold yourself up to a higher standard.
scerplaya 3 months ago
@scerplaya No, you're lazy. I documented dates and direct quotes. I can't spoon feed all liberals. If you really want to fact check, I've provided ample info to do so.

@ensignbay @ensignbay Hey, you may say I'm lazy, but my whole point is that most people will buy whatever you are saying without looking it up. Not fair journalism. How about using the video description area to link all the citations and videos that you are referring to?

Boots on the ground played a part in the solution, but the major piece of the drop in violence within Iraq stems from a political pact. If that reconciliation between the Sunni and Shite Muslims never happened, their would still be a Civil war there, and no amount of troops would have stopped it.
Obama said troops wouldn't fix that problem, and it didn't, a political pact did.
Fact of the matter is that we weren't supposed to be in Iraq to begin with. The GOP behaves like modern cowboys.

I'm well aware of the history. But we're getting into argumentative territory here outside the original intent of my posts.
You're not going to convince me that Reagan was anymore appropriate for the Cold War era anymore than Walter Mondale might've been; All we know is that Reagan did the job very well. And the fall of the Soviet Union WAS a foregone conclusion after a point, they could not sustain themselves, and I could dig up a few papers detailing why this is true.
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n What was Reagan's five point plan for ending the Cold War? What did Reagan do at the diplomatic meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland? What did Reagan do regarding oil that effected Russia?
My point is that you claiming Reagan and Mondale would have been about the same is like me claiming that football and crocket are the same. Read Peter Schweizer's book "Reagan's War: The Epic Story of His Forty Year Struggle and Final Triumph Over Communism."
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay Fine you know more about the Cold War. good on ya.
This is all outside the original point of my message. I should take back that thing about Mondale and Reagan being equal. that's not true. But it really has very little to do with what I was actually saying.
You're a little difficult to talk too. I never said Reagan was a bad guy, in fact I've defended him. You seem to be picking out points and trying to start an argument where none existed.
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n I don't mean to be difficult. You seem like a reasonable guy. I jumped on your previous Reagan statements because they are at the heart of our national divide and what is wrong and right with our economy and our national security. There is a huge difference between the parties, though both have drifted left. Republicans have dropped the ball in defending limited government.
I'd like to hear your feedback on that Reagan book if you read it.

gremlin66n 1 year ago
@ensignbay both parties have drifted left? So let me ask, do you believe there is a two-party dictatorship in the happening? and yes i agree Bush created a huge amount of bureacracy, after 9/11
what do you think of Ron Paul? I'll admit I can't always see the whole truth, but he sounds like he's the only person with a sensible approach to everything.
Also I have to confess I'm a canadian, but your politics is so more interesting than canada, ours is somewhat dry in the british way ;)
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n I like hearing the Canadian perspective of the US! I support Ron Paul's limited-govt domestic ideas. His views on foreign policy, from what I've heard of them, I don't agree with at all.
Yes, both parties have drifted left-ward. George Bush, tho a Repub, was pro-big govt so he is mistakenly called a "Conservative". Reagan was a real Conservative. Contrast him with Bush and there's a divide.
The two party system has worked better than France's multi-party system, in my opinion.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay our own political Conservatives party have been stolen by a man (stephen harper) who controls the gov't like a dictator, even though he was elected to a minority.
The multi-party system has problems, mostly in that votes are split up to the 3rd and 4th parties, where the Conservs or Libs might win a majority, too many votes go to the NDP socialists and thus create a weaker govt.
Obama is not interested in undoing anything Bush did but merely propping up the systems he created
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n Interesting about your Canadian multi-party system. So, even though the two party system has flaws, it forces sides to speak to all in order to get votes.
There are many things I didn't like about Bush, some things I did. And you're right: Obama is keeping many, many of Bush's policies, for better or for worse.
ensignbay 1 year ago
Of course he's a liar, he's a politician, they're all liars. Didn't anyone tell you? You say whatever sounds good at the time to get you through whatever questions they ask and everyone falls for it, until you do something like and put a bunch of clips together...
I'm not pro-dem or pro-repub, i think they're both scum to be honest
really what we need is moderation you can't lean too far one way or the other...
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n By saying "all politicians lie" you are essentially giving them a pass and lower the bar of our expectations. Not all politicians are liars. Some are true statesmen.
Why is moderation regarding our liberties a good thing? Were the founding fathers moderates? Are there some things worth going the distance on?
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay the problem with 'taking a stand' and 'going the distance' is that enough people are never going to agree with you; Now you have a deadlocked House and Senate and the other side kills good bills by delaying them for years; Nothing ever gets done because everyone refuses to agree. There CAN be moderation in government because it's the only way it can work, if your side gets it's way then there's still a large segment of people unhappy with the results. This is why politicians lie.
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n Ronald Reagan took a stand and was reviled by big government liberals. But the country thrived after he cut the size of government and cut taxes. He also took a hard line stand against the Soviet Union and helped to bring them down.
And gridlock in Congress can be a good thing. Had we had more gridlock the last two years, we wouldn't be stuck with so many terrible laws like Obamacare that are keeping the economy down.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay Aah the Reagan years. Taxes were down and everyone had a job. Truly the Golden Years of American history. I won't dispute you, Reagan was a good President, but precisely because of his moderate views.
Did you know he started his career as Dem and switched when 'the party abandoned him', in his own words?
His economics recieved bipartisan support and he was re-elected in 1984 by a landslide, and nobody wins that way leaning too far to one side; continued...
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@ensignbay I'll bet a little research would show a large percentage of Dems and independents voting for him, because everything he did worked. You don't win elections by appealing only to one side, you must find votes from the opposition. He was a good President precisely because he gave concessions to the Dems.
Let me ask you this now, is there anyone to your mind, on the horizon who displays the ability and values of Ronald Reagan?
gremlin66n 1 year ago
You're right in saying that Obama flip flopped on guns, gay marriage, nafta and Iran. But you're wrong in saying that the people should have voted for McCain. He wouldn't have been better.

Sammicsno 1 year ago
@Sammicsno Believe me, I am no McCain supporter. I loathe the man. He has been a Trojan Horse in Conservatism: presenting himself as a Republican, but acting to undermine the cause again and again.
But be clear: McCain would not have staffed his administration with radical Leftists, would not have performed a hostile govt take-over of GM and Chrysler, would not have forced banks to take govt loans, would not have forced socialist healthcare on us.

@ensignbay P.S. who was the last TRUE statesman that you can think of? To my memory the most recent President's have been severely underwhelming, for both sides.
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n Ronald Reagan. He wasn't perfect, but he honored the office of the president, loved the American people, and tried his hardest to cut govt down so it would work for us, not against us. He was also a true friend to those around the world battling the brutal hand of Communism.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay Also the claim could be made, Reagan had it easy. No wars, he never did anything drastic, he never had any huge disasters to deal with. He was free to concentrate on true leadership and negotiated the end of the Cold War.
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n Actually, that claim can not be made. The month Reagan was first inaugurated, the misery index (unemployment plus inflation) was 19.33%. Obama's was 7.73%. See miseryindex dot us.
Reagan also came to power in a world in crisis. Communism was on the march. The Soviet Union was aggressive and threatening war. We had an Iranian hostage situation.
Reagan had detailed plans for all of this and worked extremely hard to push his plan forward - and we all benefited from it.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay Can we then agree that the severity of the Iranian Hostage Crisis is outweighed by something like 9/11 or the BP oil spill? Reagan did a great job talking to Gorbachev, but i'm going to go out on a limb here and speculate that the Soviet Union didn't want a war anymore than we did. It was all strong-arming; they push, we push back, a lot of yelling and threats. The threat of nuclear war existed, sure, but that's exactly why it never happened. We wouldn't be here now if it did.
gremlin66n 1 year ago
@gremlin66n Go back and read your Cold War era history. It was deadly serious. Remember "mutually assured destruction"? You minimize Communism, the Iron Curtain, and the Soviet Union like it's fall was going to happen and all that was needed was a couple meetings. It was a decades long struggle, affecting billions of people imprisoned by communism and the USSR threatening the U.S. Communism in the 20th century was the cause of 100 million murders. These were not empty threats.

bosshonu, YOU may obey a higher law, but many of your fellow citizens think nothing of stealing and cheating.
You are uninformed about the Constitution. The framers counted blacks as 3/5th of a human being so their slave owners would not have permanent majorities in Congress to keep slavery legal.
By the way, Africans also (and still do) practiced slavery, so don't pin it solely on Europeans and our framers.

@ensignbay Worse than the average politician? What does that mean? Sounds like a child's argument. He has followed through on many of his promises.
So what REALLY are his qualifications?

bptroy123,
I don't think you really watched the entire video. The issues on which I exposed Obama's double-speak are not small issues. I didn't take anything out of context. He said these words. They are his. And he is dishonest. I thought he was supposed to transcend politics.
ensignbay 3 years ago
wow. so you spent like five minutes scrutinizing obama on pointless shit. Mccain supporters didnt even really support mccain they just spent all their time trying to make obama look as bad as possible with making completely outrageous accusations like calling him a terrorist. Honestly what the hell?
bptroy123 3 years ago
Wow.. bptroy123, you almost have that right but its opposite.

I guess ppl are just okay ignoring his hypocrisy when talking of how gr8 he is.
rks171 3 years ago
This is silliness. You twisted his words to your own views and claim he's horrible. After 8 years, you're going to be happy. YOu may not like Obama still, but life will get better. This is someone that is genuine, truthful, and always subject to listen. If he's wrong, he admits it instead of like other politicians who tip toe with their mistakes, THEN when their unknown flip flop. Obama has some, with lack of a better word, balls that other politicans fail to have now a days.
kireraven 3 years ago 4
thermo, The difference with Obama is that he presented himself as "transcending politics" and "post-political" so when he behaves like a dishonest politician, that means something.
ensignbay 3 years ago
in simple terms, i believe all voters must make one very fundamental consideration when electing a president:
choosing the lesser of two evils.
there are just as many well documented flip-flops for the other candiates.
summation:
generally speaking, ALL politicians "mold" and "re-mold" to positions which are held by the majority of their constituents and special interests.

Kinzey,
Bin Laden himself said that Iraq was the main front on this war.

KIINZEY 3 years ago
ok, I watched the rest and nothing changes. your saying that I'm uneducated about the content of your video because i didn't originally stomach the whole thing is an invalid attack since your first point is not contingent upon the others. As to the situation in Iraq: What do you mean by victory is ours? Iraq is not the HQ of the Taliban, there were no WMD's, and the region is no more stable today then it was in 2003. All that has come of this is that the U.S is nearly bankrupt, which has^^^
KIINZEY 3 years ago
Kinzey,
Your comments are uneducated as to the content of my video which you didn't fully watch and as to the situation in Iraq.

KIINZEY 3 years ago
ensignbay, your an idiot.

Pointing to flip- flopping by McCain doesn't negate Obama's blatant lying and changing positions.
The entire premise behind Obama's campaign is that he is something new and different and beyond politics. My video proves he is just another dissembling, deceiving politician. What else does Obama have to qualify for the presidency?
ensignbay 3 years ago
no, it doesn't negate it. im just saying that all polititians are complete flip floppers, so u cant rlly hold it against him. well, u can, but u would hav to hold it against McCain and every other politian (George Bushe, anyone?)
nivekpsycic 3 years ago
But "transcending politics as usual" is Obama's claim to the presidency. Since he doesn't transcend politics, what else qualifies him for the Pres of the United States? Teaching law? Being a one-term senator? What? The truth is, ideology and "hope" is not enough.
ensignbay 3 years ago
Even McCain admits that Obama is qualified to be president, he just believes that his experiacne qualifies him more.
nivekpsycic 3 years ago
McCain was wrong. I'm not a blind follower of any politician. What has Obama done that qualifies him to be POTUS? Not a lawyer, not a state senator, not a teacher, not a U.S. senator, but President of the United States?
ensignbay 3 years ago
Well im glad to hear that you don't blindly follow canadates, but Obama has 20+ years of experiance. I'd love to post websites, but i don't think I should. But seriosly, if you just research it, you can find non-biased sites talking about how he easily has enough experiance to be President.
nivekpsycic 3 years ago
Okay, but you didn't answer my question. Twenty + years of experience: what is this experience you speak of that qualifies him to be the Pres of the United States? Not a law professor, not a senator, but the President? Tell me, specifically.
ensignbay 3 years ago
Ok, specifically: Obama served 8 years (3 terms) in the Illinois senate, as well as 4 years in the U.S. senate. He also has 3 yrs as a community organizer in chicago, as well as misc debates and speeches at different times.
nivekpsycic 3 years ago
Wow, 12 whole years in politics. I suppose he has an extensive record of legislation you can point to that would indicate his ability to pass legislation, and his ability to unite. Don't search too long because it isn't there. Has he ever had to meet a payroll? No. Has he had to balance a budget? No. Did you know that he served on two charitable boards? He doesn't talk about that because the initiatives he funded were abject failures.-- No leadership experience. No legislative record.
ensignbay 3 years ago
And, of course, McCain being poked and prodded as a prisoner of war is much better. That makes him a leader. Also, as more of a response to your video, saying that Obama's decision on same-sex marriage is a big stretch. He has always said that he is not for gay marriage, but he will allow it. He always brought up his belief in civil unions. His response is actually similar to Palin's, in that they are opposed to it, but wish to allow it.
nivekpsycic 3 years ago
honostly, hav u seen the tons of vids about McCain's flip floppin? HE flips around more than Obama! seriously...

snow bunny, It's a little too late to try and get to know "Who Barack Obama Is". you've had over 12 months to figure it out, are you SLOW? Do you need remedial courses to try and educate yourself and why this harvard graduate is about to be YOUR next president. All this hatred coming from the right wing, what you need to do is find out who GEORGE W BUSH was and why so many of you idiots re-elected that idiot.

Obama is commited to the destruction of all americans and israel, jihad they call it, something really bad is going to happen soon in usa,I have been writing about this and no one listens, unfortunately I remember that a few weeks preceding 9 11 I also thought that something bad was about to happen and we know what happened, thats why I always since day one choose Hillary, a nice peaceful and honest woman, its a crime what they did to her by not counting the votes on florida and michigan.

oh come on. just out of interest i watched the second segment on gay marriage. you tend to take statements that complement each other out of context and see each statement as contradictions.
he is clearly for equal rights for same sex couples (= civil union) as the ones for marriage. civil union and marriage are the same in rights terms, but not the same in religious terms. he said this himself numerous times.
i think i stop here. i hoped you would disclose him, but you didn't.
paniq303 3 years ago
seems you have not been paying attention properly, regarding the surge. i didn't bother watching the second one because this is clearly just about seeing what you want to see.
he said: placing 30.000 troops in iraq is not going to have a lasting effect in the long term. it is surely having an effect in the short term, but not in the long term. how do these observations conflict with each other?
paniq303 3 years ago
as for comment below: McCain also said loving things about ACORN. ACORN is imperfect. Granted. So?
and, yes, Obama IS different. Read what some conservative INTELLECTUALS have been saying. No, Sean Hannity is not included in that category. Not all, since integrity is oft trumped by partisan zealotry, Alas.
hanramo 3 years ago
Your inability to understand anything which is even slightly complex prequalifies you to support John McCain. Just believe everything he says and don't worry about a thing.
OR...
Surge: tactic not strategy. No long term success.
Abortion: SERIOUS mental health problem is not the same as a SLIGHT problem
NAFTA Strategy: Has problems, needs fixing.
Best tactic: remains to be seen
IRAN: not serious COMPARED TO RUSSIA (the part you cut out)
hanramo 3 years ago
I've watched several of the interviews you've taken excerpts from...you've cut off much of his speeches to make it sound as though he said one thing and then another not that this isn't happening to McCain but...this is why thses aren't TV commercials..all they have to do to clear things up is show the full clip of the speech...but hey if it gets people convinced you do what you wanna do....DirtyPoliticsDemsandRep....MoveOn

Are you blinded by his charisma? A lot of people are. Are you still going to vote Obama since the information about ACORN has been revealed? Clinton should have won the Caucus. Election fraud is unacceptable. If you want to vote for a great black candidate take a look at Alan Keyes. He is the one I would vote for if he was in the race in my state.
maharvey907 3 years ago
of course. i'm not blinded by his charisma. i dont even care about that. most of the things in this video and elsewhere are exaggerations or lies. Everyone makes mistakes and nobody is perfect. He'll be president and he'll be one of the best ever.
Alan Keyes is awesome tho.

I can't stand two-faced politicians...oh wait, that means all of them! Haha!
Toshee 3 years ago
One other thing: do you want your president to cling staunchly to his views even as people's opinion is clearly different, or would you want a president whose views ARE your views, who would change course on policy given enough popular support (and, obviously, enough justification and evidence)?
zsbrocaveli 3 years ago
Obama, and the rest of us, have the right to change our minds whenever we receive additional information that suggests our previous train of thought was off-track. The only thing you can blame someone for is for holding those opinions in the first place, you should CREDIT them for changing them. Obama is lucky because the opinions he "flip-flopped" are don't show a lack of judgment.
zsbrocaveli 3 years ago
Second, you contrast statements that sometimes are not directly contradicting each other but reflecting a nuance that exists in reality. Only a retard would think of the world a la Sarah Palin, "good guys" and "bad guys", black and white. I like Obama because he is honest with the American people, doesn't try to dumb everything down to Us Vs. Them, and actually tried to get nuance across. Subtlety that is clearly lost on you.
zsbrocaveli 3 years ago
You still don't get it, ensignbay. I'm far from an Obama fanatic, but I need to keep perspective on this:
First, again, your examples are NOTHING compared to the "flip-flops" of McCain, Bush, Hillary, and even old Bill himself. I don't know when it became a cardinal political sin for an intelligent individual to change his mind. Any smart person is always open to changing his mind. Only someone who is very arrogant, self-absorbed, and stupid can claim to be 100% sure about anything
zsbrocaveli 3 years ago
You make a good point. Changing your mind on an issue can be a sign of good judgement, for example, Gov. Palin on the bridge that was proposed in Ketchikan. It would have been good for Ketchikan but the population that it served would be so small that it made sense to put the money elsewhere.
maharvey907 3 years ago

Planewaves, you might want to watch the video response I posted for you above. When you rely on a liar, you will get burned. Obama has left the possibility of keeping troops in Iraq wide open and is even recommending adding troops in Afghanistan.
ensignbay 3 years ago
Well, planewaves, please keep in mind that those who went to Iraq VOLUNTEERED to. It was their courageous choice to go defend democracy. You have no reason to blame McCain.
And one more thing. How many terrorist attacks have we had since the War on Terror began in 2001? NONE. compare that to how many we had between the 1992 WTC bombing and 2001 (the Clinton years).
The end.
