this episode reminds me of my childhood and remembering when I used to re-enacted these episodes with my wooden railway engines,:`) I WANT MY CHILDHOOD BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@thing2liv Look at the tracks side by side, Rusty's were narrower. And he and Stephany were never on the same track b/c he needed the full width. Having narrow line and full line that close together for that long seems strange though. I'll admit the whole thing confused me as a child though b/c it seemed like Stephany was on both sets of track during his appearances. For a another question why is Stephany a boy? Wouldn't the poor engine rather be Stephan, lol.
As much as I don't like how Britt Allcroft tried to minimize references to British Railways, the music in this episode is some of the best and adventurous
Michael made a mistake in this ep, because when Rusty arrives to fetch Stepney, he at first says the engine then he says Stepney had a good head of steam, and at the end he says 'His name is Stepney'. He should have said 'the engine' in the scrapyards and saved announcing his name until the end. Ah well.
@luke9620 The real story from the Railway Series would have been a bit too "bland" for the series. I mean, it's Douglas talking about Stepney and then he arrives totally out the blue. In this, we experience Stepney getting rescued and Rusty gets a lead role, something he never really had in the Railway Series.
"where the diesels work" is ment to be outside of sodor but they full the set with SODOR diesels kinda cheap they could have made the diesels from the RWS bear D199 ect
Its funny how a engine named Rusty saved another engine from becoming Rust. When they first showed Stephney's driver he looked like a hobo in a old train
LOL,Pause At 2:38 and you will se The FFAR on that diesel to the right of Rusty. Giving out it was Mavis, but, anyone could tell it was her to start with.
Yes he didn't like this episode as he felt it was disrespectful to the people that rescued Stepney in real life but it isn't the only one he didn't like he didn't like Henry's Forest either because he felt it was unrealistic.
correct me if im wrong. But it looks like thatcould be diesel 10 at 2:10. the far bottom right corner it looks like him. and if it is, this proves that tatmr wasd filmed after season 4
No, it's a scrap engine, but you do see the diesel from "Bowled Out" at 2:38 and 3:29 close to the center of the screen nearest Rusty, but always on the left of Rusty.
Now why do the Narrow Gauge tracks lead to The Other Railway through where the diesels dwell as well as to the scrapyard where Stepney was sitting? No wonder Rusty is the first Narrow Gauge engine to come out of Sodor.
Interesting, that. This was the first episode in which I saw Rusty, and I couldn't work out whether the character was male or female (no clues in the narrative)...

one thing i don't get: how could rusty have gotten to the other railway if he's narrow-gauge?
MrAssassinkid17 5 months ago
@MrAssassinkid17 it is odd, no narrow gauge line is connected to the bluebell railway.
