Funny lots of people say Met "sold out" for this album. Well, news flash, Megadeth released an "alternative" style album in the same time period. As much a fan of Metallica and Megadeth as I am, the Meg album was.... subpar for what would normally be expected of their level of talent. Load and Re-Load had good songs and bad songs (as do ALL albums regardless of who releases them). I was always fond of these two Met releases.
LOAD= bluesy, jazzy, authentic, original, classic, beautiful, mature, touching yet powerful and strong, interesting, sincere. One of the best music Metallica has ever produced, unappreciated by those who only need speed and screams so they can jump and fight at the mush pit. I wish so much Metallica could do something like this again...

The raw emotion that James conveys on this song is phenomenal, and a performance for the ages. I believe that James did some of his best work (vocally) on Load, and he displays such amazing talent on here.

kk... i think i can relate this song to the death of my father when he did himself in. he crashed on purpose "caught under wheel's roll" i feel so bad for him... i wish i could go back in time and convince him to not do it. i was literally retarded back then so i couldn't do anything, but after he left, i became the smartest person i know, and being a therapist for people is kind of a hobby of mine... i could have helped him if i knew...

@imawesome432 The songs on St. Anger were way too repetitive. When you have 7 to 8 minute tracks with no solos the tracks are going to be lame. If they were to redo St. Anger they would need to remove about half of the repetitive vocals and add guitar solo's. If they did that St. Anger could be good.

anyone that says St Anger was/is shit is not a good listener.. that has very good writting and just because there is no solos doesnt mean its bad music. at first i wasnt real pleased with it but once i listened to it more and more it has really great MetallicA style riffs and drums. the music is fantasic and if youre a REAL musician or 'tallica fan you will realilze this.

@Mr76Blitz I liked St. Anger but I feel like it was a little too repetitive at times. The title track definitely could've been cut down by a few minutes. Plus you gotta admit that the production sucked. Other than that it's not a bad album, but compared to other Metallica albums it's just a bit subpar.

@woodysdeath I respect your opinion, but disagree. I felt St. Anger had potential, but somehow everything didn't come together as it should have... I can't put my finger on it but something about it completely ruined it for me. But some of the songs do have potential.

@imawesome432 The songs on St. Anger were way too repetitive. When you have 7 to 8 minute tracks with no solos the tracks are going to be lame. If they were to redo St. Anger they would need to remove about half of the repetitive vocals and add guitar solo's. If they did that St. Anger could be good.
