What an excellent movie. I enjoyed & respected how it intertwined a love story (that which life is truly made of) with the cold harsh reality of war, death and loss.

evil is a point of view, and the developement of the nuclear bomb was a kindness by the US. Just after the yalta conference, the US and Russia agreed to take japan jointly, and the Russians and Japanese hate each other from the Russo-Japanese War. Japan would be far worse off if it fell under the iron curtain, so the US actually did it a favor. Why do you think the nazis went running to surrender to the westerners rather than the Russians? West upheld the Geneva convention, Russia didnt.

Then they gave them another chance to surrender before they dropped the second bomb. The Nazi used Jews for all sorts of twisted experiments. Others were used for target practice.

Hitler though a good leader a powerful speaker that rallied thousands to his cause, he was a monster. Obviously you know nothing about Asian pride and honor. Note that noone fought against Communism except for the evil Nazis and a bunch of free partisans in countries like Poland. We, Poles were fighting side by side with the Brits, French, Americans and many more. After the war you were bathing in freedom, while we had to suffer terror worse than Nazism. Why? Because you traded our freedom for your freedom in Yalta. This is not how real allies should act. This is behavior of traitors. We can't forgive it.

What an excellent movie. I enjoyed & respected how it intertwined a love story (that which life is truly made of) with the cold harsh reality of war, death and loss.
I have heard some speak dispassionately of what they dismiss as a simple love story yet always they are those who's lives are bleak & devoid of fulness, lacking love & it's resplendent passion.
I imagine, for them all of life is disappointment.
But for they whom are truly alive, all of life is a promise of hope's best to come.
