e' un peccato che il direttore sia cosi' poco ispirato perche' il tenore anche se ha una brutta voce sembra essere sensibile e portato ad un canto ispirato.
A gentler reading than either of those that I have, though I somehow don't like Ferrari's reliance on the head voice (Siragusa has the same preference), and just a little more body to the voice would have been most welcome. I also miss the vocal smile in both Siragusa's and Ferrari's renditions, the tenor in Fisher's version has it in abundance, but he is just a bit too loud for the canzone to be fully effective (I will though try to upload it). Still, a most interesting version :).
Also, it's a pity that the third stanza was cut, its' absence makes the piece a bit unfinished, as if a part of an intricate mechanism has been lost but is not yet replaced :).

Alessandrini non è sempre all'altezza di se stesso; il tenore non mi pare all'altezza di Paisiello...

la voce non è brillante perchè non appoggia bene.
musicale ed intonato.

Beautiful. Kubrick used this cavatina in his movie Barry Lyndon, one of the most beautiful ever made. Absolutely fantastic.

It really makes no sense to cut it. How many time did it save? 1 minute? There's already big enough cuts in the secco recitative.

What album is this from?

It's from a radio broadcast of a live performance of this opera, no official recording.
