The funny thing was when Bob Z of Bad News fanzine said they sounded like Metal. Shitheads like Ralphy Boy from Squat or Rot said that Bob Z deserved to be beaten up. Not very peaceful from so-called peace punk. Nausea were a great band but their fans were a bunch of hypocritical bastards.

That bass sound is incredible! It must be a result of whoever's amp/guitar/recording studio made it, but the same sound is similar in other NYC bands of the time like Born Against and (ex-Nausea?) band Word Made Flesh. So massive!!
