i go to this camp and its amazing! for anyone who stutters you should so come to this camp! its amazing! dont b afraid of it because everyone here is welcomed with open arms!
Iam 19 and I still stuttering, it's only embarassing when iam in the class rome in front off my teacher because I can't even say my name, but with my friends it's mostly ok . it's a good thing to do this kind of camps . by the way if any one who have the same problem as me and want to talk I will me more than happy to contact him .
@Augustsum It is important for people to know that not all stutterers can be helped. Each case is unique. There is such a thing as raising false hopes, which can be a cruelty in itself. It would be nice if all of us as humans would just learn to be accepting of this as just one of many individual differences in human beings. We all deserve to be respected.
i stutter it sucks dick, i recommend the hollins institute in virginia. I still stutter but have reduced it by about 80%, and ive talked to people who did the program years ago and you wouldnt even know they had a problem.
i HAve a horrible stutter. And whats annoying is that at age 22,I still can't face boys and I run away from my phone calls.I'l luv to participate in such a camp. Its good.
@27tmiss I think you will find that not all boys would make fun of you. I hope you find a nice guy who accepts you as you are, and loves you for you. I know they're out there.
hey everyone. i'm a speech therapist and i have been studying stuttering for 20 years. i have found the mental skills to stop, control and cure stuttering. please contact me.
One of the kewlest kids in my grade through middle- and high-school had a genetic stutter that he inherited from his father. He had a hilarious sense of humor and was one of the more popular groups. :)
I've noticed that when people stutter, especially when they have a really hard time, my breathing tends to change like I'm encouraging them to get their words out better.
Yeah, I can vouch for singing as an alleviation method for me personally. That's basically all my channel is. As for the part near the beginning where a teacher thought it was deliberate disrespect, that happened to me too. "You're doing that on purpose. I know it. Stop or you get detention..."
I was at Camp Ourtime when this was filmed and have been going there since it began two years ago. I am 16 and I stutter like almost all of the kids that go there as well.
I stutter too, (also 18, haha) but it doesn't bother me too much. I've gotten over any insecurities concerning it. This is a good camp though, nice to see one exists.
I have such a terrible stutter. Even at 18 it's embarassing. Especially when trying to flirt. It's good to see this type of stuff, though. Good on 'em.

Stuttering is painful. However, one still can get helped. I would recommend therapy that can be found on naturaltherapyforstuttering. -c-o-m.

I'm a member of the theatre company and go to the camp. It is amazing to hang out with other people who stutter.

I so want to be a part of this theatre group known as Our Time more than anyone will ever know!
I so want to get into theatre--and this camp is the perfect oppurtunity!!
I so went to get in touch with director Taro!
I am from Syracuse, NY which is 4 and a half hours from NYC which is where this organizaton is located!!
This theatre organization should meet the needs for aspiring singers, actors and dancers that stutter for ALL ages!!!
That's their serious flaw-caters to teens/kids

Made a typo on "I so went to get in touch with director Taro!"
Meant to say "I so want to get in touch with director Taro!"
I am an aspiring actor held back from wanting to do so because extreme stuttering is stopping me...

@happy7117 You might be encouraged by actor James Earl Jones' story. He still stutters, I understand, but he has had a great career in acting.
