I must say though...the grip for the jalebi is very different than it is for offies, top-spinners, arm balls, and doosras. Shouldn't the batsman have been expecting that?

@rizzi2007 Both great bowlers......I'm english-my opinion, warne is the superior bowler. And overall better cricketrer as well. He is a great slip fielder, decent batsmen. And as a bowler many more dimensions. Plus Murali is always going to have suspisions about his action. For me Warne is the greatest-Wisden agree with me

This delivery should be very easy to pick for a batsman from the hand, as it is actually a legspinner action, whereas both the offspinner and the doosra are bowled from very very similar hand position. So I don't know what the fuss about this delivery is. Any good batsman is sure to pick it up.

its hard to pick up because the batsmen thinks that the ball would spin away from him, but instead it keeps its line and hurries on to you, kinda like the flipper....really hard to line it up

You are right man it might be very difficult to line it up, but all the good batsman pick the spinners from the hand. And doosra was really really hard because the off-spinner and the doosra were bowled from very similar hand positions. But this one is actually bowled from the other side of the hand, like a legspinner. So I am just saying it should be much easier to pick for batsman who watch the hand.

youd think so because the fingerspinners arm is curved in while the legspinners arm is curved like a swan neck... but he seems to cock the wrist towards himself a little to disguise the shape of the arm... who knows
