FANTASTIC! I love this score too! Especially "Morning Routine" and "Flying" are my most favorite pieces of the score! Once again another great suite! You are delivering amazing work! Keep going like that!!
John Powell is byfar my favorite composer for soundtracks! This movie does very much have a similar flair to Ice Age, just as Mars Needs Moms is similar to How to Train Your Dragon. I just love his sound and his ability to take a few themes and make them work in any situation!
@SchnurpselsBacke Hahaha, well listen to the very bright light little flute part, and then listen to the intro music to Ice Age 2. It's very similar. I'm not complaining, that happens to be my favourite part, and I don't mind hearing variations on it. I might have sounded like I was critisizing, but I meant it in a positive way. He is my favourite composer.
@SchnurpselsBacke Yeah, I've always been told I have a great ear for music. I can listen to a song and then learn to play it with chords and all on the piano. Since I was a toddler I've been not only watching movies but also listening to the music in them, so I just keep anticipating the best part of the music everytime I watch a movie with awesome music.

@Moonburst12 I'd say he's one of my top thanks to Happy Feet and Dragon. Hans Zimmer has some really nice stuff, but for strings mastery I love Powell.
when i was watching this film in 3D in the cinemas, i could only think of how great the soundtrack was. Then i found out John Powell scored it. I hope this gets at least an Oscar nomiation nest year.
Does anybody know if 20th Century Fox will release a complete score of Rio?

No doubt about it, John Powell is one of the best composers working in Hollywood today...
A real shame that most studios go for mediocre crap like the stuff from John Debney.
