I think the main key here is using a treble in the style of Brian May, Clapton, Gallagher, etc.

Yes, it's an all tube amp, and really cheap.

with the crate what helps also is to change 1 of the preamp tubes to a 12au7 i did and it helps

I haven't been able to get a sound like that out of mine. Mine always sounds muddy. Are you using the stock tubes..? Or an OD pedal..? Or is it just cranked way up? I havent cranked mine yet. Does yours hiss on the clean channel..?

The amp is completely stock. The only thing I have between the guitar and amp is something I think is essential for 99% of tube amps....a treble booster pedal. They're very simple pedals and give you much more dynamics.

I think the Baja only comes in two colors....desert sand and this one. This color was out it seemed from nearly all places so I had to wait, but I ordered mine from Musicians Friend.

I love my V33H. Might want to try it with a Les Paul or a Strat for other tones and colors! It's my third Crate I own now. They're really under rated, in my opinion.
