Yes, I wish there was a fence between the street and her at all times, because at least I can have more time grabbing her while shes climbing over it, it's literally like a blink of the eye and shes in the street. I honestly don't think they realize there is any danger! She not only walks or runs in front of moving vehicles but also runs right up to them to try to touch the spinning wheels. Scary stuff! Its all about constant redirection, only thing that works for us.
From what I understand, it's not that she doesn't know that there's danger in running out into the street, but that she doesn't connect it at the time, her brain doesn't translate it as important. You see a car, and what your brain picks out as significant is the danger of being run over-- but what her brain picks out as significant is the way the wheels are spinning.
That is probably true, she loves anything that spins and even anything that lights up, for instance headlights, she will run right towards an oncoming car just to see the lights. Thank you for that, very great insight indeed!
lol i found it funny when she did the random dance with that lady :P unless they were walking with you guys

I recognise the running in the street part, our son does that too, when he wants to go somewere he just goes no matter what is driving in the street.
