It's really the opposite, we're all volunteers now. There definitely are moments when you wonder whether joining up was the right idea, but all in all it's a good job. Not many other professions can say they've had little kids walk up to them and thank them for fighting the bad guys. The only thing I dislike is that they own you 24/7, and if you have an asshole NCO over you they can make life hell. We don't fight for peace, honor, glory, or justice. We fight to win the war. It's a job.
