1992 & 1993 Canucks were much stronger overall than 1994 squad that made Cup Final yet Oilers still managed to wreck their season even without Messier, Anderson, Fuhr, Kurri, Beukeboom, & Smith. Unfortunately for Vancouver, Edmonton still had Ranford, Murphy, & Tikkanen plus new acquisitions Damphousse & Nichols.

As a long time Canuck fan, I always wonder what might have been with those early '90's teams, pre-1994. The Oilers just had their number that season even though the Canucks were first in the Smythe.
