The nerves are pretty hearable. I agree with the critics, this wasn't a great performance. But I'm quite sure she can actually, because she has the voice and the control necessary to pop it. Just let her get used to such a public, and you'll see.

She was ok, but there are a lot of other acts better than her. I just hope that all the media attention surrounded around her doesn't affect the other acts.
She is competant but nowhere near as good as the hype plays her up to be, she would for example get nowhere near singing a lead role in a West End production which i guess is how you would measure someones abilitiy overall...i full expect to get flamed for this but hey, its my opinion and i have seen plenty of fantastic singers in the West End to be able to make a reasoned comparison.

I supported her at the onset - but this overated performance has made me lose my 'vote.' She did NOT nail this performance and Amanda's comments were completely off track on this one. A disappointment for me here (and I am entitled to my personal opinion and view). This performance is not a 'winning' one in my books and one must be fair to all the other performers. She may get a career but I would not run to see her after this until she improved by leaps and bounds - sorry folks.

By the way it's not all about technical perfection-otherwise everyone would listen to Sarah Brightman all day long-it's the timbre of her voice that draws the millions of fans in.
Susan was really nervous, and for good reason with all the global attention this humble woman from Scotland has been getting for the last month. As Simon said, none of us would want to be in her shoes at that moment and under that kind of pressure!! She has a beautiful voice and way of presenting herself and is always an inspiration. Always makes me feel uplifted to see and hear her.

This is obviously FIXED. This act wasnt as impressive as the first, and she was still given a pass through to the finals when there are better acts. Shameful.

Further to my previous post - unlike some people I don't think she is a "bad" singer because she goes "off" a bit - very few people can sing like she can. What I mean is that her voice is approaching its "sell by" date. I hope, with the help of a few "studio tricks", her album sells in the tens of millions. theres nothing worse than hearing someone sing out of tune. they took her to london and gave her voice coaching they should have left her alone. whilst parts were ok most of it wasnt. if she sings as badly as this in the final it would be a travestey if she won
She hasn't got the voice control she once had. Few women of her age can maintain their vocal abilities without sophisticated training and constant rehearsal. I hear an "aging" voice. She needs to get into the studio as soon as possible, get out her album, make a few million ... and live happily ever after. I think maybe she should have her own TV show ... promoting talented amateur singers. Presenting her as an "amazing singer" is confusing her ... she knows she's not THAT good!
Susan appeared visibly nervous at first and could sense her own difficult start. But as she is, when it became most difficult, that is when she delivered. I think she will be fine and will be able to relax before the finals. She may need to calm the physical antics down a bit though. They could steal from her performance.
A little disaster @ the begining of the song but later everything was OK. What they do with her eyebrows? I think that Simon replays the same tricks like in Paul's case to attract TV audience concern with an odd lookimg singer. People start to laughing @ the begining of an audition and then they are ashamed with their own rudeness. Go Susan, go!

Yes EP is a professional, but this is truly singing from the heart and soul, feeling it and making the audience really feel it too. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON. Early nerves were to be expected, but she still managed to raise the roof. I thought, considering that it was only her second performance, that it was incredible. I really hope she wins. She's a bit nuts, in an endearing way of course, and I'm definitely voting for her next Saturday.
She was shaky at the start and a bit off key near the end - that's true! But she must have been bricking it, knowing that millions would be watching her. Anyway, I've heard plenty of professional singers going off key from time to time. Even Pavarotti did it. I think she did well and there were large parts of the song where she sang brilliantly.
i think people were expecting so much from her, and 4 her 2 be even better than the audition, but i dont think she was really that great tonight,,& she messed up in the begining.

I supported her at the onset - but this overated performance has made me lose my 'vote.' She did NOT nail this performance and Amanda's comments were completely off track on this one. A disappointment for me here (and I am entitled to my personal opinion and view). This performance is not a 'winning' one in my books and one must be fair to all the other performers. She may get a career but I would not run to see her after this until she improved by leaps and bounds - sorry folks.

By the way it's not all about technical perfection-otherwise everyone would listen to Sarah Brightman all day long-it's the timbre of her voice that draws the millions of fans in.

Susan was really nervous, and for good reason with all the global attention this humble woman from Scotland has been getting for the last month. As Simon said, none of us would want to be in her shoes at that moment and under that kind of pressure!! She has a beautiful voice and way of presenting herself and is always an inspiration. Always makes me feel uplifted to see and hear her.

Ok...I was a fan of the first one...but this is CRAP! The first one was based on shock factor...this is just all sorts of messed up! People who like this have obviously NEVER attended DECENT theatre in their lives. Watch Elaine Paige sing this in the DVD of 'Cats' and you learn what goosebumps are! Sorry Susan Boyle...Big strike...however you did deserve to win the semi final cause everyone else was even worse than you...and that's saying something.

Still love her, still hope she wins, still think she's the best discovery since sliced bread. But I don't think this song was strictly right for her - it's wispy and she's not a wispy character. She WOWS when she can belt it out and show her STRENGTH which is what we all fell in love with - her strength and spirit. Give her a song that is full of spunk, charm, strength, and spirit! She's a magnificent alto, don't give her the wishy washy frilly frothy wispy sitting by a window tunes. Love ya!!

'Memories' is not an easy song to sing. As I remember it has at least 2 key changes in it. She was a bit off at the start but pulled it back. If you think a rottweiler is good looking you seriously need to see an optician.

Further to my previous post - unlike some people I don't think she is a "bad" singer because she goes "off" a bit - very few people can sing like she can. What I mean is that her voice is approaching its "sell by" date. I hope, with the help of a few "studio tricks", her album sells in the tens of millions. I just wish she'd been discovered ten years or more ago.

theres nothing worse than hearing someone sing out of tune. they took her to london and gave her voice coaching they should have left her alone. whilst parts were ok most of it wasnt. if she sings as badly as this in the final it would be a travestey if she won

She hasn't got the voice control she once had. Few women of her age can maintain their vocal abilities without sophisticated training and constant rehearsal. I hear an "aging" voice. She needs to get into the studio as soon as possible, get out her album, make a few million ... and live happily ever after. I think maybe she should have her own TV show ... promoting talented amateur singers. Presenting her as an "amazing singer" is confusing her ... she knows she's not THAT good!

Susan appeared visibly nervous at first and could sense her own difficult start. But as she is, when it became most difficult, that is when she delivered. I think she will be fine and will be able to relax before the finals. She may need to calm the physical antics down a bit though. They could steal from her performance.

A little disaster @ the begining of the song but later everything was OK. What they do with her eyebrows? I think that Simon replays the same tricks like in Paul's case to attract TV audience concern with an odd lookimg singer. People start to laughing @ the begining of an audition and then they are ashamed with their own rudeness. Go Susan, go!

To see this sung as it should be find Elaine Paige on you tube at the Lloyd-Webber BD at the Royal Albert Hall in 1998. Yes EP is a professional, but this is truly singing from the heart and soul, feeling it and making the audience really feel it too. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON. Meomory is and always will be Elaine Paige's song. Period.

Early nerves were to be expected, but she still managed to raise the roof. I thought, considering that it was only her second performance, that it was incredible. I really hope she wins. She's a bit nuts, in an endearing way of course, and I'm definitely voting for her next Saturday.

She was shaky at the start and a bit off key near the end - that's true! But she must have been bricking it, knowing that millions would be watching her. Anyway, I've heard plenty of professional singers going off key from time to time. Even Pavarotti did it. I think she did well and there were large parts of the song where she sang brilliantly.

i think people were expecting so much from her, and 4 her 2 be even better than the audition, but i dont think she was really that great tonight,,& she messed up in the begining.
and she is still gonna win it,,she defo gets the sympathy vote,,george sampson got the symapthy vote (he WAS my favee tho)
& 2 be honest, Greg Pritchard is better than her and he didnt get a quarter of the coverage shes getting !!
