  • Great looking fastback.

    Jose Francisco Medeiros

    San Jose, California

  • Great job, what type of paint do you use?

  • Good Job on the resto! i own a 65 fastback rangoon red w/ red interior 289 4 speed. Super fun cars to drive!

  • @thatdodgeboy: helluvajob, must've taken a lot of work. My question for You: Sold for 70K?!? Are you serious? Are u in the car resto biz, if so, do u have a web site I would be interested in any other vehicles u may have to offer... thanx.

  • @surfitbig Yes lots of work! 1000+ hrs on top of working my regular 50 hr a week job. I restore mustangs as a hobby and never really advertise any for sale. Its usually by word of mouth or people who bought cars from me before. The guy that bought this car has bought 2 from me before. He calls periodically to see if im working on anything that he might be interested in. Go to MustangMonthly. com and type in "JR Shelby" or "5R09K125001" and check out the blogs of this car. Pretty interesting

  • Nicely done restoration and paint, but I think the red exterior, interior and engine bay all being the same red color is just a bit too much for me. Nicely done though if that's what you like

  • @65FASTBACKMAN The interior and exterior reds are stock, the engine compartment is supposed to be black from the factory...the black in my opinion makes the engine compartment appear dull and dirty. Every mustang I restore has color matching engine compartment just to be a little different than most. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!!!

  • @thatdodgeboy Yes I realize that the engine compartment is supposed to be black, I've owned two mustangs and currently own a 65 fastback. Idk, to me there is just no contrast between the exterior and the engine bay when it is painted the body color. Its like ok open up the hood, oh well there is more of the exterior color that we get to look at, I'd rather see a really nicely done semi flat black in the engine bay because when done properly the engine bay in semi flat black will look awesome

  • @65FASTBACKMAN Every car show or event I attend almost all of the mustangs have the black engine compartment. Just like Mustang Week at Myrtle Beach SC or the Mustang Grand Nationals that they have every year, every rangoon red 1965 fastback mustang had a flat black engine compartment except for mine, making mine unique. If i went stock with a car, then yeah, It would be black. To each his own i guess...but thanks again for the comments...
