  • I can't choose a favourite Pink Floyd Cd...this is my favourite bedtime one and at least that's a good choice. Turn it up and go to sleep....

  • me hace sentir muy bien darme cuenta que no soy el único loco en este planeta que le guste tanto esta música, es única., admiro mucho a pink floyd gracias amigo.

  • radiate cold shafts of broken glass...

you like the feel of steel ...

your good fun with a hand gun

    your nearly a lie..your nearly a lie! BUT you'r really a CRY..

A cry was heard in Philly that night when disco reigned supreme, when the Beegees and hair spray for men filled the living rooms of the day, before school, as Gerald Ford took over and excused Nixon. HEY YOU WHITE HOUSE...HA HAA Charade you are!!! NOTHING'S CHANGED...

  • Big man, Pig man...ha haaa Charade you are... with your head down in the pig pen saying 'keep on digging'

And that ... besides Bob Dylan on his Martin acoustic singing Hurricane ... was my mid 1970s introduction, middle and ending to the melding of music and disgust...

But how larger could PF's sound be? As Dylan simplified this Album continued to get larger with every listen and then, this concert. An experience for the agest. You F_____ed up old hag...ha haaa Charade you are .... you....

  • gotta stay awake gotta try to shake off, this creepy malaize ... everyone's expendible and no one has a real friend ...

I think the protagonist of this story is NOT you and me...we are better than that ... there's a positive life that transcended the gloom ... we are healthy, vibrant, creative, jammin a 335 and strat into realms not thought of, even by floyd. But what they did was genius, a report card for governments. They do flunk, but they CAN be redeemed if they "bow down in the end"

  • I told all the Tull freaks I liked Ian and Martin lots more at HersheyPark in 1975. We were all Tull freaks on those days. But this show, it wasn't about show, or performance. As much as I was enthralled by those Ian antics ... but what happened when Animals was published, when this concert, at least, was 'performed' was far beyond any of that... poetry at its root core slices fine lines through the diseased veins of society. Rock did that, thru Pink Floyd's dogs, pigs ... a Hammond, Strat...

  • we were all trained not to spit in the fan and were told what to do by the man ... and that's what Waters' mantra was that night ... we were all in awe ... I distinctly remember telling a friend the next day ... as I carried that inexplicable day-after-concert discernment ... Pink Floyd did more in Animals than they were called on to do. And we all GOT it last night at the Spectrum ... it was better than good music, or good art.. it was a reflection... and the image looking back...smelled of PIG

  • Space, that's it. Like looking at music meter and seeing no chords, just hearing distant dogs, at least four blocks of smoke filled haze to the south. But someone is whistling for those dogs. Pink Floyd might as well been a movie that night. A sound track to judgement on society. Society flunked, at least in Philthydelphia. These English guys had our number. I think Animals is a great soundtrack for protest...not against a policy, but against "being used," as Waters sang that night.

  • and when you lose control, you reap the harvest you have sewn ... and even at 16, I think, (i still have the ticket stub, I will check the exact date) there is an element of the harvest that turns to stone ... so have a good drown, as you go down, all alone ... dragged down by the stone ... What was this he sang of in Philly that day, that evening that changed the atmosphere? It wasn't a Wall, that's too dark, and distant. It's something else. Rhythm gave way to space... that's what it was like

  • If you didn't know what happened to me and I didn't know what happened to you ... then, then yes, this is a rock concert, after all. It's not the therapeutic thing that seemed to be happening at the time, melding time, space, color, the milk I drank for lunch ... I didn't even care that my Mom cut my hair. I knew that black guitar was doing something, extending to my soul, some electronic hummings, piercings, that ... that ... it had a 'smell' to it... a touch, too ... a pink odor ... good God

  • ...but, alas, here comes Waters back to his job, his calling, his mantra against that Orwellian whatever that Animals represents. But it was the sound, and those unbelievably gargantuan stage props that said more in their shaking and drift, right towards me, peanut shells at my feat, my brother telling me to shut up -- I knew the words too well, after only two weeks with the album -- and it transcended rock, drama, statements ... art ... it was zig zagging thru my boredom and pain....

  • That pig, and several other building-size blow ups, drifted across The Spectrum from stage left towards my seat, as Gilmour pulled out of old Blackie the screams of Dogs and Waters -- head phones and all -- let the world know, through lyric, what he thought of it all. And Philadelphia loved it, just a little too much in 1977, and got a little to noisy, and Waters walked off the stage, to the same Philly boos that booed Santa at the Vet. Maybe the best concert of my life....at 17

  • Was 15 when this album came out. Didn't fully understand the political underpinnings, but the music kept me relistening. The edgy bitterness and sense of bottled up anger had a huge impression on me, even though I didn't understand why. Now, 35 years later, I have a deeper appreciation of what this album is all about. It's a true artistic document of late 1970s English political culture, encapsulating all the disillusionment, hypocrisy and fear that is still with us today now on a global scale.

  • DEJE LAS DROGAS...SOLO USO PINK FLOYD

  • love uploader comments :)

  • LSD should be legalized

  • Doesn't get much better than Dogs.

  • Thank you for giving us this, a true masterpiece. Brings back such great memories!

  • <3

  • 16:49 dammit so good

  • the entire album is a concept based on Orwell's Animal Farm; taking it one step farther, comparing PIGS to bid business decisions that are based on Greed and Lies....comparing Sheep to those who follow and try in vain to maintain the status quo...and Dogs as those who will do anything to survive through this world.

God Bless Pink Floyd for their intelligent music and sensitive social commentary.

  • @amccann7

Nice, I never really figured Dogs as do anything to survive, but that fits it perfectly. Thanks.

  • @amccann7 The first time I heard this complete album, I was reading Animal Farm at the same time.... Coincidence? I don't think so

  • @joeskier2694 that's right my friend, there are no coincidences!!! ;)

  • @amccann7 we're all pisheepogs, in one sense or another

  • @ultrakool Ha,ha..speak for yourself...but I love it.

  • p-amiętam jak piotr Kaczkowski powiedział,że to koniec Pink Floyd.....a mnie się tak podobało.... a potem jeszcze wybucli...)the wall*em) a potem już ginęli..

  • pink floyd is the best! pink floyd is my life! pink floyd is so amazing that they deserve to sleep with everyones mother!

  • @goodbrew29 I think my ma did sleep with Pink Floyd (or at least a couple of the roadies)

  • Great upload!

  • You are AMAZING! Thank you for posting this!

  • thanks for posting. You're the man. 29:48 tied for best track with dogs

  • silly this is new doris day album

  • i was there

  • @krax61 were? in the year 1977? ;)

  • i am down

  • And when you lose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown.

  • Mary Whitehouse still rolls in her grave when this album is played ;)

  • Could you put time links to each of the songs in the description, please?

  • Dogs, or best Pink Floyd's solo ever !

  • the beginning riff is just so tasty

  • This album is one of the most fucking!

  • its all about sid barret taking to many hits of L S D and left the band without a song writer so these guys wrote about what was going on in there lives at the time. lines like there someone in my head but its not me ,black coal for his eyes when david went to see barret after the LSD overdose he said it look like the guy ive known since elementry school but you can see hes no longer there

  • @stain22 That pretty much sums up the situation as I recall it from 40 years ago. David Gilmour came into the picture as it all began to unfold. Gilmour was also a childhood friend of both Barrett and Waters.

  • Perhaps had more people been listening to more Pink Floyd and less Disco things would not have turned out this bad. Just a thought.

  • This album was a message about people's lack of empathy and the cold and unfeeling darkness that was washing over humanity at that time. In many ways it epitomizes the "me generation" and the materialism that would sweep over people throughout the 1980's, continue into the 90's, and land us right here in the turmoil that we are facing at this very moment. It's about the social conditions which have allowed us to get where we are today, in serious trouble.

  • meddle----animals---- best floyd albums!!

  • One of the best albums ever; Sheep, best track ever on a decent sound system.

Lyrics: Some just don't get it, for those I am sorry..

  • @ 7:49 starts sweeetest part of the song!!

  • I have been around hundreds of years, listened to the piper at hamelin, beethoven, berio, stravinsky etc but floyd is the best they say nothing perfectly and take the thorns from the crowns and put them in your asses..........

  • huh. i thought the wall was about a guy locking himself into his mind with a mental "wall" loosing the plot, and all his life issues (each "another brick in the wall") leading to it. and i thought animals was about bureaucracy. you guys done too many drugs or have i? lol

  • @creamargument pretty much correct.

  • Just shoot me now. This is the best thought out album ever made, and the kids today don't even appreciate the gift Pink Floyd granted. I am ashamed for today's youth. I fear they will reap the harvest they have sown.

  • Is this real Pink Floyd? It seems that it sounds a bit different. Maybe I'm wrong.

  • @auimike No. You're not wrong. It's New Kids On The Block before they were famous.

  • @paulc4567 Dunno who they are, but okay.

  • @auimike hahaha dude its really pink floyd, hes just fucking with you, new kids on the block is a shitty group like the backstreet boys

  • @paulc4567 Are you sure . I thought it was WHAM..

  • @TheWackermc No silly, WHAM recorded "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn."

  • @paulc4567 ahahhahaha...EPIC COMMENT IS EPIC!

  • @paulc4567 Holy shit all this time i thought Piper at the gates... was recorded by Nickelback! What kind of floydian am i?

  • @paulc4567 you fools...its Milli Vanilly ... shame on you...!!!

  • @EduVillarroel91 Nickelback did do some collaboration on A Saucerful of Secrets

  • @kingian999 are you fucked? Nickelback WERE NOT ALIVE when saucerful came out. MORON!....oh were you joking?...

  • @paulc4567 what is a wham

  • @pilaman82 wham was a band from the 80s

  • @paulc4567 Or Justin Bieber!

  • @paulc4567 HAHAHAHAH!!!

  • @auimike maybe you heard australian pink floyd version which sounds better. especially in chorus of pigs.

  • @auimike i've been noticing this w/ a lot of full-album uploads.. the pitch is slightly higher than it should be.. less than a half-step off.. but enough to be noticed..

  • @auimike ...or stoned...

  • @auimike

    Sounds like a Floydiasn slip.

  • @auimike wrongs a bit of an understatement, wouldn't you think?

  • @auimike This is Pink Floyd

  • @auimike Who else can create such meaningful lyrics and dramatic guitar solos?

  • @zgpeco

Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, The Doors(lyrics), Hendrix, The Who, Janes Addiction, Talking Heads, The White Stripes, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and U2 to name just a few. I get your point though, Floyd is brilliant on so many levels it's almost hard to describe.

  • coming home drunker than snot and blasting this with headphones on,that was awesome. of course i would be asleep before the end of side one and the turntable would still be on in the morning

  • el mejor álbum que existe, tiene una mística increíble, incomparable... rico para dormir, descansar, mirar, correr, saludar, etc...

  • One of the best lyrics ever written: "And it's too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around.

So have a good drown, as you go down all alone. Dragged down by the stone"

  • Floyd and this album is all the SCHOOLING you need ?Floyd is ,,food for your brain

  • best pink floyd album ever, There's nothing compares with it

  • @Lauzan74 You mean best album ever. Rofl

  • 35 people suck

  • I was trying to sleep last night, when the neighbor's dog started barking. I was immediately reminded of "Dogs" and slept.

The song played throughout the entire dream, and it was the best sleep I've had in days.

  • @PhilosophicalMan tthat is AWESOME bro....yhays why i came here

  • Pink Floyd are one of the greatest bands to exist. We sound nothing like them now, perhaps later down the line after a few albums we'll start making stuff like this

  • Sheep is the best song

  • HEY! YOU! WHITE HOUSE! ha ha! charade you are!

  • @WhatSaysJane They mean Mary Whitehouse, not the White House in Washington, DC

  • @1howlinwolf ..I'll pretend. :D

  • I thought it was...

    Dogs = Politicians

    Pigs = Police

    Sheep = People

Also... on the 8-track of this i STILL own !!!.... is the complete "Pigs On The Wing" (as one song) with Snowy White playing a guitar solo connecting the 2 "parts" (Snowy is currently playing with Roger on his WALL tour.)

  • @TacomaPaul Pigs arent police, they said it represented the rich people, the top of the food chain

  • My favorite part is 0:01 to 41:47

  • @TacomaPaul I listened twice

  • @TacomaPaul nicely put hell yeah

  • tyuxdtr6tuxf

  • I feel a little Orwellian now! All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. Four legs good. Two legs better! And remember........ Big brother is watching!

  • My favorite album. Front to back don't touch a button.

  • dogs: police

    pigs: politics

    sheep: people

waters is a genious, guilmour is a soul guitar; manson is a jazz drum, wright is a ambientalist

  • @juliouszappalino except in the song pigs, even in the title, he describes three different kinds.

  • animals is about knowing society. the wall is about knowing yourself. darkside of the moon is about knowing nature

  • @antraxbreakfest69 Where in the fuck do you get this nonsense at, WTF does money have to do with nature, or The Wall's a requiem for the Post War Dream continued by the Final Cut!

  • @antraxbreakfest69 Piper at the Gates of Dawn was the fun, in the fantasy...too bad real life sucks....Meddle is still my favorite.

  • @antraxbreakfest69

    wrong, darkside is about humans.

  • @antraxbreakfest69 I'd say Darkside is about knowing life.

  • @antraxbreakfest69 thats a decent comparison and interesting opinion. what would you say saucer full of secrets is about, or umma gumma for that matter.

  • @antraxbreakfest69 that is correct! you really are a PINK FLOYD fan!

  • @antraxbreakfest69 Dark side of the moon is about Insanity.

  • @antraxbreakfest69 Wish You Were Here is about knowing others.

  • @antraxbreakfest69 Thats the best 1 line description I've ever heard about my favorite 3 Floyd albums. Thank you.

  • Free. Wow, look at that little word.

  • SO BRAVE@pitkinator

  • without question my favorite pink floyd album.

  • Ive listened to this like 12 times already i love pink floyd:)

  • this album illustrates a great philosophical insight: we are at root animals, yet we care, we love, and can briefly step outside of our own interests.. If only we try.

  • esto me recuerda mis tiempos de estudiante universitario....cuantos recuerdos grossoooooo

  • full album whaaaaaaaaaaat

  • Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • my favorite floyd album

  • all americans need not comment, for you know only war :0)

  • several smallspecies of furry animals gathered tohether in a cave and grooving with a pict

  • i love this part of youtube :D

  • I think without a doubt that this was the best work Pink Floyd ever did. Time will tell, 1000 years from now this music will be as important as Mozart, Bethoven, Bach and the such. But thats just my opinion and I am not looking for insults. I just think its one of the greatest recordings of all time.

  • @Tonyaxes Wow. 1k years may be a stretch, as I doubt humans will be here then unless more of them listen to Floyd, but you are absolutely positively intuitive and correct in every other aspect and regard, and I applaud your ears and stuff betwixt.

  • make that 35 people..... take them outside and have them SHOT

  • @MrPAULJT lol looks like that ones a q....... who let all of this rif raff into the room

  • I love it! Thanks for posting this on youtube!

  • 33 people need to be given a chainsaw enema.

  • Sure I haven't talked to my dad in a couple of years and he might be a total asshole but If there's one thing i'm thankful for, it's that he showed me godly music like Floyd

  • @BulletFrenzy543 If he turned you on to Pink Floyd, then he could eat kids for a living and he would still be a fairly cool man, lol

  • This album reminds me of the days traveling from Carlin Nevada to Taylor Mountain..

  • Amazing album! First memory of this is when I was a kid, my mother gave me this tape to listen to. I was lying on my bed in the evening, sky getting darker, I getting sleepy, dreaming away, tripping on the music...when my mom came to tell me dinner's ready :) I remember the room, the print of the sheets on my bed, and falling in love with Pink Floyd.

  • SHEEP = BEST INTRO EVER.

  • Always been a Floyd fan but hadn't ever heard this entire album up until a couple of weeks ago. Still listening to it.

  • I first became a Pink Floyd fan at the age of ten. At the end of 3rd grade, I got really good grades and my dad bought me this tape as a gift. After hearing it the first time, I wasn't really sure what to think, and my dad felt the same way. But the more we listened to it, the more we liked it; especially the "Dogs" track. A true classic. This album came out the year I was born, and its awesome! One of PF's best!

  • Does anybody here remember @FabioSici? He had every pf album, every soundtrack, every solo effort by every member, and every 'lost' or 'unreleased' pf track available.......until he got banned by Youtube.

  • @paulc4567 - Zabriskie Point

  • great upload bro !!

  • the relevance of this album has only increased in my lifetime since I first hear it in high school in the 1980's. And now as I transition into the life of an old man, I can't help but think there is nothing anyone has done that has made a difference. We are still subject to the pigs. We didn't do enough and now we are paying the price.

  • @skinnyernie DUDE ! You are not an old man yet... are we?

  • THE BEST PINK FLOYD ALBUM , AND WORDS TO LIVE BY

  • Best album of all time

  • Favorite Floyd Album

  • Pink Floyd after all this years still THE BEST

  • Es el mejor álbum de Pink Floyd

  • @ber246565 Tell us something we don't know :D .

  • 40 años de su lanzamiento cumpliò el pasado 23 de enero de 2012

  • Best Pink Floyd CD. hands down

  • @99AliceinChains Best Pink Floyd cd...and I'll bet it's the best Pink Floyd vinyl...best Pink Floyd cassette....best Pink Floyd 8 track - which is even more true actually, because the 8 track version has a special mixing of "Pigs on the Wing" in which there's an electric guitar solo bridging parts 1 and 2, instead of them being on opposite ends of the album.

  • @residualbill I didn't know that.

  • @dayvenkirq If you haven't heard that version, try searching "Pigs On The Wing (Parts 1 & 2)". It was uploaded by TheGabrielFloyd. You may have to scroll down to find it because there are also live versions.

  • the dogs wont stop barking!!!

  • the final cut is the 10th studio album, not animals.

  • Any questions? 1. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn 2. A Saucerful of Secrets 3. Soundtrack from the Film More 4. Ummagumma 5. Atom Heart Mother 6. Meddle 7. Obscured by Clouds 8. The Dark Side of the Moon 9. Wish You Were Here 10. Animals 11. The Wall 12. The Final Cut 13. A Momentary Lapse of Reason 14. The Division Bell
  • @paulc4567 idiot, ummagumma isnt a studio album and soundtrack from the film more doesnt count. Animals is the eighth studio album and the final cut is #10.

  • @TormentedReality Doesn't count? bwahahahahahahahah Go do your homework, asswipe.

  • @paulc4567 Gentlemen, are SOUNDTRACK albums and STUDIO albums the same thing?

  • @dayvenkirq It is, if that soundtrack was recorded in a studio.

  • @dayvenkirq Here's another example: "Who Made Who" is a hard rock album by Australian band AC/DC, released in 1986 as the soundtrack to the Stephen King movie Maximum Overdrive. It contained a mix of greatest hits and several new studio recordings of new songs. Does this not count as a studio album for ACDC?

  • @paulc4567 Yes, it does count. Also, Queen's "A Kind of Magic", which is essentially the soundtrack to the movie "Highlander", also counts as an official studio album.

I'm sure we can find so many examples like these.

  • @paulc4567

no i don't think so. Who made who is more a kind of best of album

  • @dayvenkirq Soundtrack albums count as studio albums as long as it is all original material and all by the same band/artist. So that means the albums "More" and "Obscured by Clouds" (soundtrack to 'The Valley', a.k.a. "La Valle") are official studio albums.
