The Fireblade has way better handling for once, the seating position is completely different, the gear ratio is different, the torque and power diagramm is aswell, and so on...
But I changed my mind since I like changing gears manually!

Amazing what Big Red can do with those V4 engines. The thing is 1200cc, and it doesn't look any wider than my 6th gen VFR 800. Not a fan of the face of this thing, but I'm one of few that liked the mug of the Buell 1125r, so I have no room to talk.

Don't mock it till you tried it. I test one and came back with a big smile. And now I own one. And yes I have had them all r1 fireblade. Hayabusa black bird. This new bike from Honda is truly stunning and the quality of finish is the best I have ever seen.
massive loser for honda imo. i've previously been a fan of honda v-fours & owned a 1986 vfr750fg ... but this bike is UGLY, HEAVY & UNDER-POWERED. 83kw (measured) & 297kg... sadface.
I owned the 96 750 VFR and 99 VFr 800 cc they could carve up the canyon roads in California still a light bike then . Now this new oversize bike, more of a touring
fatter pig of the original VFR idea - no flickable canyon carver
The auto is still unproven for me.... i just cant believe in it.... maybe im old fashoned but it just seems less fun.... like a jumbo scooter or something...
A beautiful piece of engineering. I bet that this bike would last any owner a lifetime, no matter how many km's you put on it. Shame about the price tag, though.
Jerky throttle response? Does this have dual-clutch trasnsmission? Maybe that would be a bit hype for a bike... Would be nice to hear how it goes through gears...
But, anyhow, this is a good video in which the engine sound is existing too - the other video that I tried to watch for some seconds was about some old buddies standing and smiling on a parking lot and just music...
I think this is a pretty good video. Gives a good look at the bike and you get to hear a bit of what it sounds like with the roll ons from behind the car and with it driving around. AND the wind noise has been well taken care of which has been a major problem before.
I had the '04 800 VFR, I wish they would have just made that into a 6 speed transmission, and shaft drive. Then it would have been the perfect bike. Had to sell so I could get a cruiser and ride with my wife. I like my VTX, but I miss my VFR.
yeah sounds like a scooter. My '98 vfr with the 2bros exhaust & efi sounded way better. Not crazy about the front (headlights) either. and the slab-sides look like a bmwk1200. yuk.
Too bad they don't just bring back the 'Bird (CBR-1100XX) with some *minor* restyling. Best bike they ever made..
You are right, a 2003 SV1000s is so much cooler than this bike; some day when I am grown up and successful, maybe I to can be cool enough to own a 2003 SV1000s... Isn't the 2003 SV1000s the greatest motorcycle ever? I believe it has been noted as such in many magazines.
I am not a fan of the front end, but after reading about all the specs I must say this would make a wicked sport tourer. To be honest I don't think it's much more wacky looking than a BMW.
So glad they have updated the VFR. Even with the 2010 noise compliant exhaust, the Honda V-Four makes sweet music compared to other MC 4 cylinders. Can't wait for some aftermarket exhausts.
mcn does cool stuff w/crappy quality vids - sound is usually the worst but i like their staff; wish they would have better w/all the resources they are afforded.
With proper touring gear mounted to the rear of that bike it looks to be a great competitor for the likes of the FJR1300, R1200RT, K1300, GL1800, etc.

they just care about machines u dotn take new bike and rev shit out of it coz u gonna sieze it. well u tried to show off but if u dotn kno the job keep quiet
u are right...if we were living abouth ten years ago... these days a motorcycle doesn't leave the factory any more before being tested so thouroughly that you are/(should be) abled to rev it to the max the first ride you take it out. as long as you make sure the engine is hot enough. ;)
Ya know that there is different trains of thought when it comes to breaking in a bike. What is the point of watching a video of a sport-touring bike that never gets revved over 5000rpms?
