MMA is not "ring fighting", it's combining different styles of fighting based on different ranges. WC has it's advantages and disavantages just like any other art. I think Bruce put it best: "it's not what you do, it's how well you do it!"

Exactly. The only difference between ring fighting and street fighting is WHERE you hit. Not HOW you hit. Jujitsu, muay thai etc are all martial arts that were made for self defence like any other art. Its not only wing chun that was made for self defence.

People only started to used muay thai for ring fights during times of peace thats all. But its a martial art at heart. Theres no such thing as a RING art.

I train 9 diff. material arts.. including WT, Xiaolin kungfu, lan chao, xing yi and others.. WT is fast, and dangerous.. We had emin graduating us.

The problem with his system is that you cant atteck them, and you cant defend.. Why don't you go and challenge a WC sifu in your local area for a friendly sparring ? That is what I did when I was 28. I was proud, confident. After all, I had a black belt in judo and 2nd dan in kempo at that time. I was holding my ground against my peers from Tae kwon Do, Shotokan, Kyokushin, Yoseikan ... i shortly realized that I had a lot to learn from that guy ....

Oh and i have sparred with a wc guy twice.

Hes someone i know and he kept sayin how boxing and all the other arts are no match for wc. Really disrespected those arts which he knew nothing about.

So we sparred, me using boxing and muay thai and he using wc.

He never expected me to connect with so many hits on him and he really found my boxing bobbing and weavin frustrating. He woke up after those matches and gained more respect for the arts he originally disregarded.
