No theory gets you anything after you die. Should we abandon germ theory because it doesn't get you anything after you die? Stop being absurd. Regardless, the gospel doesn't get you anything after you die either. Once you're dead, you're dead. No souls, no heaven, no gods, no Jesus. DEAD.

I am aware that most creationists lack the ability to appreciate subtlety, and it would seem that you are no exception, so perhaps I should be more direct. I am trying to show you that lame threats of damnation are just as idiotic, unfounded, deceitful, and absurd when they come from your mouth as they the EXACT same threats come from a Muslim. I am not afraid of things that don't exist. Why are you?

Near death experiences are totally unimpressive. Not everyone has one, and those that do have experiences based on their own cultural backgrounds. I wanted to get through my points quickly, and get across that the books that would eventually be in the Bible were decided by man.

Those bible stories were a way of teaching people about life and have much deeper meanings.
When Christians take the stories as actual historical fact they completely overlook the message that the stories were meant to teach.

Actually knowing about evolution is helping doctors treat/keep alive people who have HIV, amongst many other things, in reality.
