ALOT of people in Eastern Canada would go hungry and not be able to make ends meet if it weren't for the seal hunt... Check out the grocery store, every piece of meat in that aisle was slaughtered. Not sure if you meant to reply to me, but I am in agreement with you in case you misjudged my post. :p I am actually from Eastern Canada, and although I have never seen seal meat for sale anywhere, I don't doubt that some people would eat it.
My post was simply to support Paul McCartney (yes, I'm a huge fan) in stating his concerns calmly and actually listening to the responses while his ex-wife seemed utterly incapable of this (how embarassing for her).

@bazzblack I know - illegal fishing by international boats is one of the big reasons the fish stocks dipped so low. No one came to enforce the law and protect NFLD. I bet those Portuguese ships still sneak in and steal cod. I was against the seal hunt years ago, but then when I examined the issue I changed my mind. People are irrational because they are so darn cute.

actually, it is. they are overpopulated and if we dont try to control the populatino, the could starve off. also they do eat cod, and even thought humans are a very large part of why cod are endangered, the seals arnt helping. its not like you can put seals on birth control. also the method of slaughter has been proven the be the most humane, better than almost all animals that humans consume.

He began the debater agreeing with Danny about the extra money the fishermen get and how it is helpfu to their families. I'm not condoning what's done to the animals by the people, just the way it is done. Sir Paul is correct.
