  • After years and years of searching, I finally found the name of this gem:D lol

  • lol, so Van Damme was the villain in this movie? And the hero was trained by Bruce Lee? And this is one of those movies where you have to get together with friends to watch it, maybe even be a little drunk :P

  • Isn't that song You're Best Around in this movie or am I thinking of a different movie? Lol

  • i love the end music !

  • WTF is the referee in all this?

  • Me and you. Hows about it BOY. Either that, or go far far away from my channel little one....

  • This is hilarious now, Can't believe I thought this was cool when i was a kid....

  • The Vhs aka Uk version sucks. The flashbacks are cut and music sounds like it was ripped right out of a rocky movie. Only worth it if you grew up on the nostalgia. Otherwise nothing much.

  • I MADE 3 OF MY FRIENDS WATCH THIS LOL ...THIS MOVIE IS SO BAD ITS GOOD LOL ...

  • haha! I love this movie!!!

  • loooollll yosimitshu * shirt out . insert epic oneliner* to lei to epic oneliner to law to lei supercombo = jean claude gets mad. ///= trolface tanktop destroyer to hiawhrang, to king to hiahwrang to bruce/jack. = no retreat no surrender = bruce lee intro to law superkick = AWESOME

  • lol that dude with the right shirt fights trows moves from Lei, Jin, and law? lol. this movie inspiration to tekken?

  • So, it is you, the son, is it not?

  • WINNING!!!

  • Best Fighting Movie EVER!!

  • 17 people thought the dislike button said dis i like

  • @blueroomexit LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @blueroomexit you should get the vhs version from ebay then put it on dvd. Thats what I did.

  • If anyone is looking for the original version with the original music let me know. I used to have the VHS and transferred it to DVD. The quality is not as clear as a digital copy but it's very viewable the way it was back when it was released.

  • I forgot how cheese ridden this film was lol! Everybody is right tho, the original was way better!

  • @blueroomexit - Yea I had the VHS version in the early 90's, then re-watched the film in the 2000's and was thinking huh this is different. I haven't been able to find an online or dvd version of the original.

  • @AshBlue1989 I'd like to get the original version as well on DVD. The version of the end song (not to mention the other music) on this clip is pants compared to the original VHS. As i understand it, the version this clip is from is the US version, and the VHS version is a UK edition which featured diff music, and had a lot of the fight scenes cut, but some extra scenes of Kelly and Jason inserted which are not in the US version. I think we need an combined version, with the music from the orig.

  • @TheUTubeTeamSucks theres no retreat no surrender 1 2 and 3 iin a dvd pack

  • @TheMrburberry Got that, but its still the wrong version,

  • @TheUTubeTeamSucks i dnt think ive watched the other version lol

  • @TheMrburberry Well i uploaded the UK version of the final fight and end credits/song a few days ago - the code is OwJ9wuAXrEQ - you can see the in UK vid version how the fight has all the Jason "flashbacks" of Bruce Lee cut-out, and the fight is edited in other places also (looks a bit choppy where the cuts were made too). But this is the version a lot of UK viewers grew up with. And the end song is awesome IMHO.

  • @TheMrburberry thats only region 2. at least thats all i saw on amazon

  • Your goood..... i get better ! hahaha best line ever

  • hahahahaa hilarious!!

  • 0:55 WOW!

  • whatever happened to kurt mc kinney?

  • 3:08 FLASH KICK

  • i miss being young

  • is it wrong of me to be going for van damme in this fight?

  • I watched this movie so many times as a kid and I still have my copy on VHS and watching this clip confused the hell out me. What is with the music, it is totally different, and also the flashbacks to the training, that doesn't happen in the version that I grew up with.

  • Да как-то нехорошо с Ваней поступили

  • I remember watching this as a kid. I almost jumped out of my seat when Bruce Lee made a "special appearance." :)

  • im 19 but love old fighting films from 1st karate kid to thes no retreat no surrenders bolo yueng trilogy blood sport their 4 me what makes a movie not these flying long distance kicks like bullet proof munk house of flying daggers old movies were somtimes funny 2 anys ways nice vid. :)

  • loved this move! an 80's classic! love the old-school martial arts films the most because they had more heart, passion, and feeling.they just had a better atomsphere, they were just better.some may call them cheesy, but in a strange sense that is what made them good and memorable.they had heart, they had charm...also Van Damme first technical movie was a french film called "Rue Babare" but he didn't start,he just had a small part.but this was his first starring role as a mian character yes.LOL

  • Hart brutal looking fight's, a few of the best fighting sceens of Van Damme! that's what i like in this movie! + Good training music!

  • 2:32 Mega DRIVE GAMES SOUND GOLDEN AXE LOOOL

  • that movie made me believe that you can achieve anything with hard work..ok i also hoped the ghost of burce lee would teach me, but still...

    no retreat no surrender!

  • gotta love that audience

  • Brings back memories!

  • Comment removed

  • best movie ever

  • buena pelicula!!!

  • Buena peli!!

  • We all know what became of JCVD after this film, but what became of the actor who played his opponent (the man in red) in the end? Is he still active in the movie business?

  • @JKNEVER69 well not really. He was affraid to be stero type casted so i think he declined to play mor martial arts film,I think he plays in a soap opera days of our lifes or some other show.Don't remember which.chek him out on imdb

  • "But this time it'll be different....RUSSIAN!" And that's what REALLY sets Van Damme off!

A staple of late 80s cable tv, why it is NOT a cult classic is beyond me. Dubbed voices, a hallucinatory Bruce Lee training this 98-lb. weakling, or, as my brother used to say when we were kids, "His best friend is the black Peter Brady!", who also has the movies title in the classic line at 2:27

  • I watched this movie almost everyday back in the 80's. My mother really , really grew tired of it!!! hahahaha The ending now is the only part I can stand to watch. Thanks for the memories !

  • One of the best 80's Martial arts film of all time, I liked it..similar to Karate Kid. JCVD played a good BaddAss! The sound effects are like street fighter 2.

  • @TomSpartan218 Well I'm Kurt Mckinney's god son and he whould whoops your arse, just like he did in this scene!

  • @TomSpartan218 He probably would, but the mussels from Kentucky would still whoop your ass!

  • BYAAAHHHHHHH

  • Huge fan project on leedaiger.de

  • YEAH! like this happens in evey fight you see in the ring??

  • classic american movie.

  • the match was fixed, the referee should of stopped it. the cunt in the red attacekd van damme while he was in the middle of a fight with no gloves. if the movie had any sort of budget they could of hired sum1 that knew something about kararte and actually followed the rules of the the fucking shit sport. i think the soundtrack should be burnt for being rascist and too damn ugly. id rather spend my time watching two guys beat another guy with a hammer and poke his eyes out with a screwDRIVER

  • Kurt McKinney got fuckin' lucky...

  • Bad sound effects, cheesy soundtrack, Van Damme ripping off his shirt.

Some jerry curl kid yelling the title of the movie out loud.

God I miss being a kid in the eighties with classic HBO.

  • This is easily the most most unintentional cheesiest martial arts movie of all time. In this movie, you have a bruce lee imitator, a suspiciously gay sidekick, a comical and truly absurd plot, and van damme as a russian with a dubbed voiceover.

  • I loved this movie when i saw it first in the 80's on its release and out of nostalgia bought it recently on dvd.

It was ruined lots of stupid music over an already poorly recorded soundtrack and they even changed the music of the training scenes and the end titles which totally ruined it for me.

  • When I was van damme aside from the american cover ups,I lost to the so called good guy cause of this The movie (QUEST) I met this blond in the movie quest, somewhere along the way we had a relationship as a short couple. She wanted me to loose to her brother in a match to make him famous. Why would she want that? cause at the time i didn't know i beat her dad in hand to hand combat! She followed me and obsession started and not knowing what she was really after But i got him back at ROCKY5

  • cheesy movie but has Jean Claudes bestfight scenes. my opinion

  • @darkmindmelbourne ---Most of us love this film because it reminds us of being a kid, or just younger days. It isn't a film to be taken seriously like critics take it. It's just a good old fun 80's martial arts film. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • @AshBlue1989 agree with ya.If it was to be taken seriously van damme would never hav gotten that far.He would be stopped the moment he attacked the judge.

  • @AshBlue1989 so true man, i feel the same way!

  • @darkmindmelbourne lol these movies were good for one thing giving young kids of the 80s the meaning between right and wrong. Glad my mum let me watch violent movies at the such a young age. Movies with respect honour and loyalty. same can be said for the action flicks with arny, sly, chuck, bruce and the rest. That said passing judgement on them now is just a sad state of affairs.

  • @darkmindmelbourne actually its not that he suddenly got super powers becuz his gf was in trouble. he actually got trained by bruce lee's spirit so thats how he gained the skilz neccessary to beat the russian.

  • 2:28 god that was dumb....

  • Dis Movie Takez mE Bk LoL,Da Gud oLd DaYz LoL

  • This time it'll be different, RUSSIAN

  • OH SHIT,,, DUDE IS PISSED!!!!!

  • even with corey yuen directing, american martial arts films just cn't hold up to hong kong martial arts films. For an american film though, this isn't bad.

  • man! this is by far the manliest thing since barbed wire tattoos

  • 3:27 the music at this point sounds the winning music to an 80's video game.

  • No way. The acting is shocking. But its still good to watch! Old SKoOl!

  • one of my favs as a kid way back when lol

  • my favorite movieee !

No Retreat ,No Surrender LOL *-*

  • it is u, it is not russian

  • Like in my dream LOL ! !

  • When ever things are going bad in a fight when my skinny black friend yells "No retreat No surrender!" I become invincible too

  • A los tiempos.... internet lo puede todo

  • if you watch this whole movie, you will see how freakin awesome it is...

  • @emmanuelcorvera ive just watch it all & yes its cheesy lol but totally Awesome & luv it:))

  • I LOVE RETRO! LOL

  • så jäkla fet film jag gillar den som faan kanske dåliga skådespelare men tycker den har sin alldeles egna charm helt helt otrolig känsla

  • wat a shiate movie....

  • possibly the crapiest acting i have seen in my short but eventfull life :)

  • retroceder nunca rendirse jamas

  • Who is the skinny guy in the red tanktop? Pretty weak acting and fighting. Stupid Bruce Lee impersonations.

  • the idea of whole movie is that Jason (red tanktop) is a really big fan of Bruce Lee...watch the movie and you will be answered

  • Great final fight scene, not as good as way of the dragon with chuck norris tho!

  • In belgium the movie is called 'karate tiger'. Dont know why

  • The name of the movie is "No Retreat, no surrender."

  • van damme killed that first guy

  • No retroceder, no rendirse!!!

  • no way that skinny fuck could take van damme.

  • I actually saw this in a 42nd St. movie house when it 1st premiered. Of course low production values but the fight scenes were interesting and well choreographed. I don't mind watching it whenever it comes on.

  • what is the name of the movie??

  • @rosastyl - It's in the title bro. It's called No Retreat No Surrender.

  • Why the 1950's American flag with 48 stars?

  • The finish move could have been better but still one of the best fights.

  • I have not seen this movie since it was HBO! I thought I would think it was just crap but the choreography(or however you spell it) is actually pretty good. Love it!

  • uhhh havn't seen this movie in over 15 yrs.... and still one of my fav movies of all time!!

  • 80s FTW!!!!

  • NO RETREAT! NO SURRENDER!

    my new motto. :)

  • I love this movie. I started out thinking this movie was gayest thing of all time but it just grew on me. I love choreography, it definetly had a different feel than anything Chuck Norris was doing. Only problems I have now is 1. Cliched characters to the max

and 2. I never like the ghost of Bruce Lee angle. If they really wanted to go a true Hong Kong route, Jason would've learned martial arts from a beggar, like drunken master 1.

  • Its like a Mentos Commercial!

  • is that the guy from step by step? lol

  • It was cool that this movie came up in my recomendations. This was my very first martial arts movie, then I was hooked. Been thinking more about it lately. Maybe at 32, it is time to take classes.

  • I think van damme were thinking : " this fucking kid, just because he`s the protagonist... I wish this fight could be true just to kick his fucking ass" LOL

  • 2:40 is so funny LOL why van damme throw punches to that way? just to show us how useful is to use the maching at 2:45? LOL

  • CR0Boy1989 I think you never has seen a tony jaa`s movie right?

  • like enter the dragon final fight, legends!

    great movie!!

  • It's so stupid!. Looks like a shitty comedy...

  • best fight-movie ever

  • This film is so bad that its actually good. Story could be good but the acting is awful. More cheese in the dialogue than on my toast!

  • classique

  • klasyka ;)

  • The link says this was his first movie, his first was a dancer on "Breakin" at the beach with his speedos lol. Ozone, Turbo and Van Damm what a crew lol. Actually he was just an extra but that was his big break to stardom, then his wife beating was his big break to broke.

  • That dick in the red who jumps in the ring ruins the whole thing

  • After filming finished, Van Damme kicked the main guy's ass out in the parking lot. Fucked him up real bad for pretending to lose to him in this scene. The guy's still in the coma.

  • what fightin style is this?

  • 3 fights tops.

    snigger snigger

  • ahahahhaha masler lee!!!

  • Jason Jason Jason Jason!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:07 I wanted to see that. :)

  • They dont make fighting movies like this in hollywood anymore. Its a shame. I miss Jean Claude. He should have taken that role in the Sylvester Stallone's new flick that will be out this year.

  • DOUBT IT WILl be any good.they are all over the hill.sly, arnold, dolph, van damme, etc.

But i do agree on one thing.they don't make movies like this anymoore.

  • Lousy sound FX ! Was it direct on video ?

  • what a shame ! my hero super Van Damme owned by a gay hahaha horrible!

  • This movie is one of my favorites. Gotta love the cheesy sound effects

  • 2:25 - 2:40 Ich liebe wie Jason voller Hass schreit und ihn erstmal richtig einen in die Fresse gibt :D

  • I was always a fan of the grace and stylishness of the choreography in this movie.

None of the moves (of the main actors) look sloppy or flawed.

Also, the camera angles and editing were better than even in today's Hollywood fight-scenes.

Corey Yuen has done a good job regarding the fights.

  • watch where van damme knocks out peter cunningham for real...they kept it in after he did it a second time

  • Which scene is that?

Is it where JC tosses Peter into the ropes and flying-roundhouses him, as he bounces back towards JC?

The attack after which they carry Cunningham out of the ring?

    Ouch!

But that's how HK martial arts movies are always done. Doesn't look real enough when the attacks don't really connect, according to most HK action directors. XD

  • yeah..thats the one...he knocked him out on the first go,then stopped to check if pete was okay..the director was furious that van damme had stopped mid take..so they reshot..he knocked him spark out again and they kept it in...the only time pete had ever been knocked out!!! twice

  • embarrassing, ha ha ha i love 80's movies

  • was this an academy award winner ?

  • in these old movies i hate it how in the dvd it will be better because they add in the deleted scenes, but they'll put in shittier songs, it is also like that in The Outsiders

  • This movie had some the worse acting in the World!... But I still love to watch this movie every chance I Get!!!!!!!!!!

  • wayyyy better than the american ending.

  • Hey Guys i looking for the song which is played from 2:33 - 3:27 can anybody tell me where to find it?

    thanks a lot ;)

  • if bruce lee was still livin, he would be in this movie

  • This is dope !!

I never seen a better guy who copy perfectly the moves from bruce lee !!

    WOOOOOOW

  • that is a crazy bad movie even for the 80s

  • van damme would rip off this guy in real^^...to bad he lost here :-/

  • ich hab jeden fight verloren oder gar nicht gekämpft

  • jasons fight isnt pointless, he wanted revenge of what van did to his father (snapped his leg) ...

  • blarson12 I'm still stuck in the 80's better then this rap crap generation.. these kids act black when there white... thats pathethic.. 50's through the 80's is the best..kurt now doing soap poppers

  • Man this film is so bad!!

What cracks me up is - regardless of what happens here Van Damme and the mafia have already won!! Because the fight was between Van Damme and the 3 bullys - who got beaten up! So Van Damme won the dojo etc!!! So Jasons victory is pointless! - but hey "no retreat no surrender!!"

  • Nah cause at the beginning of the match, one of the Mafia guys uses the microphone and says that their fighter will take on all three Seattle fighters, plus anyone else "who has the balls to step into the ring."

  • RIP Kent Lipham, who died at the end of September. He was a nice guy, and he sent people autographs through IMBD free of any charges.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW, Kent Lipham is was the fat guy who bullied RJ in the movie.

  • gee...thats really bad news.

    yea i remember him...........

    how did he die?..

    movie brought back childhood memories......

  • That's sad. I have to admit, this movie looks cheesy. But I still think it's highly entertaining and the the fights are choreographed pretty well. It's one the movies you remember instantly, so it must some kind of impact on people, right?

  • Jason! Jason! Jason! Jason!

  • The acting in this movie is horrendous. With that being said this is actually one of Van Damn's best movies. Van Damn has come a long way since this cheesy movie. I don't know about anyone else but fat boy should have gotten an Oscar. I wonder where everyone in this movie has moved on to? We know Van Damn is a megastar. Fat boy probably died of a heart attack. "Kurt" is probably a gay lap dancer. The rest are probably dying or are dead from drugs and alcohol and still stuck in the 80's.

  • this film is terrible but its still a fav of mine. van damm so much better than 'jason'. he's got hero technique. so crisp.

  • they are all quite funny.van damme is a great fighter and martial artist but thats it ..........his acting skills are very poor.

  • Dude check his new movies out!

    (Not all new)

    In hell

    Replicant

    Wake of Death

    Amazing acting!

  • ok i will .thanx.

  • hmm van damme is verry good and boy in red is verry big 0!!!! van damme is verry good opposite this boy!

  • laugh my ass off that's some retarded shit.

  • this is one of my favorites, what is the song called

  • But this time it will be different.....Russian!

Shame that the sound is so out of sync.

  • @DirtyHarryinaction Bruce Lee was a good fighter but he never won any World chamionships.

  • This was NOT his first movie.

  • yes it was, i found out in an interview with Van-Damme, I did'nt think so, but it is.

  • actually his first film was monaco fever a 47 minute long french comedy
