  • if you smash up your bixler, have a look at my Bixler / EDF hybrid plane, its flying nice now and its damn fast!

  • Does this come with a remote

  • What battery

  • Can i use the stock charger

  • Is it 2 throttle and lipo and (RTF)

  • video very good ,,got my one a couple days ago but find motor absolute shit has only half the power of the first plane I had and motor makes lots of of funny noises where can I get another motor from, on drop down menu no mention of motor can you help please!!!!!!! bettya a couple of bucks I get no reponse from you so I,m left stuc k dont dissaoppoint me guys cheers Paul (NZ) earthquake county kaiapoi

  • @kaiapoi55 The motor might just be loose. There have been cases where the motor mount is loose, causing the motor to vibrate and make horrible noises. Feel free to join our forum... you can get a lot of great advice there.

  • Hi i found another really good review about the bixler. Just search for bixler review nonamerc.

I found his review really usefull!

  • hey guys I just posted a video response, maybe you could get HK to build one of these?? maybe with a 70mm EDF rather than a 64mm???

  • I saw a bixler today loose a wing on the 2nd flight. It hits the ground like a rock! Shit plane...

  • @goncaloareias98 I have put mine through loads and its great, almost bullet proof, maybe you have a problem with yours??

  • @herishidesigns The plane is not mine. The wings are to much flexible. In my opinion a one rod of CF is not enought. That plane made only 4 flights before crash.

  • @goncaloareias98 thats strange, I didnt put any extra in mine and it you look at my crash into a rugby post video you can see how strong it is, the winds and tail got recycled into a Hybrid Bixler EDF plane

  • @herishidesigns something was wrong with that plane, cheaper planes

  • @goncaloareias98 you try to get them to honour warrenty ha ha

  • Hobby King infomercial.

  • @unclesara

Chinese slave labor infomercial, epp forming is toxic as ....buy the steak not the sizzle.

  • tis is a very good rc airplane i love the bixler

  • Hey rc flyers i found this channel on youtube making great videos. they make the videos like they are profs but they dont have the views and comments like profs. He isnt a lazy guy, he edits 15 minute flites into 2 minute videos. Go check him out, search for nonamerc.

  • Nice Job, guys do you ever sell them after you are finished reviewing them? I'm a Disabled US Soldier and just would like to know? I like this set up!

  • Hey guys, does the bixler radio or the 6ch hobbyking radio support buddy boxing? Im interested in getting one and my uncle flys 1/5th scale planes and jets so he is a really good pilot and I would prefer if I could buddy box with him for my first few flights so I don't lose my plane! :)

  • Hey guys, I bought a bixler because of this review. I had never flown an RC plane before, but after a few crashes and quite a bit of cloth tape I can fly, land and have even attached a cam of the cabin to make some videos. Cheers guys.

  • I got here because I searched my name, Bixler, on YouTube. I liked and favorited it :)

  • i bet multiplex is mad

  • Hey Joshwins,

What would be your recommendations in order to upgrade the Bixler using :

    - A more powerfull motor : what would you see as something that would fit in ? Which dimensions ?

    - Another ESC, and which one ?

    - How would you reinforce the wings (longer and thicker carbon ?), need to reinforce the ailerons maybe ?

  • Can some on tell me. When using a tachometer on coaxial heli do i set it on 2 blade or 4 blade?

  • Got an early X-mas gift last nite from the wife: The Bixler. Winds are around 8-10 mph with temps in the mid-70s here in FL and I'm headed out for my Bixler maiden voyage.

  • wings flex because the spar is small and bends. had to upgrade a few things. i'm going to sell mine. i wasted money with this plane

  • Flitetest and Hobbyking are awsome !!!!!

keep up the good work !!!

for another video you should upgrade the Bixler and see how fast you can get it to go !!!!

  • This plane flys so well! Awesome review and I mounted a gopro on mine and crashed from really high up, all on video. It's totally fine! It was a dot in the sky. Spar poped. It on my channel. Saturday morning up with the clouds. Sweet plane!

  • i have put flaperons on my bixler it flyes great . i have used a turnigy 9z tx/rx . it slows it down very well so i get nice soft landings , not that it needed it the bixler is number 1 in my books ( i have 3 )

  • This video got it all started for me!!

  • Para de puxar o stick do profundor !! Deixe o modelo VOAR !! Ou o CG estava recuado ??

  • What is the Difference between this and the Easystar? They look almost the same? I really am stuck between both?

  • @RichWalston Easystar doesn't have built in ailerons and the standard motor is not brushless. AFAIK..

  • farmfield with wead. haha

  • Josh and Josh

Nice going both of you, I maiden my BIXLER a few days ago, awesome!!! glider, per you recomendations best CG is over the spar, you guys rock, oh yeah Hobby King too :)

  • Hey man great job. I just got the cloud fly from HK and i was wondering if i should glue the main wings in place or tape them so they can be disassembled if needed.

  • do you think this plane is good for to make uav from? if yes, is there anyway you can shows us how? thank you in advance.

  • i think i now like this a little better than the Hawksky. i havent bought one yet but i like this... can you please tell me what remote and other things i need to get with this plane.. im looking around the AU$150each mark (buying two planes wanna keep the cost down)

i need a remote with a decent range, so im not restricted when i get the hang of it..

says it comes with a brushless but is required to buy a 20A ESC isnt that a motor? please help!

  • What Stink rate? 5:48

  • i'm liking the farm field with weed.

    strange farmer

  • hey guys, I have done a review of the bixler that also shows some of the mods I have made to make it better! excellent plane!

  • Hi my name is josh and this is josh, HI!

  • I tried to order this plane from HobbyKing and shipping to the US was $65!!! A customer support rep said they only stock the item in Hong Kong. It would be nice if they could send a bunch of them to their US warehouse so shipping to customers in the states isn't so high.

  • Beautiful plane and beautiful place, very peacefull ^^

  • May be gettin this for my B-day. My dad could only get this but I won't care aslong as I GET THE FUCKING PLANE!!!!

  • hahahahaha i might be buying this plane, take out the weight in the front and replace it with a 3000mah. Flight time with that?

  • Hi guys, nice to see the plane close up and in depth, I got the Cessna 182 Mk2 from FMS ( I know how much you love the Cessna) I had problems with heavy landings and no suspension on the nose gear, so I just ordered one of these from Hobbyking, gotta wait an age for one to come from china :-) oh an also I'm in the process of building my own foamie :-) well if you want a laugh I'll post my first ever RC Plane flight !

  • to follow up, the shipping from china was excellent, EMS 3 day delivery! however HK was appalling, 9 days to send 1 item!

  • HEY GUYS!

CAN i GET SPARE PARTS IF I CRASH?????

CAN YOU MAKE ANOTHER VID PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • HEY GUYS!

CAN i GET SPARE PARTS IF I CRASH?????

  • I've been flying my Bixler for about 2 weeks now, what a great plane! Anyone who like me that wasted money on the money pit called a Wild Hawk, or a slower Ez Hawk, can tell you that the Bixler is the plane! I've seen countless vids on how to waste money trying to bring the Wild (looser) Hawk to a barely flyable plane, this Bixler already comes from the factory that way, for way less!!! I mainly fly 72" or larger Nitro planes, this Bixler is just plain fun!

  • Mine seems sorta slow and underpowered, any help?!?

  • @rcplaneguy1 Go to a 6/5 prop and balance it, also make sure your motor is not rubbing on the fuse as it turns.

  • @rcplaneguy1 Is the prop on backwards? Have you tried a different battery?

  • how much is the controller

  • Great job Josh Scott!!

  • Are there any spare parts available for this plane?

  • does josh bixler have any association with making or production on the bixler plane

  • @jordanhuusy No... Hobby King only took his recommendation on what to offer as a good RTF for beginners.

  • @flitetest Hey guys, what connections does the ESC have. I am buying the Orange RX from Hobbyking, and some batteries. What else am I going to need? I am using my DX5E radio. Send me a message back giving me some detail on what I will need. The SEC is the TAE-25A, a couple of 2200mah 3S batts, and of course the Bixler ARF. Send me a message guys! Thanks and great channel!

  • @flitetest hey guys nice show btw.......need help!!! can you put landing gear on this plane....and what type of glue should i buy for it from hobby king?? plz reply!!!!

  • I think you sold me. I think I'ma order one of these bad boys to train on.

  • @ThaStunter Yes.

  • Be good to see more of the plane flying with the other Josh on the sticks....

  • He finally manned up :)

  • Great to see Josh S. flying. He has come a long way. Looks like the Bixler will be a great plane for noobs.

  • Nice music!

  • ya could I use a 3s 2200? or is that too big?

  • @DClegoboy12345678 I have an Easystar which is very close to being the same plane. I am not sure of the CG location on this plane, I imagine it is close to the same. I find that with a 3S 1800 Turnigy my EZ balances nicely, the 2200 is a bit much and makes it nose heavy.

  • @dwculp ok thanks

  • Good review from the point of view of a noob like me. My only concern is that you speak a little too fast for me to understand. So sometimes, it gets quite tricky.

What is the difference between a Bixler, an AXN, a Parkfun Fusion and an EZ (despite the numbers of "channels" to use) ?

Can you change the engine and get another BL motor?

Can I use my Lipo 2200 mAh, 3S with this motorisation? I also have 5 x 3S - 1300 mAh .What is the flight time with such a battery? Thanks for any information.

  • Why does my Hobby King AXN Floater Jet - which is basically the same plane - nose dive when I give it throttle and your plane doesn't?

  • Very Nice guys. Great beginners model and can really expand your fun by carrying cameras, add the hobbyking leds and it makes a perfect nightflyer, or even build a box to carry on the front so you can drop parachutes etc. I have done all this with a similar model and also have one for FPV. I have been flying for about 20 years, but still have so much fun with these kinds of models as they are so versatile (also a top slope soarer for light - medium lift)...... Awesome job guys

  • For those guys in Sydney, the Hobby King shop had 3 or 4 Bixlers on the floor yeserday. Didn't get a price though.

  • HK "made an error" in calculating shipping and demanded that I pay $10 more on top of the $20 I already paid when I tried to buy this plane. This is dishonest and I refuse to pay it!! I wouldn't have ordered if shipping was $30 (from USA warehouse to boot!!, that's pushing it! HK knows this and pulls this bait and switch to cover it. What a crock!

  • I miss my old crashed beginner plane - it was so relaxing to fly!

    I like your vids guys!

  • Nice plane, Josh! I'm a big fan of the Dynam Hawk Sky (I use it for AV/AP) and this basically seems to be a better version of the Hawk Sky. I'm sure a lot of RC pilots will earn their wings on the Bixler!

Also, I'm happy Josh Scott checked the stall characteristics for us at least 10 times during the video... :-)

  • Subed

  • 0:32 !

  • Hey Josh S, guess what? We are all proud of you! Nice flying!

  • It's great to see Josh Scott finally flying on his own.

  • Looks like a good FPV platform!

  • 5:49...he said "stink rate" :D

  • Don't EVER return anything back to Hobby King unless you are ready for months and months of waiting. The worst company for customer service in the world. I sent some Lipos back in April, they have them, now I'm waiting for them to inspect them. NEVER AGAIN. I write this here because you are sponsored by HK! BIG Lesson learned, and HK has lost a lot of my money!

  • @UtRadioGuy Have you gone to RCGroups and posted a message in the HK forum? I have seen Anthony Hand answer peoples questions and help people out in there.

  • Comment removed

  • @dwculp - I've done everything you can think of. I have posts up all over there, and have had a ticket going with the Support center since April. I even have a post up that says "To Anthony Hand," And nothing! They have my money and my brand new never used lipos. They were the wrong size so I sent them back. My mistake. I had the USPS track it down, and HK uses a UPS store for their USA returns. My package was returned there and HK picked up. HK has confirmed they have it, and still nothing.

  • Nice stickers too....

  • looks like a great beginner plane. I started out with one just like it. Nice to see Josh S flying.

  • i don't think the plane was balanced/trimmed properly. it seems to be bopping like a dolphin the whole time.

  • Eh, stick with the AXN Floater. It is a lot harder to set up but the end product is worth it. Don't bank or pitch +/- 20 degrees. Fly at least two mistakes high, if it starts to stall gently ease the nose down. I'd highly recommend you spend some time in a simulator first. Until you can take off and land at least five times in a row don't fly in real life!

  • easybixstar

  • What is easier to fly the bixler plane or the axn floater jet

  • @kGCryTeK I love the axn floater jet - mine's got lights on it now for awesome night flying! :D I should also mention my friend, who'd never flown an rc plane before, could fly the floater jet first go without crashing after some time on the simulator.

The bixler looks like it has similar characteristics, but with the advantage of having everything in the box. Great job Josh's and HK.

  • @EverydayPorsche Thanks for you response also what simulator did you use?

  • @kGCryTeK Hey mate,

Just used FMS - it's pretty basic but it runs on low spec PCs and it's free! :D

  • try moving the cg forward to take the elevator sensitivity away

  • Plane a bit Tail heavy. They were flying above and behind them. Bad landing. Can't HK get more pro and senior flyer for the video instead of Hip-

    Hop stars ?

  • @Ujjwalis Agreed..it definitily looked tail heavy, the plane was on a constant fugoid cycle and every turn looked in verge of stall.. still it shows that its really easy to fly for newbies :D

Also they keep recomending the 1300mAh batt.. and just same as the famous CloudsFly this plane really asks for a 2200 to keep the CG spot on (or slighty nose heavy wich is good) and you get 900mAh more (+50% more flight time)

  • Plane a bit Tail heavy. They were flying above and behind them. Bad landing. Can't HK get more pro and senior flyer for the video instead of Hip-Hop stars ?

  • @Ujjwalis with utmost respect sir, i think the reason for HK getting beginners is so that they are able to bring out the learning points which a beginner may learn while building or flying.... things which i guess more experienced pilots may not mention because they presume that you know and it is basic stuff.... just my opinion...

  • you guys have got to have the best intro on youtube

  • once again. Great video!!!!

  • "Did you say a farm filled with weed?" LOL! great video!!

  • Congrats to Josh for an awesome flight, keep at it :-) And congrats to Josh for having a plane in your name, looks great for a beginner :-)

  • New Music!

  • Great Job Josh & Josh!

  • Should've called it the 'Scott' not the 'Bixler' as it is for the novice to intermediate :-). Well done on another good episode.

  • @BrettAltea yeah but biXler sounds cooler

  • you say that the aircraft batteries will last about 20 minutes or so, what about the transmitter battery? how long do those typically last and does hobby king or other places sell extra batteries for the transmitters like Futaba, or JR?

  • well done josh on a good flight.

  • best motor???

    prop???

    lacha from portugal

  • Will a Turnigy 3s 1800 or 2200 fit?

  • @chops1sc I am n ot sure of the exact balance point and weight of this aircraft, however, it is essentially an Easystar with ailerons. My Easy star balances well with a Turnigy 3S 1800.

  • great

  • Josh.................that was a great flight

  • Teaching my son to fly at the moment and this episode has been a lot of fun!! Will show it to him shortly!

  • 0:32

  • one of the better episodes you've made

  • im ordering one

  • Nice flying Josh...Keep it up and we won't call you a noob....LOL...

  • Awesome! I will be getting this plane for a cheap fpv platform. When I use this for fpv would you recommend using like a 3s 2200 battery to power both the plane and the fpv gear?

    Thanks!

  • Glad to see Josh Scott finally flying! That begs the question, will he get his own plane by HK someday? ? ? hehe.

  • Nice flying plane. When are you going to open up a hobby store. You are not to far from me. Build it and people will come.
