Also he lets go of his backhand like b borg. My kid also started doing this on his own. Was wondering if that was ok, but I see some other kid doing it.
Good to study the competition. Got to watch out for burnout though. My kid was getting good at hitting and pitching in bball but didn't like it after awhile. We play tennis alot right now and he still likes to practice. Thanks for this video!
Great Video! He's got superb technique at such a young age. Would be interesting what Coach Nic would've said if he'ld seen him. My son recently won the Little Mo Intl 8 and under in Bolletierri last Dec. Good luck Robbie and keep playing!
u noe, after hearing all those news reports and stuff, we have to realize one thing, even though some athletes are forced by their parents to becoming great, it isn't always the parents' dream, sometimes its the kids who want to do it, and y should he stop it? Even though it is those stories where parents pressure that is so publicized, it isn't always the case. Most success stories are when the athlete themselves want it, not their parents. e.g Sampras
Hey, he isn't just good...HE'S AMAZING! However, he will not grow to become a pro, infact I don't think he'll play for too long. His parents are making a huge mistake pressuring a 1st grader this way..let the kid live a normal life. That doesn't mean he doesn't play tennis, that would be stupid because he's really good...but pushing him this hard will only make he hate the sport. Never make it feel like a job.
look to allu ppl who believe thaty its SURE that hell become a pro well ur wrong. we cant be sure that hell keep on training that hell keep on getiing better and so on
He hits just fine. But we have learned over and over again that this means nothing in the big picture. We will know about this boy just like all the others, by what he is doing when he is 20 years old.
This kid is flippin' amazing, fabulous technique!!!He must have a great coach.Technique wise he is very much like Agassi. He just needs to keep working hard and he'll be a future star.He will just need to improve his physical strength and improve his power on his shots,oh ye and his mental side to make him a fighter. This is how he will need to improve in the future to be a star!!great vid :)
you're kidding? by the time this guy is 19-20 his college will be paid for entirely if he keeps at it. you don't have to be pro for a scholarship, but this kid might be.
Yeah, they shouldn't give him any skills to be successful in life. Especially anything as enjoyable as tennis, with an added danger of keeping fit. He can just work in Burger King or something when he's older, would be fine.
his forehand is very good, his backhand can be improved. With his forehand volley he should keep his left arm closer to his racket, so he has more control. his serve looks good
nice strokes. bolletieri tried to get my daughter to go to a 1 hander like he did ur son. half stroke with 2 hands then let go. my daughter already had a great 1 hander with eastern bh grip but girls game is about the 2 hander. he also said her continental grip on serve was too advanced for her age. b4 he saw her serve. next thing u hear is nick yelling out WOW great serve! do not change a thing. if you want u can see the serve in vid search Tennis Club Split ur son does hit very well
This video was Robbie first visit to Bollteri & was taped in 10 minutes & has not been edited, he had not worked with any pros prior to this tape. There should be sound with this tape However does not seem to work on u tube.
Woah, interesting backhand!!!! I'm guessing that's due to his size? I do love the shoulder turn then step they teach over there. Great modern forehand. As long as the kid quits growing RIGHT now I still have a chance : )
This backhand came natural Robbie now has a 1 handed backhand since last October. I saw some other kids at the Bollteri whom had the same backhand 2 realease with 1 which seems to be natural progression towards the 1 hand backhand.
Also he lets go of his backhand like b borg. My kid also started doing this on his own. Was wondering if that was ok, but I see some other kid doing it.

he's quite good, but your saying that he is perfect. Techinique isn't everything, agility and mental readiness are also factors in a match.
julesj98 9 months ago
ok hes no a pro you act like hes perfect
IAMspeeder2fast4you 10 months ago
Eventually on his forehand he's not gonna want to catch his racquet. Look at pros they don't because you lose racquet head speed and acceleration
chasemash123 10 months ago
On his backhand he should keep his left arm straight for more power

Did someone teach him all that stuff, or did he pick it up naturally because it's the most effective way of doing things.

Took a look at his forehand... it seems his racquet may go behind him a little too much... keep the hand(his right hand) in line with the ball
