If you do to their website on MySpace, they were founded by Ibrahim in MALI...I don't know why their spokesperson referred to Libya-Berber culture??? Just check out their website to know the truth and read Ibrahim's bio! They are Berbers or Amazigh and they speak Tamachek. Their culture is older than the Arabic, Greek and Roman ones!

sparse expressive. Listened to this band on a dark late night journey home. The surprise could be that it was through agricultural, green land in North Fife, Scotland. But ecoute, ecoute. Magnificent music.

I first saw Tinariwen on 'later with Joules Holland' a while back and thought they were amazing. I hope they come to the UK again I might get a chance to see them live.
