u put a smile on the face of a true windies fan! i remeber this team and this ground...my family's from barbados! i really should be writing a proposal for a client but this cricket got me bad...memories! god bless u rob- wherever you are in the world.
@harsh6367 Most WI pitches were very slow. Only Jamaica and maybe Barbados at time were on the quicker side, but certainly not fast. Lots of dubious bounce too.
@robelinda2 a genuine batsmen one of a kind. most batsmen nowdays likes to hang around for the love of money. He retired knowing thats his time has come. A dignified ending to a wonderful career. Sorely missed until now!
@oporciuncula dunno about that that, i think he hung on for way too long, his batting in this 1991 series was embarrassing, even this 221 was scratchy all the way through, his technique had deserted him, our bowling was ordinary and he cashed in, but almost all the other tests he looked awful. 40 years old is as late as you can leave it to retire really.
another classic from robelinda2.. Request for a compilation of the west indies catching in the 1984 test series in Australia. I remember seeing them during the VHS days. Richie Richardson and Harper took some amazing catches while OZs dropped sitters. Remember 2 specifically - Rixon flick, leading edge to gully and richardson full stretch to his left off Marshall. and Border flicking Marshall and taken by Harper at SHORT LEG..
@robelinda2 I'll second ssjumbo's request. Anything with Richie Richardson diving forward in the slips cordon (which is so much more difficult than diving to the side) would be good to see. And there were plenty of those in the Test series, particularly in the First Test in Perth.
Its a shame though...well i think nowadays players should retire when they know they have passed it..Thanks for the feed!

Another one of my boyhood heroes. Had a sticky start at test level if I remember but soon became one of the best openers around

@ssjumbo2 GREAT request man, i'll add it to my list of compilations to do! WI were a brilliant natural fielding side.

You finally get Greenidge out for a double ton only to see Viv Richards replace him. Tough day for a bowler!
