  • what should i do if i get a backspin ball that skims lower than yours? i often lift it too much.

  • @Detherocable Then it's a matter of brushing the ball a bit more to get more topspin. You can also play your shot with a little more forward momentum and a slightly less vertical action.

  • @AKESTONJjj Thanks for the info! :)

  • PING PONG TALKIN BLUES 2 is now uploaded on Youtube....Dan

  • watch?v=0xzF6J-JvOg&feature=related

This is a Backhand Topspin ;-)

  • the end of the backhand just looks.... WEIRD

  • i used a lot of wrist in this stroke and still got lots of balls caught in the net, i feel uncomfortable having a very vertical stroke, will changing my bh rubber into a rubber tht has higher throw help? im currently using bryce hard and thinking of changing to hurricane 3

  • @broro100 Personally I think it is better to focus on your technique rather than changing rubber.

  • @pingskills well it's just tht i used hurricane 3 neo before changing to bryce hard and i used to have less problems dealing with this stroke

  • @broro100 The choice of rubbers is a personal one. If you like the Hurricane 3 neo better then you should definitely use it. Picking something you are comfortable with is important because then it allows you to concentrate on your technique. If you are always worried about your rubber, your mind thinks that is the problem. So based on what you have told me I would switch back to ease your mind. Again, it is a personal choice that you should make.

  • @broro100 Hurricanes in my experience are very inconsistent

Some you can get are amazing and some are just terrible

But if its your prefernce i would buy a few sheets --they are only cheap

  • thank you so mach

  • @fareslink You're welcome.

  • I Like IT!!!!!

  • @ramazone100 Thanks!

  • you wrist snaps way too much.

  • @kizaman He's better than you so stay quiet bitch

  • @ThePhrozenPiklez lol He isn't. Goodluck learning your backhand. If i were you i'd watch kreanga.

  • @kizaman Well Kreanga certainly does have a great backhand, no arguments there.

  • Thanks Alois and team... Internet is a boon and u both are sublimely blessed by God to get these skills mastered.

Learnt a lot from videos and have been practising them slowly one at a time. Wish me luck !! I am getting better and better one step a time...I am so much inspired by looking at your tutorial videos. Thanks Once again :) !!

By the way one personal query to Alois: U sound OZ but do not look like one. Are you Indian or Asian by Origin? You very much look like South Indian :)

  • so shit balls

  • the ball is to high, so slow, it` s no table tennis

  • Lol This is not backhand spin

  • can t do it

  • @SiroMiss What is the biggest problem you are facing? Try asking a question on our website and we'll see if we can help you out.

  • The motion looks so ugly.

  • Thanks for your reply. Problem is that i am 26 year old working professinal in India. I went to a coach on weekends but it is too crowded he can give on 15 mins to each individual.

I do not have anyone to practice multiball with :(. When i play in office, i get a feeling that i have improved my game but i lack conistency.

I beleive practicing longer rallies can improve my game. That is why i am looking for a robo.

  • @keshikalunch OK. Then it sounds like a robot might be a good option for you. If you go to the Ask the Coach section and search for robot, you might find some useful information. Good luck.

  • Do you think practising with a ping pong robo improves the game. If yes then do you have any suggestion for a good robo?

    Waiting for you reply :)

  • @keshikalunch You can definitely improve using a robot. However I think that you can do more if you have someone who can give you mulit-ball. I think that multi-ball gives you an experience closer to what you will get in a game. Multi-ball is where a coach (or training partner) has a bucket of balls and hits them to you one after the other. As the person is hitting them with a Table Tennis bat it is more match like and they can vary things at any stage.

  • is it the same technique if you play with penhold?

  • @MultiGangstershit No the penhold backhand is quite different. If you look on our channel we do have a lesson on the penhold grip.

  • also played with primorac off- .. great blade .. it has so much control and its good to plant the point ... anyone who dont have good backhand (like me :) ) but want to dominate the point can try to use samsonov carbon with donic desto F1 on forhand and tibhar grass on backhand .. but there are so many combinations ..

  • @andrewizcoolio I don't think there is a best. It is a personal choice and everyone will have their own favourite. There are so many blades available that are all good quality. Like I said, I'm now using the PingSkills Touch but I used to use the Butterfly Primorac OFF- which I really liked.

  • I think my coach would tell me that that stroke would be too large

  • @andrewizcoolio We had the blades made up. The ITTF does not have a list of authorised blades. The main requirement is that they are 85% wood which the PingSkills Touch is and it is a legal blade to use.

  • @andrewizcoolio great! That is a lot of training. I'm using a PingSkills Touch blade with Xiom Vega Pro at the moment. What equipment do you use?

  • nice

  • @InyM2 thanks.

  • @andrewizcoolio You're welcome. That is a good rating. How often do you train?

  • This is very hard to succeed when trying it against a spinning downspin!

  • Isn't his topspin to long, his bat(idk how you guys call it) has to end on eye/eyebrow level, but his bat goes all the way away from his body, so I guess he won't be able to receive the next ball?(because he is not ready yet).

  • awesome video helped me with my shot but not enough as my friends are all choppers and so the ball is always short so i dont get much practice but once i hit it feels graet

  • @029Vicky If your friends push the ball back short, then you have a couple of options. If they are choppers and don't attack very much you could push the ball back long and then it would be hard for them to keep the ball short so you should be able to then attack. Or you could also push the ball short and wait for them to push the ball back long. The advantage of this is that you draw them in close to the table before you make a strong attack. This makes it difficult for them to recover.

  • this isnt even a sport why is the guy wearing freakin short shorts......

  • @CTJgumby45243 I think you'll find it is one of the most popular sports in the World.

  • @pingskills i agree but ppl in the usa arent as good lol

  • @pingskills I do have a question about the short shorts though. That is something I've never accepted. I don't believe shorter shorts makes you run faster.

  • @CTJgumby45243 You obviously are too ignorant to have made this comment. It's actually one of the most popular sports on the planet. Besides the United States and a few other countries this sport generates Millions in prize money and contract endorsements.

Learn to research before making stupid comments.

  • @LookB3hindU i said i was sorry fuckoff

  • thanks! i'm getting really better with these videos.

all i need is more proper physical application

  • @useurcamera I'm glad you're benefiting from them. Keep practicing hard!

  • A very clear demonstration of the technique. I have one question though: The backspin balls demonstrated in th video are considered long, so it is possible to have the starting postion below the table. However, if the backspin ball is relatively short, is it still possible to use this technique? I keep hitting the net...

  • @ravenrose89 If the ball is short so that it would bounce twice on the table then you cannot use the topspin. This is because (as you mention) you cannot start your bat below the table and still make the correct stroke. Your options then are to push the ball back or to flick the ball. We have videos covering both of these strokes on our website. Take a look at them and see if they help you out for the short backspin balls.

  • @pingskills Awesome! I think backhand flick would be the corect response in this case. It looks easy but man, its really hard to get the right feel. Thank you for answering my question. I will definitely recommend your site to my friends.

  • @ravenrose89 Practice getting your racket speed up. When you can generate the correct speed you'll have no problem with the backhand flick shown in the Ping Skills video.

  • Were the shorts necessary?

  • @iN3RDR4G3 Hells yeah!

  • jeff has a long movement with his backhand loop,i have a much shorter and faster one.but im sure he goes so slow only to show how its done

  • good

  • my backspin loops would land in the net.

  • @yobmas722 Try using a more vertical action to lift the backspin.

  • @pingskills hehe what i meant was backhand instead i said backspin silly me.

  • WRONG TEKNIK!!!?? a backhandloops start over the table not under loool

  • @vmstilling You need to ensure that you can lift the backspin ball. The more backspin the ball has on it the more vertical your stroke will need to be.

  • nice video , it teach me a lot ...

  • @mihayustaudi Glad we could help. Be sure to check out our website for more resources to help you with your Table Tennis.

  • tennis is easier since it has larger area :) bigger ball , bigger racket..

  • nice @ 0:34

  • nice @ 0:34

  • the key point is twist your wrist

  • @popeye135 yes...twist...but make sure u dont break it :D

  • lolll pingpong is easy compared to tennis D:

  • @poptagcajb Does this mean you are better at Ping Pong than you are at tennis?

  • @pingskills Excellent question!

  • @pingskills hell yeah

  • @poptagcajb ahahah its obvious that u havent played ping pong at all or with anyone average lol

  • @poptagcajb cool story bro, tell it again

  • It feels really weird starting from really low below the table and going vertically up - like you mentioned! BTW - im about buy BOOST TC any one heard much about this rubber???

  • what shouid i do if the backspin come's to me real slow and low ?

  • How Do counter A really Spinny Serve Its Only Part Of My I struggle with my game Please help me

i either put it over to high or i put it off the table

    thanxs

  • How to do topspin or the side spin

  • How to do topspin or the sidespin

  • Thanks for this video. Backhand looping backspin is probably the worst part of my game.

Seems like the backspin being given to him was kind of light, though. Or is it just me?

  • i train soccer and table tennis i train table tennis just for fun :D

  • @Compantino You know nothing about ESPN, fool! ESPN is owned and controlled by Jew predators like all other American TV channels. Their biggest goal is to promote some particularly stupid sport and draw in a large of audience (the stupid American sheep) for their ad sponsers to prey on. Also, you stop saying that table tennis is the hardest of all sports in order to promote yourself being a chicken-shit ping pong player. You are no different than the American sheep watching Killerspin, fool!

  • i prefer to slap through the ball or smack it gives it more pop

a brushing motion isnt as fast

  • this goes for all your videos you have helped me so alot. now i play with more confidence and know wat im doing

  • i can't believe all the naysayers. jeff is solid and his explanation is great.

  • there is nothing more satisfying then getting a ball with huge backspin and then shooting the ball diagonally with tremendous topspin sidespin to the outer side :) sidespin + topspin = the best

  • I like the closing music, nice touch.

  • Comment removed

  • tho this video is about technique..only try to worry about the concept of how to implement topspin.

(let the ball come to the paddle and just have the paddle angled and lift with a short and fast burst burst of energy)

-angle depends on the hight of the ball.

  • i got halfway through this and thought.... what the fuck am i watching this for...

  • omg where his hand going?? ...

  • viel zu viel nach oben mehr unterarm un handgelenk wäre besser der topspin is ne net zu gebrauchen

  • Show you add stupid comments can you just leave

  • lol foreskin

  • ESPN ranked it as the #1 hardest hand-eye-coordinated sport

  • ur commenting on a video of ping pong OBVIOUSLY ur the homo making fun of a video yet u still watch it

  • mate ur mum is in a wheelchair go change her diper

  • @codythemadman diAper learn to spell

    b4 ur insult

  • @drthmstrbtr yes it is :)

  • @N3iL7 i just LOVE the simplicity YET complexitiy of table tennis!

    its quite the enigma

  • @drthmstrbtr same here...that's y i started playin it and learned myself well by observing others...and made me a college champion :)

  • @drthmstrbtr lol it is a hard sport to play

  • what sorta fag looks @ ping pong videos

    yet doesnt play TABLE TENNIS.......

    ur remedial

  • u cant learn anything from that kreanga video, his technique comes to him naturally and if you tried teaching it to beginners it would end in disaster.

  • @Izraphel u may be right but remember one thing that u can only teach to someone who wanna learn :)

  • great video thank you

  • i'm confused. recently a 2300 level USATT certified coach recommended a stroke like this vs backspin. at the same time, i watched an 1800 level player use the more compact/forward over the table mechanics to BH loop against underspin. is the former technique "safer" (consistency wise) and the latter technique "more dangerous" (because it's off the bounce?

  • what's 2300 level USATT, and 1800 lever player? Don't really understand! I'm from europe, what would that mean in the worldranking?

  • In the US, players are ranked because they don't have real leagues. So #1 USATT player is currently the best US-player.

  • no we just dont have as many people interested in the sport like some other countries im sure jeff plumb could smash you off the table and he's not evan close to our best player

  • This is a terrible example to go by, search for Rosskopf for a great backhand to try to emulate. His stroke is not too long like Kreanga and it still has great power.

  • Talking about backhand power, look at Persson and Schlager...But they are bad examples to emulate

  • Bad Technique. No way should the finish be that high, recovery time will suffer. This is a pure European backhand(and not a great one at that), but the chinese do it differently. Smaller, quicker stroke that goes forward more.

  • Backspin topspin actually designed for left-handed. I have quick recovery using it. I use it as a low smash backhand topspin against my opponents who use backspin to make sure that he/she hit the ball flying to my side, hit my side of the table, and let it be high enough to end it will my version of smash backhand leftspin (not returned hit).

  • this is topspin against backspin you have to lift it more if you go forward the ball will go into the net

  • Nah, Not when timed properly. A shorter, quicker stroke that is forward is much more effective. All the chinese sure do fine with it...

  • then u cant do it, jk

  • wad if im using penhold?how shud i do

  • do you use RPB? if you do, you can use it similar to the technique in the video, bringing your stroke high.

  • great, i was having trouble returning backspin with backhand, thanks a lot

  • Woot MSac

  • Great video !!!

    5*****

  • when you opponent gets close to the net to smash it down what is the best defence to return the hit without it flying past his head? lol sorry im abit amuture

  • nice video, thanks i really needed the help for my backhand.

  • great videos!!!! you guys are the best

  • Excellent video!!

  • im 12 and these video's are helping me so much

i learned the pelduim service in an day

  • I'm teaching my 10 year old and these videos are great. thanks

  • Thanks for the kind words. We are pleased the videos are helping.

  • I like to watch people in a higher grade then myself. Also I have started filming me and my friend playing at MSAC and it good to see yourself playing to fine tune the skills and pick out small faults. Keep playing and kick ass!!!

  • when he brings the paddle down how low is it? a foot?

  • it really depends on the player. If you are learning the back hand loop for the first time you might just want to go down like half a foot, then after you learn that, bring the paddle down to a foot. After you have mastered the basic stroke then you can bring the paddle as far down as you want, as long as it's comfortable for you. for the most part though most people bring the paddle down about a foot because a lot of spin/speed is generated at that distance.

  • I agree, the more speed and spin you want lower your bat and you will get a stronger stroke. But be careful this does take longer to do and not wise in a fast pasted match or if you enemy (thats what I call them haha) is close to the table. Better used if they are further away from the table. Once you get a good feeling for the stroke then you can do it really fast then do it whenever you feel like it.

  • I must hold the racquet in the hand with top the spin loosely or correctly firmly

  • Too long of a stroke

  • Yeah, thanks a lot, this videos are really helpful, and awesome.

  • Is it common to turn arround the bat while lifting up?

Below table: red side front ->

    Eye level: black side front

Just wanted to know because I got a lot of problems with my BH topspin .. and this seems new to me :)

  • fking hell this is at msac melbourne :D i go there every day to train dude

  • Dude he is doing multiball... where you basically try to get your strokes right...... and this video is instructional too, so i think thats why the stroke is exaggerated...

  • more wrist dude

  • hey, i've got an question:

friend of mine got long pimples on his backhand & we're practicing quite often to topspin his pimples and when i topspin it with my backhand the pressure is gone ?

    where's the prob?

i really have a good backhand and try to "shoot" it back, his spin is no prob at all, but the speed is definately gone... ?

can anybody maybe help me ?

  • you look really bright critiquing an olympic athelete's technique.

I'd bet money you are a US1000 player with speedglued Bryce on a Schlager Carbon.

  • very nice video guys.

    this helped me a lot.

  • No, It is good. I want to see your backhand topspin.

  • pfft...

these guys represent Australia. You don't even represent anything so I think you should keep your mouth shut

  • "Twice better"?

At least his English skills are better than yours.

  • very nice! the harder backhand with the shoulder turn looks pretty, i bet thats won him a few points!

  • still good guys

  • there's nothing wrong with this guy's swing, you're all just fucking moron armchair experts. shut up and watch the video.

  • Man, you`re fantastic!!
