I think in general, you can't just blame America for the hideousness that is mainstream music in 2012, although they do contribute heavily with such talentless excuses for 'artists' such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Kelly Osbourne need I go on.

Although they come from elsewhere too, what about T.A.T.U - Russia, Jedward - Ireland, Aqua - Denmark, Shakira - Colombia.

People just fail to realize what good music is. I mean, seriously, it happens with almost anything. Like Heron Blue by Sun Kil Moon because of Gears 3, or Iron by Woodkid because of Assassins Creed. People tend to listen to shitty music, and good music only comes into play when it's presented with something popular.

I had rediscovered a mix of theirs, and now I've gained newfound appreciation for this album, Mezzanine. Glad they put forth Heligoland.

Years ago when I was working in a drive-thru in NY, a guy would come through 2 times a week and he would be blasting this song. I finally asked him who this was and he told me and gave the infor on the band...this is way before House was even a thought. I thanked him for the info and planned on buying it after work until I saw him stop his car and run back to the window. He handed me his cd and told me to enjoy it, a gift from him to me just because he thought I deserved to have it. Awesome day!

Yes, Mezzanine was the greates, the masterpiece of MA. Each song has it's own climate, often dark. Especialy Mezzanine is known as "trip hop" genre. I'm glad that people are discovering new music groups and have a good msic taste :)
