@GSR2009 so who is good then ?, personally I like those song it's different but I like rizzle kicks, example, pendulum and a remix of one TATU song but I agree that jedward and Justin bieber are awful but you can say no to shakira
I think in general, you can't just blame America for the hideousness that is mainstream music in 2012, although they do contribute heavily with such talentless excuses for 'artists' such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Kelly Osbourne need I go on.
Although they come from elsewhere too, what about T.A.T.U - Russia, Jedward - Ireland, Aqua - Denmark, Shakira - Colombia.
So to just pick America out and none others is just idiotic, but as I said they do produce the most of it.
This used to be played on the chill-out time show on the radio here, when I was younger I went through a huge stage of being too frightened to sleep. This song used to help relax me :)
wow all of you faggots who are hating on house.....its a great show that played this song and brought it out into the media idk why you faggots are soo pissed about it.....fucking retards....stop hating on the ppl who heard it cuz of house....its a good song who gives a shit my god.....some people are just stupid
Incredibly beautiful & unusual sounding music I'm falling deep in love with. Wow, this one has a female vocalist, sort of trip hop sounding, sort of gothic, totally gorgeous sound.
Personally I like one song by Pitbull but this stuff blows everything that's playing in the clubs today out of the water. I only have this song and have yet to buy the rest of the album on iTunes. But I will in the near future :)
@coldstaind91 :/... Both are good. That "fuck House" stung a little D:. The show's good. And yes, it is annoying that people credit Massive Attack with House. People just fail to realize what good music is. I mean, seriously, it happens with almost anything. Like Heron Blue by Sun Kil Moon because of Gears 3, or Iron by Woodkid because of Assassins Creed. People tend to listen to shitty music, and good music only comes into play when it's presented with something popular.
@TriggerMisaGamerGirl oh god, I'm sorry lol I didn't mean to say Fuck HOUSE...I just type stupid shit sometimes lol and IMO, it's good that people find great music from popular stuff because it's pretty much made me find my most favorite band...and it sucks that most people listen to the shitty stuff. I always get looks when I'm blaring some Massive Attack and Staind when everyone else is all hopped up on Pitbull and Beiber...ugh...
Ok that add where the dude talks about bad breath needs to fucking stop. He is so fucking annoying i want to shit in and around his mouth then beat him to death
I had never heard of this group and I'm disappointed I hadn't! These guys are great! Now a days the only music that receives fame and publicity is shit!
Years ago when I was working in a drive-thru in NY, a guy would come through 2 times a week and he would be blasting this song. I finally asked him who this was and he told me and gave the infor on the band...this is way before House was even a thought. I thanked him for the info and planned on buying it after work until I saw him stop his car and run back to the window. He handed me his cd and told me to enjoy it, a gift from him to me just because he thought I deserved to have it. Awesome day!
@EhnVheee When someone passes on a tune for you keep, more so when you don't even know them. it's something real special, same with books, something very humane about that act, as if by recognizing their is a communication through sounds and words that is just unspoken, glad it happened to you because that is a gesture you will never forget......................
as a long time massive attack lover, i think its great a wider audience can come to appreciate their musical genius through house or whatever - no need to be elitist about it. if you like elizabeth frasers vocals, you should also check out another HIGHLY underrated musical outfit: cocteau twins.
sorry guys, but the only reason this sounds even remotely familiar is because of house. ;p face it, house took a song & made it popular for everyone to listen to. honestly; some people have never heard of massive attack UNTIL they heard the theme on house. it doesn't make it a bad thing, massive attack has more fans now. stop whining.
I have to say, I think Tricky's Maxinquaye is a more solid overall album than Mezzanine, but Mezzanine's opening 4 song salvo (including this gem) is an AMAZING run of songs.
@Cardammon They may have been formed before the show started, but very little people knew about them before it became the house theme, so no. MA got known because of house.
@Cardammon Actually House came first. It was there in the eighties. And Massive Attack's first album arrived in 1991. But regardless Massive Attack has a sound of their own. And this album is #1 of all time for me no matter the genre
@Cardammon the truth is that MA wouldn't have the fans it does now without house, thats the situation with most indie bands they get big by getting noticed. so the fact that house used this song for the opener is a good thing for the band.
@restlesspride666 good for you, but you pretty much just proved what i said. indie bands usually get discovered from movies or tv shows.. so dont freak out cause you found them through a different source of media, and stop trollin go outside! maybe listen to manchester orchestra cause their pretty dang good too.
@Lax4life4749 dear, oh dear. i think you need to do some research. massive attack were one of the most important groups of their generation, completely pioneering a new sound in the 90s. 7 years before this album was released, they had released the ground-breaking blue lines, which included their breakthrough single, 'unfinished sympathy'.
Yes, Mezzanine was the greates, the masterpiece of MA. Each song has it's own climate, often dark. Especialy Mezzanine is known as "trip hop" genre. I'm glad that people are discovering new music groups and have a good msic taste :)
lol they are huge dude you realize angle is used in like 100 different tv series and movies well not quite but a fair amount. oh the royalties on that song would be awesome.. pure brilliants in my books in the same legue as this binary universe
@CrookedX777 uhhhhhh Massive attack is very popular. Are you from the usa? Cause they are not as popular in america, but massive attack was huge in Europe. America has shit taste in music.
@tacosaucemafia Eh, for the most part yes. The mainstream here is distasteful in my opinion and this is why I never listen to my radio. I love this deep style of music though so I wouldn't lose hope in all of us :) And yes Massive attack was very big in Europe but it didn't really catch on in the US sadly
@CrookedX777 Do some more research. Who exactly would we be worshipping? They never agree on who their members are, or what their members' names are. It's why they're so good, but it doesn't change the fact that they probably want to be left to their art and their own circles. Who needs fame when you have genius and real friends?
