The majority of these bums do need money for food so I give them a dollar. Yes there are a few that use it for drugs but most of them are truly needy and could use some spare change to eat.

It's really difficult to approach people who ask me for money. I just feel like they will not use the money that I give them for food or something helpful. I just want to take them to a restaurant and fill them and take them to a store and get them something that can aid them. Meds, gloves, whatever can help. But I'm just too freaking lazy to go and do it. Then I feel like a selfish tool bag. I get the feeling that's many people's cases as well. Kinda makes you think doesn't it?

The whole lot of them are dropouts who do not want to contribute to society. The time they put into panhandling should go to finding a job. I know some of them look like they have addictions to drugs or alcohol. I wish they would use some of that free cash to get a hair cut and shave.

They should make signing illegal.

The vast majority of these people qualify for very REAL public assistance with food and shelter.

Signing causes society as a whole to become more and more callous and desensitized to poverty and human crisis.

People signing on the street are reducing the overall compassion of society which will not help the signers in the long run.

Also, a vast majority of these signers use drugs or alcohol. They would have to quit that to get state or federal assistance.

I find it interesting that perhaps some people just don't understand some of what the video was trying to depict. I for one don't give money because there are to many scammers that It ruins it for people who really do need. Instead, I get them a coffee, something to eat and shake their hand, ask their name, sit and talk with them for a bit while I drink my own beverage. People are worth more than the insults others throw at them.

I believe that giving money to street beggers is actually bad for them. It allows them to continue leading self-destructive lifestyles. It would be so much better for them to find jobs that would help them achieve self-respect. It would be so much better for society to have these people doing something productive. But your quarters and dollars and food perpetuate their dependancy and their despair. Don't give to them, if you care about them.

Wow, your videos are amazing. That is the kinda of thing I want to do...make videos that is... I have thought about what life would be like if I lived on the streets. Ot doesn't seem that bad, but I am sure it is worse once you are actually in that situation.

Very Good. I volunteered last year at a food bank, and I agree with silentfades, things would be alot better if it weren't for the publics attitude on what is the 'ideal life' and what isnt. It is sad to see that the world is full of labels and predejuice.

I think the word today is entitlement and lack of pride. I have worked with homeless here in NYC and not all by far are with this attitude of several of these persons.
