  • Wow! There should be more videos like this!

  • Public schools are nefarious for children of colour, I used to teach maths in the UK, many white teachers were passive-agressive towards them and had low expectation. Many kids were also denied placement into higher tracks in spite of their grades. If you are a nonwhite family, I strongly advise homeschooling your kids, or enrolling them in an ethnic private schools. White teachers by larhge cannot be trusted with the education of nonwhite children.

  • Hotep and thank you sis for the info!! I live in London, England and removed my son from his high school just before the summer holidays. Afrikan children in this country are unfortunately facing many problems due to miseducated "teachers" who have pre-conceived unfounded views about Afrikan peoples (stero-typing). It's time to be proactive. Hotep

  • Excellent advice, Sis! I've taught in the public school setting for ~10 years, and I see that what you say is true. If you homeschool it would be wise to design your own learning environment around your children--NOT try to mimic a traditional school setting. This will lead to frustration for you & your children. Really!

I thank you for your vids.

  • We currently don't have children but are looking into home schooling our children in the future because of the "gap' many children of African descent experience in the regular public/private schools. Your video has provided me with the support, education, and tools I need in order to properly and effective home school my future children. This video is priceless. Thank you for sharing.

  • ...the premature developing of reticence as may be influenced by the absence of 'peerage socialization', harms the child's overall aptitudinal potential?

  • Beloved, you have provided us with yet another substantive analysis to consider when determining whether or not 'socialization' is a necessity for the proper growth in comprehension and development of a child's mind. And I happen to agree with your position. My question for you beloved is, 'does at a young chronological age when many areas of a child's mind are budding harmoniously,...

  • great video!!

  • New subbie! My daughter and I began homeschooling in March, she's in 8th grade. I totally used the online textbooks that they'd been using in her school for her, thinking I could just continue what they were doing. It didn't work. My daughter's learning style and their curriculum just weren't a good match and thank goodness it didn't take me too long to figure that out. So we've been doing an eclectic mix of library visits, fashion design classes and anything else in the community!

  • Thank you sis for putting this info out.....I needed that......We homeschool our three yr old, and we soon found out that the schools way of teaching children wasnt helping her......we both went through major frustations with it....We are getting it now tho, but your words really helped! Peace and Blessings

  • you are so right...when I started homeschooling I brought public school concepts into my home...major mistake...you hit some major points..I was one of those parents who spend major money trying to create the perfect enviornment...wish I could do it all over again
