  • Hello , I've been wondering , what's the difference with the red and black rubber on the bat( racket ) . Thanks .. :))

  • @khaimangkok In my case nothing. I use the same rubber on the forehand and backhand. Some players can use different types of rubbers on each side and hence the rules state you need 1 red and 1 black rubber so your opponent can quickly tell which rubber you are using when you hit the ball!

  • When pushing the ball should I push it longer or closer and should I try pushing it harder for more back spin?

  • @ttpetiyyy If you push the ball short and low it will be harder for your opponent to attack so this is usually the best way to go. To get more backspin you need to brush the ball more.

  • when would you want to use the push?

  • @byronsrock4 You use it as a defensive stroke. The backspin makes it harder for your opponent to attack.

  • @pingskills Defense against what kind of strike?

  • why is jeff's black rubber so shiny???

  • @broro100 Must just be the lighting. There is nothing special about my black rubber. It was either Sriver or Tenergy 05. Now I'm using Vega Pro.

  • @broro100 He probably cleaned it too.

  • is this similar to the chop? I mean does this create the back spin?

  • @magicanvn

    yes

  • @magicanvn

not big but on the film it looks like backspin

  • @agten7 that's not a problem. I had the same problem, it's just you anticipate one stroke over the other. Try getting a comfortable neutral position, where you start each stroke, that can easily go from backhand to forehand. Don't rush your stroke, and if you need to, don't stand right up against the table; take a half-tofull-step back from the table. Hope this helps.

  • listo

  • I can hit solid strokes... my problem is switching between forehand and backhand... i.e. if I hit a forehand and then my opponent immediately goes to my backhand... its awkward for me to hit a backhand cleanly at times... Is this grip? I think it might be footwork or followthrough.... Conversely, if I focus just on my backhand and try to hit most shots with it I can hit well but then switching to forehand is again awkward.

  • pingskills..are tacky rubbers good for serving and looping??

  • @harrypotter12377 Yes. It is because it can stick on to the rubber for a little more time and more time to "rub" the ball !

  • looks more like a forehand chop.

if you did that, would the ball have backspin on it ?

  • A chop is usually done off the table when you can really get under the ball.

If you get too much under the ball when you're over the table you're going to run the risk of popping it up too high.

Also the point of a push is to put a bit of backspin on it but also to keep it low so that the returning shot will have less backspin on it.

Kinda like setting yourself up for the next stroke attack.

Use the push to force the opponent to make a weak shot, then you make the 1st attack of the point.

  • A chop is a shot played against heavy topspin. A push is used to return a low-backspin serve or a ball that has no spin but is low to the table.

  • fuck techniques. just whack the ball

  • thanks!

  • Its easy to type a few words online and sound like a pro and shoot these guys down... but all your doing is making yourself look like a tool.... these guys are VERY good and make excellent educational vids.

  • They are showing one stroke. Did you want him to show it once and then end the lesson after 5 seconds? He's not saying to keep hitting the same exact shot.

  • Wow the techniques look bad we don't give a crap about your opinion nobody cares

  • make a video of your shots..then come here and point us into that direction.

or just put a sock in it lmao :p

  • You should just slice it back and make it a dropshot

  • Good techniques! The most important thing for Intermidiate players that want to improve there forehand push is to have a better feeling of the bat. Forehand push returns varies on the types of fubber and blade so don't expect the same result all the time.

  • you are giving the ball underspin and side spin at the same time, you should finish with the blade parallel(dont know how to write this word) with the net

  • if i was the opponent of that dude.......i would have use a backhand smash

  • you should use backhand loop for underspin

  • how would you use backhand smash when the ball he is returning will bounce "twice" on your side? lol :)

  • well then you cant you can use the push or the flick AKA the "mini-smash" the smash requires a lob or high ball

  • wats the different between the black grip and the red girp

  • I am using the same kind of rubber on the backhand and forehand so there is no difference. It is an official rule in Table Tennis that you must have one black rubber and one red rubber.

  • the way he does it if someone chopped hard that would end up in the net 9/10.

  • Then you loosen your grip or change the angle of your blade. These kind of adjustments are made constantly. The core stroke is correct.

  • wow thanks this really helped me out

  • wow thxs~

  • those short ones were coming way to high....so easy to flick those. I assume that you were just demonstrating technique there...

  • yeah those pushes were way to high

  • its the problem i am having lol

heavy spin high speed ball makes my push go high >.> then opponent side-topspin=i dead

  • too low,..

    its easy to smash that

  • This is where iam at my weakest the fore hand. Thanks for the video much appreciated.

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • if you extend your arm, its gonna cause unneccesary movement, extending the arm to its fullest will not add more of a back spin or a push which is essentially what this hit is

  • nice lesson thanks guys..
