@MC7283 They didn't develop. They just simplified themselves, depending more on poppy choruses and simple riffing, to appeal to young Metalheads. It is what it is. I can't even count how many times I've heard a Metal head say something like "yeah, when I was young, I really liked In Flames, but as you get older, you're taste evolves". But more so than not, they follow it with "But their older stuff still kicks ass".

God I miss old in flames. New stuff doesn't even hold a candle to this. I like some new In Flames songs but it really is a drastic change. Come Clarity is the only recent album where I don't skip any songs on the CD. Sadly I think this band is done. To me anyways, especially with Jesper gone.

Man, I could cry when I see such old live videos of In Flames! Their old stuff is fuckin' true melodic death metal!!! I also listen to their new songs and I don't hate their new style but the epicnes has gone since clayman. When I'm listening to for example ASOP I don't think it's bad I actually like it but when I'm listening to some of their older records like TJR or W I just think "Man, this is so fuckin' mighty and powerfull" and that's the difference.

Say what you will about the new In Flames, it can't be denied that their live performance now slays performances like this. They've really evolved as live musicians, shame the music quality had to be sacrificed to achieve that. The ebst time to see In Flames live was around 2000/2001, just before R2R came out. (I like R2R, but I love the columbus 2000 vids).

At the time of the jester race the were brilliant but i think theyre brilliant now aswell and you can hear that the growling is muckin up his voice so i cant blame him for wantin to change.
