I can somewhat understand the "chicken coloratura" comment as I feel she doesn't always produce much tone in some of her fioritura. However, I still think she is a great singer. She can also act.
Around 20 Seasons of true beautiful Canto and artistic research ... More than 70 roles in her repertory since Baroque, Mozart, till Poulenc, Berlioz, Ravel with incredible number of true rarety with La Juive, Les Huguenots, Margherita d'Anjou, Maria di Rohan, La Dame Blanche, Matilde di Shabran, ...
Chicken? She's very precise...some other coloraturas, even great ones, were a bit sloppy with the ornamentation and fioraturae, but this woman is crisp and clean. Loved it. She's pretty, too =D
What do you mean when you use the word "relevant" to describe a singer?
To me, it would mean someone who has something to teach or demonstrate, that they have value in their work.
If that's what "relevance" is to you, then this woman is relevant. Others could learn a bit more about precision in their diction and note placement, especially in the ornamentation.
This is a glorious voice.

i never knew she sang such a broad repertoire, i'm impressed!
to me, "facile" best describes her singing: fluent, easily produced, but also somewhat superficial...

Perhaps by "chicken" they meant it wasn't Sills, who sang Cleopatra spectacularly but turned it into Donizetti.
