  • Question Paul. can I put a slow fly set up on the super novajet I whant it to go 100mph to 80mph and can I make it from 15mm epp and 20mm epp.

  • @phs1df Yes you can make a slower version of the SuperNova. Thats the fun part about scratch building you can build it how you like it. You could use the power system i used but say use only a 4S lipo instead of 5S. That or use a smaller motor. You can use the thinner foam if you want too.

  • Question Paul. Where can I find the plans to build the original nova you built that flew so well?

  • @1flyinhuck There are currently no formal plans for the smaller NovaJet yet. I have started drawing them and hoping to have them done in the coming weeks. Thanks for the comment and watching.

  • 1flyinhuck I think that the supernova is a better all aronnd rc plane and if you whant you can copey it from the vidio and I am geting a super nova jet and making it a liter and slower model but that is what I think

  • Very nice plane! I am building one now, my second FF. The question that I have is, is the top and bottom of the wings rounded and the nose left relatively squared? And the fiberglass weave, what kind was that? Thanks for what you do and advise that you give!

    R/ Brian

  • Hey Paul

    What servos did you used?

    thanks, vmat

  • i like your super nova and i wish i can make one but i dont have the the electronics i have another question do you have to pay to get rewards

  • Hi, I love your videos. I really want to get into designing and flying foam planes. I was wondering though. With no landing gear, do you risk damaging your propeller when you land? Thanks...

  • @demofactory

Thanks demo factory. You are correct, the prop can get damaged if it hits the ground hard. usually if you can land with the motor stopped and in something soft like grass it is not too much of a problem. Thanks!

  • Very cool Pauly, I'm glad it came out the way you wanted it to. Looks good and fly's great. Another successful build. Keep up the good work.

  • @mpetty0226

Thanks Mike-O! i was real happy that this plane flies like the old smaller NovaJet, just a bit bigger and faster. Also has a meaner roar in the sky.

  • man that thing flies as fast as a ducted fan, but with the monuverability of a prop plane! verrrryy nice indeed!!!

  • @stinkymlinky

Thanks stinkymlinky! This plane is definitely a fun one. One of my all time favorites that i have made so far. thanks for watching!

  • @rcFoamFighters :) I'm currently making the FF15 from your plans, and so far it has gone very well! Im still waiting to fly it for the first time, but still would like to say thanks for the amazing plans, you beat RCsuperpowers hands down!

  • @stinkymlinky

Cool, best of luck with the FF-15. I hope it flies great for you. Thanks for the kind words, we appreciate your support. We try hard to make the free plans into good documents for others to use. We know they may not contain every bit of information, but hopefully enough for getting a good model made. Please let us know how your FF-15 turns out. Thanks again!

    Paul

  • @rcFoamFighters I will do definately :) I have allready posted most of the build on my channel, and plan to make maiden flight vids of it aswell :)

  • Good to see you guys smilin and hav'n fun. Keep the speed alive.

    FFFTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gripchion

Thanks gripchion! this plane did put a nice smile on my face, always does. It is very fun to fly. no worries, we will for sure keep the speed alive! Thanks for watching!

  • Now this is smth. i wouldn't try without simulator practice!

Even with that i would probably crash it anyway!

  • @sagabhcrew

Thanks sagabhcrew! it is a fun plane to fly and yes some practice flying would be good to do before building this plane. Thanks for watching!

  • yeah tell me about it. what ever happened to dave powers?? same here i miss his weekly flight test and mods and also his crazy dx7 mixes that 60% of us will never figure out

  • what do u use to cover the plane eg.airfoil ?and do u have to use airfoil or does it not matter and if i dont will it effect its perfomance and handling?

  • @ferrari2k7

Usually we just use colored sealing or packing tape to cover the plane. If you look on our blog i have a small article on it under the How to section. it is good to have some shape in your arifoil, especially on thiker wings like this supernova with 30mm wings. On the foam board models there really is no airfoil, just a straight flat piece. thanks for watching!

  • i think the new motto should be "Foam, Glue, Tape, HUGE mega-watt motors, and a little Imagination." i have been using heat over my tape too (learned that from you a year ago). have been busy with work and work related projects lately so i have not had time to build. watching these vids keeps me inspired to start cutting foam again the first moment i have some free time.

  • @wildhover

Hey Ken Thanks for the comment. Don't work yourself too hard. Sure you will make another cool plane once you do have time. Can't wait to see some more 'Wild Hovering" with your cool planes. Take it easy Ken!

  • hey guys what i ment was all the jet like planes resemble eachother so much why not some ff16 or ffsu-27" just some dif models thats all

  • @VegasKiss07

No worries VegasKiss, I'm sure we'll get to some new and different planes soon. Thanks again for watching.

  • thats amazing!!!

  • @lowIQ04

    Thanks lowlQ04!

  • Wow impressive! Enjoyed watching the high speed passes :)

  • @E744763Productions

Thanks, glad you liked the video. I'm sure there will be more video of the SuperNova in the future. Thanks for watching!

  • Wooothat thing is hauling. Man I so want to start building something fast Lol. I have a serious bug again!! Nice work!

  • @Gig540

Thanks for the comment Gig540! haa haa, You should build something fast, they are so fun to fly. let us know if you do! thanks again!

  • @rcFoamFighters I think I just may do that. Last thing I built fast was a Diamond Dust with FAI racing engine. What a rush. Although I never tried going fast with electric. So many options nowdays and your videos keep rubbing in that urge haha. Keep up the great work!

  • You guys get into triple digits with such regularity now that a mere 120 MPH pass is a let-down. Remember a year ago? 88 MPH was a fast pass! Heh. The Times, They Are a-Changin'.

  • @SomeUselessGeek

Thanks for the comment S.U.G.! Yeah, we do seem to be getting used to the faster planes. I remember it was a big thing just to break a 100mph. Fun times man!

  • Damn

  • @mandolinplayer13

    Thanks for watching mandolinplayer13!

  • @rcFoamFighters i always do :)

  • hey you guys should try your hand at a high wing prop plane just to how you do at : )

  • @Lithoushine

Thank for watching Lithousine. Did you see teh Jupiter plane i did a little while back? It had a high wing. Or do you mean a front motor plane like a Cub. eventually we will make one. Actually i think our buddy Jon of teh Bloody Micks is working on one now..

  • wow!!!. supernova ftw omg dude that thing haul,s ass

    thumbs up man,, great job

  • @itchyliabdo

Thanks very much itchyliabdo! the plane is fun and quicker than any of teh other planes I have. I may put an even bigger motor on it in the future. Stay tuned!

  • wow thats a supernova

    its a monster!!!!!

  • @ferrari2k7

Thanks ferrari2k7! it is the coolest monster in my RC hanger, LOL. Thanks again!

  • bloody sweet m8 good job finshing it :) can ya put a camera on it that wold be cool looking back watching it scream and then u go straight up like a rocket

  • @MclF01

Thanks Mcif01! I'll try and get a camera on it soon. i'm sure it would look cool.

  • very nice plane!

  • @gimpwarez

Thanks for watching and commenting gimpwarez!

  • that thing is FAST!!!

    i love that roar

    very nice

    keep it up !!

  • @droogkloot666

Thanks droogkliit! I love this fast bird and especially how it Roars. i wish you could hear what it sounds like in person, has much more of a presents than on video.

  • "rcFoamTapeFighters"

  • @geekfish haa haa, you are right! "Tape" is n our slogan. "Foam, Glue TAPE, and a little Imagination". Tape is Cool man!

  • @rcFoamFighters I enjoy your videos, thank you....

  • Way to go Paul, man 143mph was mental speeds and th sound was the tits ;-) great video work keeping up with that too so that has to be yet another thumbs up.

  • @startazz thanks Startazz! this bird is pretty quick. i may try and put a huge Neu motor on it later like Jacques is running. Then it should really tear up the sky! Thanks for all your support Ian!

  • Well another home run on this build for the rcFoamFighters. As Frank put it "controlable but very very maneuverable" well said. Your getting really good at setting up your planes, just about dialed in right off the get go. Great job Paul another RCFFFTW!!!

  • @flyby8906

Thanks Gregg! i was really happy how this plane did turnout and fly. It flies so much better tahn all my other planes. Hope we get to see your Skyfighter extreme soon!

  • Great plane! nice job

  • @ivanchantt Thannks ivanchantt!

  • not exactly a beginner plane ^^

  • @IteKLF

Thanks for watching IteKLF. Yep you are right, i would not recommend this plane for beginners. It's great though if you do have a little of rc pilot experince.

  • can i buy one from you guys can we work out a deal or something, i need a plug and play. lol !!!!!!!!!!

  • @lin350gg

haa haa, thanks lin350gg. I wish I had the time to make and sell some, but unfortunatley I do not. Hoping someday we can get some planes made. but untill then all I can do is giveawy free plans. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting!

  • Great plane! Nice flyin!

  • @TheLipRipp3r

    Thansk for wacthing LipRipp3R!

  • looks like every other jet iv e seen you guys do use a def style already

  • @VegasKiss07 Thanks vegasKiss007. Hmmm, didt you see my last plane, the FF-64 recon? It's a different plane. It is a slow camera plane with rudders, elevator, landing gear etc. Nothing like this plane... Anyway, thanks for watching.

  • kool

  • @shockflyyer3d

    thanks for watching shockflyer!

  • Nice new intro, gotta love that jet :-)

  • oh very nice-dave powers

  • Sorry, I meant ff-117....

  • Job well done... That plane is mean. Thanks for all you guys do for the hobby, I have successfully completed the ff-22 ff-112 & fb-28. I have even ventured off and now I am attempting my own builds. Again, thanks for the inspiration!!!

  • @JC0926

Thansk JC0926! Cool, good to hear you have built some of our planes. Even cooler you are now trying your own scratch builds. i think that is the funnest part. making something of your own and seeing if it will fly. Best of luck with your builds! lets us know if you get any video of them!

  • Nice work bro!...looking good man!...didnt know u could also heatshrink the tape we use...im gonna try that to....

and i think the Neu Motor would fit real Snug on there!! :P

    keep it up bro...

    Jacques

  • @jacquesone100

Thanks Bro! this is definately one of my favorite planes. i just may have to make a version of it woth a Neu motor or something similar. Thanks for watching brother!

  • holly shit thats fast

  • @Aircraftfreak155

Thanks Aircraftfreak155! it is my quickest plane, but still not as fast as Jacques planes.
