Brian's improv on the rhythm riff is fantastic. And the solo is so doggone good. It's tough to believe that this band has two albums with 1 solo each. And that Rivers put the guitar down. Please Rivers. Pick up the Epiphone.
Jesus this performance is PHENOMENAL. Look at the anguish and pain in Rivers' face as he plays the solo. Definitely the best version of Say It Ain't So I have ever seen.
key to the golden era, MATT freaking SHARPE! Great falsettos, creative basslines, they have never been the same since. He also offered songwriting ability, something they have TOTALLY lacked since then. Used to be a huge Weezer fan, but the only quality albums to speak of are Blue and Pinkerton. Rivers, you have gone off the emotional deep end, please come back. You reveal WAY too much in your songs now and sound like a sniveling teen.
If anything he doesn't reveal enough. He swore to never make an album as personal as Pinkerton again and the result is he's trying to create these pop-songs that offer a glimmer of hope or have a happy feel to them but they're so artifical it just makes me think Rivers is writing to please fans rather than himself.
at this point man, should he really care? he's got us on youtube debating SIAS. at this point i dont think it really matters whether or not he pleases the fans or himself. he's got us hooked, line, and sinker.
you must have not seem them on their recent tour lol
but yeah, I wish Weezer was still writing this kind of caliber stuff. This show is by far their best. their second? any off the new dates....they had SO much energy
shitty? I just saw them last month and it was probably the best live show I've ever seen. And the Red Album is great, just different. You can't expect them to stay the same forever.
you do know its people like you that is the reason rivers called some of his fans "little bitches" cause you wont stop crying about how theyre not the same as when blue came out
he's actually not random at all. that's karl koch, the "5th member" of weezer. He runs their web site, acts as videographer, and pretty much go to guy for all things weezer. we love you Karl.
This is the definition of CHILL! I LOVE THIS!!! Just look at Rivers shirt, thats so casual! And the old bassplayer with that high voice on top of Rivers... Man, I can't find words
This is pretty cool. I haven't see a video with Matt playing on this song other than the actual video. I saw them live 2 yrs ago and Scott of course was on bass and he's great, but you gotta love Matt.
holy crap thats the bizzare festival!in germany rammstein played there thats so awesome weezer did to!i knew that it looked like it at first like the sun and camera people!!!!!!!!
The thing about Weezer is that they didn't give a shit what you thought. If you liked their music, go to their concert and buy their CD's, if you don't, then don't. They dress how they want and play how they want.
Ha, I thought this was way better than their Reading Performance. This was my favorite concert they've ever had. Now I hate Rivers, red hair, glasses, he looks like a mess.
Technically yes. But shriner doesn't have 1/10 of matt's charisma. Without Matt something is clearly missing, and the song isnt the same without his falsetto. Matt was 'the loosecannon' of the band who really completed their sound and performance. He was the spark of life and silliness in their music and his absence in both Rivers' attitude and songwriting as well as the bands sound and live performance is quite noticable. really cool comment! :D nevertheless, Matt Sharp is cool, don't listen to what dumbasses say :) in fact, Weezer is one of THE best bands.. it's a shame that they are so underrated in Bulgaria :(
Not a valid argument. Rivers did the song writing and he did it as a totalitarian songwriter; Matt had nothing to do with the quality of Weezer. Not to mention, Rivers had to SHOW Matt how to play his bass parts on Pinkerton ;)

Oh yeah, and no one went to =w= shows to see Matt act the fool, they went to see Weezer perform flawless reditions of their hits.
Acctually my argument proves everything. His falsetto, combined with rivers voice, is the trademark Weezer vocal signature of the first two albums, sucker. The green album? It sucked, so enough said. And seeing an active performer on stage improves the show quality while listening to music. otherwise you could just listen to it on a stereo if you want flawless renditions.
Sorry, but falsetto vocals are NOT what Weezer is remembered for. Weezer was a group of "regular" geeks (ie The common man) who became rockstars because of crunchy but clean power-pop guitars, and catchy chorus'.
