Before the image and lifestyle overtook the music, T.Rex were quite simply a brilliant rock band. It's only my opinion but this proves it. Cadillac is as fresh today as it was when I first heard it in January 1972.
I remember as a kid in england, they were huge, it was a great time for them. i remember collecting posters of them, esp Marc, who was every young girls dream.
Still miss you Marc & whatever B side music he had, better than any A side music todays one dimensional poor excuses for musicians can conjour up...with or without a les Paul.
Marc was a natural born performer. He really knew his way around a Les Paul too. He had the best rock-n-roll posturing with a guitar ever. No body has done it better since Marc. Sadly, sadly missed.
@ooohcheese Hey, what guitars have you got? I always loved Marc's Guitars and have tried to get a hold of replicas etc but have never realy had much luck
@ooohcheese I did not know your were THIS big a fan...I can relate all the wayy...yeh! Steve Currie on bass, could anyone have done better? Legend on drums, a natural self taught drummer, what a mix. Boan had his own stly of gutar playing, didn't he? And Mickey more than carried his wieght, plus I heard got on well with Marc. As far as pure Bolan/T-Rex music goes, all I would need on this would be Flo and Eddie doing their thing to top it all off...yeh!
I loved the Beatles as my first intro into rock music. The fact that Ringo picked up with Marc, tells me alot about Marc's attraction. I need to see all the tracks that Ringo played with Marc. Can any of you other Marc Freaks steer me onto the track where Marc plays on Ringo album, the song is on the Album Ringo. I think. Marc plays on one of the tracs, I think it is called "Hold on", let me know...
Number one song for me is spaceball ricochet. forever and ever. I love all marc songs but few songs is still above others. Like There was a time, Shy boy, Ride a white swan, Dandy in the underworld.. just to name a few.:)
One of my most favorite tracks from Marc. I grew up wishing he would walk me home! Not to mention the Jamming sound and his very special sound effects and layed back guitar playin. Its a dark clip but the jacket is one of my fav's as well. At his Best really :)
Respect

The lead break shows Marcs musical ability compared with the likes of Steve Currie.
Steve goes off thinking marc can come with him , but Marc runs out of notes , but he still is playing and brings the whole thing back.
Got to love the guy.
I play this song note for note.
It's not easy he doesn't use normal scales, he mixes 'em up
MWaa! Marc.
Warra guy.

Before I get Bolan freaked off Marc fans.
No bigger fan than me man .
My son is called Marc , my guitar collection are nearly all facsimalies of Marcs guitars.
I have a tattoo of Marc.
I have been a fan for 40yrs . I have most if not all of the original wax.+foreign.
I may not be an expert , but I know about my Rex.
Peace out!
