  • @eastexotic.

ballet can help. but indians have been dancing for thousands of years before ballet was invented. I am sure that there are plenty of yoga asanas that can help which are as old as the dance itself.

  • The guy is amazing !

  • I love it. I love it. I love it.

  • Dude was killing it!

  • I really believe ballet training techniques will help Indian classical dancers with their conditioning. I learnt ballet before Barathanatyam and i've really benefited from it. Indian dancers sometimes look a little soft. They should be fit and slim.

  • Superb!!! Really fantastic piece!! Wish I could see the entire pallavi!

  • él me encanta. bueno los dos lo hacen maravillosamente. que envidia

  • This is a beautiful performance.

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful pallavi - both dancers in this clip are very graceful.

However, with respect to the style, the male dancer seems overzealous with his 'joyous' expression. It makes his dancing too 'pretty' and self-conscious.

  • @kAlabhasma mmmm i disagree, i love his expression!

  • muito lindo maravilhos

  • Someone took some great pictures from this show on flickr, if you get a chance check it out. the pictures are just as beautiful as the video -;)

  • BeatiFull ART

  • Is this Kelu sir's original or is this ODA"s version?

  • I think this video is phenomenal. They dance beautifully in it.

I wish I could dance Odissi as well as they do! =].

  • Odissinatya, that is not entirely accurate - Male Dancers were the original due to politics and its values.

    Thank you.

  • thats is not completely true. there was two taditions in orissa: gotipuas, males dancers, performed in villages for people, and mahari dancers, female dancers, performed into temples. But there were first female dancers, male dancers came later as an imitation and interretation of mahari dance for local people.

  • perfect in everyway

although i always thought odissi was a female dance

  • Back When, Odissi was actually not danced by females at all, odissi was danced by only male dancers called "gotipua" search

    "Kalucharan Mohapatra"

  • i did not know that

    now i've learned something

  • Not too long ago, only males danced Odissi (and sometimes they would dress as women). Eventually women were able to learn, but they couldn't back then.

  • thanks 4 the info

  • please please post the entire dance..

i want to see it completely..its just too captivating..

    thanks,

  • absolutely amazing. they flow like water. and beautiful choreography by kelubabu. please please post more parts of this beautiful pallavi....

  • What a treat to watch both these dancers perform in perfect harmony. Hope there was more of the item to enjoy ... Thanks for this snippet.

  • Hansadhvani pallavi is around 15 minutes. It was a treat to watch Yudhisthir Nayak and Shibani Patnaik perform. I will try and post more clips from that performance.

  • thanks ... i will look forward to additional clips.
