i did the same thing you did after getting inspired by your video,i used two cans of foam for home repair $6 bucks a can and some bondo, instead of wood i used cardboard and the bottom part is fiberglass...thanks man
Hey thanks for the kind words man. $75 is insane! I love those bikes. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Check back in a week or so, I plan on making some videos of the bike on the road and stuff.
You are an inspiration, I plan to mimic this concept for my current build a '79 Suzuki GS550...its my first street bike, bought it for $75 and its in great shape considering, but still needed a lot of work. So I am turning it into a cafe, but just the same I don't really have much experience with metal and NO experience with fiberglass...but GD am I a carpenter =P. Once its done I will be posting a video. Thanks again!
@nlmedic Thank you very much! The color came out awesome, very old school lookin. Yes I did everything. Luckily my Dad has lot's of gadgets which made it a little easier. The only major tool I bought was a grinder, so I could grind off the stock seat hinges, brackets and anything else that got in the way. The hardest part was hand shaping the cowling until I was happy with the look. Took almost 2 months off and on until it was done. It was a learning process that's for sure .
Sorry I didn't keep them. I used them to get close to what I wanted and ended up shaping everything as I went.
